The set menu is well priced and the waiters will allow you swap dishes you dislike for anything you fancy at no extra cost, and authentic Asian beers are available on tap. Inside, there's an elegant, romantic feel generated by the easy-listening soundtrack, lush red décor, themed lanterns and meticulously folded napkins. The waiters are all friendly, the turnaround is impressive, and unlike other independent restaurants, the staff don't try to rush you or give you a set time to vacate your table. Thanks to its great food, intimate set-up and excellent staff, this local wonder is one of the best Chinese restaurants I've ever visited in Birmingham.

The actual takeaway has just had a paint job with new sofas. The tv is always showing news and there are always newspapers to read. The service is swift and practical however the counter staff don't ask anything personal really nor do they chat to you while you are waiting. The only challenge is getting the food home without eating it!

I have to give Lee Garden credit on their quick turnaround, as my food was ready as soon as I arrived for collection, around 15 minutes after phoning in.
