The set menu is well priced and the waiters will allow you swap dishes you dislike for anything you fancy at no extra cost, and authentic Asian beers are available on tap. Inside, there's an elegant, romantic feel generated by the easy-listening soundtrack, lush red décor, themed lanterns and meticulously folded napkins. The waiters are all friendly, the turnaround is impressive, and unlike other independent restaurants, the staff don't try to rush you or give you a set time to vacate your table. Thanks to its great food, intimate set-up and excellent staff, this local wonder is one of the best Chinese restaurants I've ever visited in Birmingham.

The reason for this is because here they serve THE BEST Chinese Takeaway food I have ever tasted. The service is excellent, you can pick up or have it delivered piping hot to your door. The menu is extensive however, being a simple man I often opt for a simple Chicken Friend Rice and Curry Sauce, the best in town. My other half goes for the Bang Bang Chicken which I can't help but help myself to as well. The Hardwok has built up a good customer base and is always busy. Friday and Saturday nights are particularly busy and I'd get your order in ASAP to guarantee you get your order at some point that same evening. This isn't helped by a pub just across the road which churns out hungry drinkers at around 10.30pm.

I had Satay kebabs, and they came in batter and deep fried instead of grilled! Not impressed. On top of this the service was poor, and I thought everything was overpriced.
