Arriving on a pleasant, spring Thursday evening, there was already a fair amount of people sat around the large circular tables and tables for two. We were led to a table which was already occupied by a hot plate, powered by tea lights, a plate of prawn crackers and fanned napkins. It didn't take long for the waiter to take our drinks order and, after browsing through an extensive wine list, we settled for a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc for £14.To start, we decided the dim sum combo would allow us to try bite-sized portions of a fair few of the starters the restaurant had to offer. It included chicken satay skewers and spring rolls along with seaweed, which came in a little pot of its own.The sesame prawn toast stole the show for me and the sauce covering the spare ribs was tangy and delicious. The menu had a nice variety of dishes to choose for main, from chicken and vegetarian dishes to various meat and seafood meals.

This lovely Cantonese restaurant was such a surprise. I've learned that in England many…read morerestaurants require reservations to be seated on the weekend. My group wanted to visit another Cantonese in Stourbridge, but it was booked. So we settled on this one. Nobody in our party of 5 was disappointed after that meal though. Since we had a large sized group, we found the easiest was to order off a set menu. It said it catered to groups of 4, but the restaurant was able to accommodate our 5. We chose menu D, £21 per person. I am struggling to remember the food we had because it was so much!! I know the meal began with crispy duck pancakes. Our server shredded what looked like to be a whole duck!! It was fantastic. So fresh and crispy. Next came a variety of starters. There were prawns, wontons, chicken skewers, and fried seaweed. The chicken was in a strange sauce that wasn't my favorite. But everything else was delicious. It felt like we were forgotten about after those starters because we sat there for quite a while. It wasn't until a member of my parter asked where our food was that they brought it out. And the food wouldn't stop arriving. So. Much. Food. Luckily we had a mini spinning lazy Susan to spin the dishes around. For our mains, let's see, we had lemon chicken which was so good we debated ordering another plate. There was a lamb dish, sweet and sour pork, a sizzling steak dish, and this really cute "birds nest" seafood dish. Yes I said cute. I'd never seen something served like that before. It was so much food. Oh yeah we had fried rice too. The lamb was the least favourite of the group, but don't think it was bad. We just aren't lamb people I guess. After a "pre starter", filling appetisers, and 5 mains we only wanted one thing...dessert! The group was split between banana fritters and this caramel ice cream dish. I choose the caramel. It reminded me of ice cream bars from back home. Perfection. The bill was also served with some orange chocolates. Bonus! Although I don't have pics of the food, please believe me when I say it was wonderful! I think it was pricey, but there were 5 of us, and everyone was drinking but me But it was worth it. I think I found my new favourite Cantonese :)

24/3/18 Very…read moresurprised by the Food Standards Agency rating of 3/5 (December 2016). However, the food and service was excellent. Group of 8 people and we chose to have the: Special Banquet (minimum for 4 ppl) - £29.00 per person Yuk Sung, Sesame Prawn Toast, Aromatic Duck with Pancakes, Honey Pepper King Prawns, Seabass with Thai Chilli Sauce & Basil, Cantonese Cripsy Chicken, Sizzling Beef Fillet Cantonese Style, Mixed Vegetables in Satay Sauce *Contains Nuts and Special Fried Rice The Yuk Sung was the best I had ever had before. The sesame Prawn Toast was not the normal flat piece of bread, but huge and filled with prawn. The king prawns were huge!!!! Vietnamese King Prawns (???) The chilli sauce that we had with the duck and pancakes was really hot, but nice. It was sizzling on my tongue. Highly recommend like every other reviewer. I can't wait to take the kids.

I don't even know where to start with this fabulous place!! ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!…read more From the moment I walked in and was greeted, I instantly fell in love with this place. There's a large reception area for meeting friends and having a drink at a large, exceptional bar, before being shown to your table. Enter the dining room! Wow, exceptional tables, laid out beautifully and the decor is astonishingly great! Everything about this place says...Swish! Most importantly the food...we began with a traditional crispy aromatic duck and pancakes. The duck was mouthwatering and plenty of it! For £18 it's pricey, but you could have shared between 4 people for a light starter. But between two of us was better, you wanted more and more constantly! Before the mains were served we had a little bowel with a very tiny cloth in, before warm water was poured in and it became a full hand cloth...swanky! The mains continued with the highest standard of Chinese food I have ever had. And surprisingly it's the first time I have actually used chop sticks throughout a meal before giving up and asking for a fork...I was so captured by the food that I didn't even consider putting the chop sticks down!! Now whilst this place is a more premium venue. You really do get what you pay for...exceptional service, delicious food and even a violinist playing a mix of songs the entire time - how she continued or knew that many I do not know!!
