And by old and dirty I mean OLD AND DIRTY. The outside of the cottages are cute and of course being right on the beach is inviting. Fortunately they can't mess up the view of beach, even over time. The same cannot be said for the inn.
The girl at the desk did not tell us where our cottage was or where to park, we had to ask. I walked into the room and thought, "this place is dated", but dated doesn't bother me if the place is clean. I walked into the bathroom and there was poop on the toilet seat. When I go to an inn I assume the basics, like the toilet will be clean.
Next is the wicker table next to my bed- there was an eaten chocolate covered cherry stem left on the table. Really? There was makeup on one of the pillowcases, and I had a remnant of chocolate from that cherry on my bed, not to mention random hair.
Yes, the sound and smell of the ocean is great, but the smell of the ocean through an old, dank window kinda ruins that. Because all you smell is old dank window. We recieved only a partial roll of toilet paper, the bathroom was dark, and falling apart. Anything I touched was loose and felt like it would fall off the wall.
It's very disappointing that a room at this place is $250 a night. We were uncomfortable staying in the room because really how dirty is this place(what are we not seeing)? The absolute only thing that was positive was the wonderful woman who took my reservation, and checked us out. I couldn't say how awful our experience was because she was too nice and it wasn't her fault.
Oh yes, did I mention the beach is great? No I didn't, because the beach has nothing to do with this sad, dumpy, dank, dirty place. Very disappointed. read more
