Did not stay here, but had lunch and was rather disappointed. I am originally from Gloucester and…read morelived just a stone's throw from there. Ordered the baked haddock casserole and was very unhappy with the meal. It was anything but a casserole. It was cooked in a hot metal oven pan with a sparse amount of crumbs and had a "weird" spice on it. It was overpriced too. Not someplace I would choose for a lunch date.

Hotel Review: The Beauport Hotel is absolutely breathtaking…read moreand such a wonderful place to stay north of Boston, especially if you love the ocean. The ocean facing rooms are luxurious and beautiful. It is definitely expensive but its truly beautiful and such special place. Wedding Venue Review: We saw so many venues at the start of planning and the Beauport was the only one that made a lasting impression. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to host our wedding there. It was so stunning, beautiful and perfect. We were truly proud to invite our friends and family to such a breathtaking place. The food was absolutely to die for, the waitstaff and hotel staff were so sweet, and our coordinator Jacey was attentive in the months leading up to our event. We did have some critiques. The communication with our coordinator was not 100% on the day of our wedding. There were small things here and there, but the biggest one was that a row was meant to be reserved for our bridesmaids, groomsmen and flower girl, but it was not so they ended up having to stand up with us. We discussed this many times during planning, and emphasized the importance of only having our man of honor and our best man standing up with us. There was no apology for this pretty considerable error until I brought it up myself a week after the wedding. The other critique was that my parents were in city facing rooms and had a very hard time sleeping due to excessive noise from the street. Other people in the room block had much better rooms which we felt should have been given to our parents. Other than that, everything was amazing. It was truly so special and we will never ever forget it. We couldn't be more grateful to have had the most perfect sunny day on the water in Gloucester, a place that has been special to my heart since I was a kid. Thank you Beauport Hotel! We will never ever forget our wedding day.

This review is specifically for the Oceanfront Breakfast Cafe…read more While we have stayed at the Inn several times, we continue to come back for the Breakfast Cafe. When they say the best breakfast in Gloucester, it's not an exaggeration! The couple that owns the Inn/Cafe are very hospitable and welcoming people. I've been visiting for the past 15+ years and every stay and meal has always been exceptional. Additionally, the staff they hire and employ is equally committed. It is truly a five-star operation. We were recently up in the area visiting Gloucester and Rockport. As always, one of those mornings meant we had to stop at Atlantis Oceanfront Cafe! It is a MUST. I almost hate letting this gem/secret out. It is the best place for breakfast with the very best view. It is post-card perfect. Your window table overlooks the rocks+water and you can visually see and hear the waves crashing against the rocks. It doesn't get much more picturesque or scenic than that! While the menu has changed a bit since my last visit, the quality has not. The breakfast portions are very generous and everything is of the highest quality. Our favorite is the eggs Benedict. Those perfectly poached eggs resting on top of those bakery-quality English muffins. The tender Canadian bacon. The perfect amount of creamy, perfectly seasoned hollandaise sauce. The side of tender and perfectly seasoned breakfast potatoes. It doesn't get any better than that in my book! Another favorite of mine is their GIANT Fresh Blueberry Pancakes. They remind me greatly of every childhood trip to the Atlantis and Gloucester. I've always told my family if I had to have one last breakfast, let's hope Atlantis Cafe is in season! I am not joking either! Service is always top priority. Friendly and expeditious. The kitchen is open to the dining room and their culinary takes true pride in every plate they put out. If you're looking for the best breakfast with the best view in Gloucester, Atlantis Oceanfront is the place. I did notice the secret has gotten out as of late! We did have a short 15-minute wait this last visit. Parking can also be challenging given the lot size and guest/staff vehicles parked for the Inn. The patience is worth the reward! Best Breakfast in Gloucester. Period. Wonderful, Involved Owners.

This review is only for the Atlantis oceanfront cafe that is part of the inn…read more Service was spot on where we were greeted by the hostess who was very courteous and accommodating for part of 7. They pulled some tables and chairs together to fit us all in a row. The setting and ambiance is very diner like with the address of the great ocean view. The menu was only one page but had all the essentials for a great breakfast. The waitress was quick off the mark to grab our drink orders. The coffee nice a hot, good cup of joe. 5/5 Fish cakes and eggs - I wanted to try something unique and they had this spectacular dish on menu. The fish cakes contained fresh chunks of fish and was seasoned just right. It wasn't too salty so went well with the spinach. The home fries were good and eggs over easy were done perfectly. The soft egg yolk broke and oozed just fine over the fish cakes. Definitely will come back again for breakfast when in the area.

We had a view from the second floor across the street to Gloucester Bay and the famous mariners statue. Downtown is a short walk in one direction, and the bridge that is seen on Wicked Tuna a short walk in the opposite direction. There is a fabulous waterfront park a short distance away with beautiful views for a hike. We did not use our car during the visit. Since they had availability, we were taken on a tour and were able to choose our room. Everything was in working order, with the room very large and comfortable. We stayed over Wednesday night and the evening "sing was directly below our room. I was reminded for some reason to call and catch up with my sweat lodge hippy quaker sister and see how she was doing (just fine thanks). I am sure it was our imagination, but the following morning we heard something scurrying across the roof. My wide asked if I thought it was the famous muffin bunny. I checked the door, and there was the muffin basket. We really enjoyed our stay at the Inn, and in Gloucester. If you visit the Inn, and are staying on the second floor, pack light as the stairway is a bit steep.

We stayed in Rm 3, booked last minute and all that was available. Smart checkin is awesome and efficient. The room while small, was inviting, clean comfortable! AC was super, bed firm but comfy and water pressure great! The outside deck overlooking Front beach was perfect on a clear sunny August day! In season, beer and wine are offered. Nice Adirondack chairs, a few high top tables and other seating ida available to enjoy the view, eat your takeout, sip your coffee or beverage while Enjoying a relaxing view. Parking is a short walk away! Room has a micro, small fridge and kuerig. We will definitely return to enjoy the Cove in the future.

I have very mixed feelings about this experience. I have never stayed somewhere like this before…read more This is more of a strange mash up of Airbnb meets hotel/inn. Upon arrival we realized there is not a single human working there. We had to park down the street and walk with our bags. Find the side door, enter a code, climb the stairs, enter another code to get into our room. The room (8) was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The sink in the bathroom was so insanely small it was impossible to use it without water splashing everywhere. This is a very old building and you could hear every sound in the surrounding rooms as well as every step of the people in the room above. The door to our room didn't go all the way to the floor, there was a large gap. Basically it felt like there was no privacy at all. This made the stay a bit uncomfortable but we only stayed one night and honestly, only for a couple of hours after an event and before check out so it was acceptable. If we were on vacation I would not have been happy with the experience. The location is great, walking distance to shops and restaurants and across from the beach but for almost $300 in December and all the issues I mentioned, I would not go back. They should really let you know before you book that you cannot park or even stop and unload near the hotel. That is so unusual and inconvenient! They only mention this in the informational email before check in/after you have booked & paid. They did mention that you have to climb stairs but not that they are so steep! My husband and I are relatively young and healthy but we had trouble carrying our bags/belongings up and down the stairs. I am not sure they meet the standards of building codes today, they may be grandfathered in since it's an old building. I climb stairs in my house everyday, those were treacherous with luggage! If you NEED a place to stay in Rockport and you don't want a "hotel" experience I guess this is a good choice.
