I contacted Joe after receiving a mailer. I was in the process of getting quotes to replace a roof on a home we are in the process of buying. Everything was great up until the point I told him his quote was much higher than the 4 other vendors I had contacted prior to him. Once i told him we were going with another vendor he kind of hounded with me questions about the other quotes. Which OK, if that's all it was I wouldn't have bothered writing this review. But that's not where it ended. He then proceeded to tell me what i need to make sure to check for in a roofing company because if the prices were lower than his they must be an uninsured company with no English speaking person on the job. Yeah.... What???? I know, you can't believe it either right? PS Joe I speak Spanish pretty well as do a considerable amount of people in Texas. Then when I expressed offense at his insinuation he knew better than I do how to search for my own vendors he told me to be offended all I want he is going to advocate for his customers. I did not ask for an advocate sir I asked for a bid and since I did not accept your bid I am not your customer. The end. I realize I am a woman doing men's business and that confuses people but this behavior is just plain unacceptable. I would not recommend this company to anyone who doesn't want to work with questionably racist people who think they know better than you. read more

We spoke with someone that was supposed to come out and give us a quote about a week ago. They never showed up, and were completely unresponsive afterwards. No returned calls, or texts. We would have been fine if they canned to cancel, or even say they couldn't take in 3 the job, but not showing when you say you will, then ghosting is just unprofessional. Don't waste your time. ETA: the responded to my review, their excuse for bad customer service is just incorrect and embarrassing. Photos below, along with texts and call log from our conversation with the owner. I called today to give them an opportunity to correct their response, but the receptionist was just as bad. She told me she wouldn't transfer me without all of my contact information, so I told her I would leave it in the voicemail. She said she couldn't send me to voicemail either, because she's at an off site facility and said she didn't know anyone's name, no one was available and she didn't know when anyone would be available. Stay away, much more professional, responsive and less reactive/belligerent companies out there. read more

I had some questions about a quote on a new roof and so I sent a message and Joe, the owner responded very quickly. Joe was more than helpful. He answered all of my questions and even steered me to his website for more information on various topics along with pictures of completed jobs. They are one of the few roofing companies that will actually hand nail the shingles instead of using a nail gun. If you want someone who really cares about his customer and will provide valuable information with top notch service then he is the guy. Good Guys is a top tier roofing company. read more

Just had my roof replaced by this company. They did a fantastic job with everything. It's a hand nailed roof so the shingles aren't over nailed and are nailed in the correct area. The clean up in my yard was amazing as well. I haven't found a single nail. Highly recommend! read more

Joe and the crew at Good Guys did an excellent job in my roof and saved me a ton. I had set up with another contractor and, after over a month, they hadn't even ordered my shingles. I called Joe and he got on the phone, got the shingles and started the job the next day. They replaced my roof, gutters, and some damaged trim. Everything looks excellent, like brand new, and he even upgraded me to better shingles and took care of me on price. Joe handled everything with the insurance too, so I didn't have to worry about anything. These guys are really good guys. I called a couple days ago to add solar roof vents. They discussed project and then set appointment. They did exactly what was promised in a very courteous and neat manner. Matched existing shingles exactly and installed three solar roof vents.They were on time, neat, polite..did a super job for a very fair price. I think they easily rate a 10 on the scale but 5 was maximum. Weldon Driver and team were great and I will keep their card for next time and also neighbors.!!! Frisco, TX new roof nightmare July 6h, 2017. Good Guys General Contractor's crew no showed July 3rd. I contacted Joe that afternoon to inquire, and he did not know, told me they were now fired. Another crew showed up Wednesday July 5th up at 11:30 am that day. The crew immediately damaged some patio furniture and come to find out a patio window and screen, from them throwing down the shingles. I contacted the GC Joe Tennant , and he said he was on his way, he didn't show, texted me to invoice him. Joe must have called them because they immediately started cleaning up the area. The crew worked on, and took about a 1.5-2 hour lunch break. A storm hit that night around 6:30 and the crew dragged ragged blue tarps to cover the roof. Joe's crew couldn't get the shrub tarps on the roof properly before the during the rain storm. So the roof crew just took off! My family began yelling that water was pouring from in from our vents, light fixtures, and from the floor into the house. The master bedroom closet collapsed with drywall, water and insulation. I called "Joe" and told him I had cut off the breakers for the leaking back house so no one would be electrocuted. Joe said "He had insurance for that kind of thing". "REALLY!!!" Joe showed up alone several hours later, then took and sent pics of the damage from in the attic to the roofing crew in hopes they would come back, then went to get proper tarps and materials from Home Depot. The crew came back out that night around 11:30pm. One of many SNAFU's. Now I have ceiling and wall water damage across the house. Joe is taking no blame, blaming his "not best crew" as his "A" team is on vacation. Third party professionals came in to dry it out for several days (some thirty blowers and de-humidifiers), tear our carpet and drywall for ceilings and walls across the house and closets, as the insulation had to be sucked out, we now we have a 99 plus degree house. Joe was to put us up in a hotel and quickly backed out, once the damage would take proper assessing by a third party, and I wanted to manage the re-work. I did not trust that the work would be performed to a safe standard. Joe wanted to keep things off the books. We had to move as all our belonging needed to be removed. The house was not habitable in this 99 degree plus weather. I strongly recommend not using "Good Guys General Contractors for Roofing off Preston Rd. Texas". Joe mislead us, was ill prepared and had only excuses. He has yet to apologize. I'm out some $4,500 so far. Great week to be on vacation, had to take the next week also to move.
