Got the car I wanted that day. They were super nice and helpful! Would highly recommend going there for a vehicle.

Are they trust worthy and do they over charge compared to market value? Well we have been shopping around for our daughters first car and her dream vehicle happened to be at Hamsmith Auto! A new Ford Bronco!! I can say that Hamsmith Auto Group went above and beyond my expectations and got us in my daughters dream vehicle for a very fair price! I know because we have searched online and pretty much everywhere for a Bronco! If you're like us when you walk around most dealerships, you dread that salesman speed walking towards you because at that moment you're just there to look and not be hassled! At Hamsmith's dealership it was so different, the owner approached us like a next door neighbor inviting you to a barbecue! They do have sales guys but they all put out that same vibe!! Very chill!! There is another big dealership here in Lubbock that if it weren't for one sales guy that I've bought from multiple times, I wouldn't go there ever because they have 10 salesman you have to walk thru to get inside and all starring me and my wife down like a pack of wild dogs! Anyways long story short, Hamsmith Auto Group just became a new favorite!!

I couldn't be happier with my used, Toyota purchase! The Highlander I was looking for with…read morespecific colors inside and out and features that matched my particular criteria was located at Gene Messer Toyota in Texas. My salesperson Gabriel was so very helpful with this remote, out-of-state purchase. He was professional and instrumental in coordinating not only the transactional part with Eric (who handles on-site finance issues), but Gabriel was also my point-of-contact for the transport company's pick-up (who hauled it from Texas to California). Upon arrival, the car was detailed and smelled like new--even though it is nearing its 3-year anniversary. I would definitely recommend this dealership to locals or others who like to shop nationally for their "dream car" be it new or used.

WILL NEVER GIVE THIS DEALERSHIP MY BUSINESS and will urge my associates not to either…read more Its always ironic that life throws out little tests for you. Sometimes you pass, sometimes you fail, but it should always be a lesson to be better. To the moral of this statement.... I was in the market for a newer car, since my current car was about 10 years old, and I felt I deserved an upgrade. I searched around and found a few SUV's that I liked and went on the main Gene Messer website, which paired me with a salesman at their toyota location and we got in touch via email and text. I looked over their inventory and did not see anything I liked but saw one at one of their Sister Dealerships and the salesman told me "If there is a car/truck we have that you want, I can get it." I believed him. So I asked him to try to get that vehicle and I would come in for a test drive. Since this convo happened late Saturday, he said he would call the Sister dealership on Monday morning and have them bring the truck over. Monday comes.....he says he is working on it, but tells me to just come on out anyways and it should be handled by the time I get there. I figured it could not hurt, since I was already in that area, so I go. He sits with me for a few minutes, we make small talk and he keeps trying to show me other vehicles. I turn those down. He proceeds to tell me everything that is bad about my trade in and then gives me a low ball offer. I was not even concerned about my trade in because I had a large down payment. But then tells me the truck I wanted already sold. OK. So I get my keys and leave. I head to another dealership, where they not only give me 2500 more on my trade in, but also found another of the truck wanted with no issue. That salesman did his job and called around until he found it for me. Insanely enough, the original truck I wanted DID NOT ACTUALLY SELL. I had a friend call the dealership where it was and they said they still had it, and asked if my friend wanted to come in for a test drive that day. Nice, so my original salesman lied to my face, clearly did not want to work that day, and basically lost about $80,000+ in sales. How is that you ask? Well, I was seeing how my personal transaction would go, and if I came out happy, I would buy a fleet of about 4 or 5 trucks and a van for my company. Nice one Gene Messer Toyota. So, looks like they failed this test, and lost a potential repeat customer.

Everything seemed up to date and they are required to show the vehicle driving in a video. Besides the broken bumper and cosmetic damage. I didn't think it was a bad car. After winning the bid and contacting the seller, David Miller, to set up a pick up date. He told me the vehicle was running "hot" when they drove it to get it registered. I asked if the a/c was broken and didn't understand what he was saying because it was very vague. I told him I was coming from 5 hours away. He said he recommended getting it towed. That's all he said. What the hell?? After bringing my family of 5 to Lubbock to pick up this over heating vehicle. David Miller was nowhere to be found. How convenient. Instead a lady who could barely give me any eye contact made me sign 10 pieces of paper saying I wouldn't sue them in court plus the title stuff and this is without actually even seeing the vehicle first. Obviously something was amiss. We realized it was a lot worse than they said when she finally took us to it. It wouldn't even start, and when we jumped it, smoke was coming out of the engine immediately. We could barely load it up onto our trailer without worrying if it would blow up. After getting it to my local auto shop, the bad news came, which I figured with the treatment I received. The whole gasket blew up, very recently too which cracked the engine because somebody kept driving it. So I'm not sure if I actually bought a decent car and they messed it up the three weeks they had it, or if I just got totally screwed from the get go. Obviously I signed a contract that I wouldn't sue them (which I take full responsibility for, I should've waited to do the paperwork before I got to the vehicle). I have sent two e-mails asking for any options I might have and have yet to receive a response back. Duh to me. All in all, DO NOT PURCHASE A VEHICLE HERE. They are the perfect example of an untrustworthy, money grubbing, very shady car dealership that does not care about hard working Americans trying to get by. There's $5,000 that I will never get back. I hope they can sleep at night knowing they steal from their customers.
