We walked in during the bustling dinner rush and found the restaurant packed. The host greeted us warmly, and we found our way to the bar. The female bartender was there that my brother knows, so we sat down. I don't recall her name, but she was friendly and attentive. We both ordered blackened chicken caesar salads. The salads were pretty good. I honestly wasn't that crazy about the caesar dressing but it was edible. The salad and chicken were fresh though. Also, I didn't get sick, which is a plus considering the lettuce recalls lately. The portion size is generous as well. My brother had a beer flight too, which he always enjoys. The restaurant was crowded, but the bar area felt intimate. There were a lot of regulars around us, so people were familiar with each other. Everyone was friendly, which was cool. The environment was relaxed and comfortable. I'd definitely visit sometime in the future if the opportunity presented itself.

Great Mexican in Midlothain, another great Mexican place on the south side of Chicago…read more This gets the extra star for "not blasting their music as loud as Calienté does" according to my father. I love their green sauce, super tomatillo-y with a little bit of tang to it. Their red has the nice roasted flavor but isn't too killer. Their salsa is good and guacamole is nice and fresh. If you need the heat they carry El Yucateco, that's the hot sauce Mexicans use and if you need anything hotter than that you bring your own insanity sauce. I ordered the Mexican skillet which provided a more than generous portion of chorizo cooked with potatoes. Eggs were cooked overeasy and the yolk blended in really nicely. It is to be noted that their beans are really good, which sounds ridiculous but they were definitely above average. Most places will just dump them out of the can and heat them up. Same with their rice, it was flavorful and a little tomato-y, which reminds me of my mothers old recipe. My girlfriend ordered the chicken taco dinner and she really liked it. The chicken was nice and moist-- not crazily seasoned or marinated, but cooked right. My dad ordered the steak dinner and I could say the same about the steak -- nice char, easy to chew. His plate came with some cactus which I got to try, and that was pretty good; kinda tangy, nice texture. I also liked the horchata, which had a nice amount of spice to it and wasn't gritty! The service is good and I should mention that the time before we were here, they gave us a little sample of tongue -- it wasn't exactly my thing, but the fact that they let us sample it I was grateful for. Plus if you DO like tongue, it is likely very good. (It did taste good, I just wasn't a fan of the texture.) So maybe if you've got a kid or are otherwise curious about something it seems that they will let you sample at least the not-so-expensive things. This place may not be off a main road, but it is certainly not to be passed up if you need a new Mexican place.

There were several people already in line who were still looking at the menu, so they told us to cut the line. My sister and I both ordered the chicken kabob plate. Neither of us are big pita fans, so we didn't eat that, but everything else was delicious. The chicken was well cooked and succulent. The rice and potatoes were both seasoned to perfection, moist, and tasty. We were both pleasantly surprised by how good everything tasted. The salad was great too. It was fresh and offset the carbs perfectly. I had the Italian dressing which had a light and refreshing taste. We ordered takeout and ate the food a few hours later. It warmed up well at that time and the following day. The portion size is extremely generous, so there's enough food for a few meals if you tend to eat smaller meals. The restaurant is bright and comfortable. The service was fast and the gentleman that rang us out was very friendly. Both plates cost about twenty dollars, which is very reasonable for lunch. I'll definitely visit Just Kabob again!

My brother discovered Frank's Pizza after one of his coworkers recommended it. Ever since then,…read morehe's become a regular customer because of the good vibes, cheap eats, and drinks. He kept saying that he wanted me to try the pizza because he thought I'd like it. He said it reminded him of Fox's Pizza in Beverly, which is what we grew up on. Honestly, Frank's is somewhere I would've never gone without my brother's prompting. I don't frequent the area and rarely go to dive bars, but I was pleasantly surprised. The bar was quiet, clean, and comfortable. It's no frills for sure, but it's a bare-bones environment in the best way. My brother and a friend of ours were already there when I arrived. They'd already started a tab so, I just went to the bar and ordered. It was early (noon) so I didn't order alcohol. I only ordered Pepsi, but my brother and friend ordered drinks. They liked them and said they only cost $3.50. We ordered a large pepperoni and sausage pizza which arrived fairly quickly. it was piping hot too!! It was so hot that the cheese would just slide off the cracker-thin crust. The pizza was excellent though. My sister thought the cheese was too thick, but, I liked it. I thought it was fantastic. The meats were high quality and the sauce was tasty. Our friend liked it as well. The four of us ate the entire pizza. We visited on a Saturday afternoon, so the bar wasn't packed. There were a handful of regulars at the bar and a couple of people playing the slot machines. There was a baseball game playing on the TV, so it was fairly quiet. During peak hours I'd imagine that it gets pretty packed. The bartender and our server were cool, so I have no complaints about the service. I wouldn't say that Frank's pizza tastes like Fox's in Beverly, but I do understand why my bro made that comparison. They're both good for different reasons. I'd probably visit Frank's again in the future if given the choice.

I wanted to try this place out, but apparently they like wasting people's time. I went through all…read moreof the trouble of browsing their menu and placing an order only for them to cancel it because I'm out of their delivery area...I'm less than 6 miles away and the order was through Uber eats. It doesn't say anything about the restaurant delivering orders themselves so I doubt they are. Pizzas are overpriced anyway. You can tell they price their menu based on what's the easiest to make. Things like corn dogs are super cheap while things that require actual cooking skills and prep are much more expensive than they should be. Toppings are expensive as well and they don't change the pricing based on whether it's whole or half...it's all the same price. Update: Owner says "driving outside of our area for a delivery would compromise the food for you." Compromise what? The temperature? It's a delivery so that's a given and you aren't serving $400 foie gras. That also depends on how well you pack the food when delivering so you're kind of admitting that delivery isn't your forte. You also have the ability to set your delivery limits within the app if you are using your own staff to deliver so people don't waste their time ordering food only for you to cancel it.
