The perfect little diner right off of I5! Friendly service, good portions, and delicious food. A local spot - the servers were greeting everyone by name. The Turkey Club Sandwich was fantastic!

Restaurant was clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly provided great service. Location is convenient right off I-5. Food was well portioned, seasoned well, and tasty. Prices were reasonable.

The onion rings are made well. The onion doesn't come out with one bite. Good flavor.

The food was good. The service was good and it's a nice ambience. I got the all-American burger with a side of onion rings. The onion rings were very good and I recommend upgrading to the onion rings if you get a burger. All American burger was good and juicy. Everything you'd want from a burger.

Really great breakfast with friendly service. I got a very simple breakfast with potato's that were cooked perfectly as well as the bacon. They also melted the cheese on my potato's for me. For this little small town this breakfast spot is one to beat. If you are traveling on the 5 and you stop in Yreka don't forget about them. Great local environment, customer service and food !

A popular place for the locals today in late morning as I stopped for lunch after a great ride along the Klamath and Scott rivers.. The hash was made in-house with shredded corned beef and thin strips of potato. Hash browns or some other potatoes came with it but I chose fruit instead since there was also toast; rounding out the meal were two eggs. All very good. The server kept my coffee cup full. The interior is very plain with little decor and restaurant/industrial tables and chairs.

    Cute patio

Awesome service and great food!! We have a perfect meal with 10 of us on the patio!! The bacon infused waffles were awesome!

There's even a glass floor where you can watch water rushing underneath, which adds to the cool vibe. They've got a great beer selection featuring local California brews, and the coffee drinks are solid too. The food is hearty and flavorful. I tried the breakfast burrito and it was packed with hash browns, veggies, and pasture-raised eggs, definitely satisfying. They also offer vegan options like the tofu hoagie and vegan BLT, which is a nice touch. Portions are generous, and prices are fair for what you get. Service was friendly and welcoming, though a little slow at times, and seating can feel tight when it's busy. The board game café concept is fun, but there's a small fee to play, which might not be for everyone. Overall, The Wheelhouse is a great stop if you're passing through Dunsmuir or looking for a laid-back spot with good food and local charm. I'd definitely come back for the vibe and the beer selection!

The bacon comes crisp, the pancakes fluffy, the omelettes delicate, and the hash browns seared beautifully. Beyond that, they push their menu to incorporate delicious, more elevated ingredients. The smoked bacon omelette is a banger. If you like the carmelized flavor of French onion soup, you'll love this! So rich and deep with umami flavor, melding with diced bacon and fontina cheese. The Belgian waffle is also intense with bits of walnut and bacon baked in, which collides beautifully with hot maple syrup. So delicious! Lastly, I like to champion breakfast spots that have the courage to deliver expertly done hash browns. Breadboard doesn't even try, with the usual "home fries" cop-out (that nobody loves but will tolerate). Brothers serves hash browns, but they're usually soggy and falling apart. Not the case here. You get a nice, flat, crisp, rigid slab of hashbrowns, ready to accompany your main. Overall this is my number one spot for an Ashland breakfast. Definitely worth the small drive from downtown.

I am a tad arrogant, having access to the some of the best cuisine by living close to San Francisco. Now to be fair, their price point reflects what you see sitting on the plate before you. The service is polite. Ambiance is fun. I ran around in these train cars as a child while vacationing with family 30 years ago. My advice would be, go with what works. The previous owner had it going on, knew the territory so to speak. This place has "warning Will Robbinson" all over it, like sushi in Kansas. A tuckered out Fly Fisherman would prefer a great steak and baked potato. No shame in that, it is the pillar of American dining. If I want foo-foo, I will go to SFO. But then again, I think the food in Paris is "OK", (specifically their entrees) Paris has great bread, crackers and cheese. Alright, pastry, baguets, and fromage. All the offerings in Italy are amazing and the only thing to eat in the UK are chippies. The best "foo foo food" was Betlenut Pan-Asian on Union Street in San Francisco. Lost their lease however. THAT was the bom-d-idly. Hey if you want a fabulous steak, try Jacks in DT Redding. Great place, but you will wait an hour, maybe two. But it is worth the wait. Has an interesting provenance, the location and building itself, was a house of ill repute back in the FDR days, so the legend goes. Cafe Maddalena in Dunsmuir is excellent as well. This faux fusion/euro/cubano/too cool to be true... might make 2 years max. It is the epitome of "The fastest way to make a small fortune, out of a large fortune is to start a restaurant." Inherited money, I can smell it burning in the kitchen.
