We needed Amado in a hurry as we had a problem that couldn't wait or there would have been problems. Amado was called by my painter who was painting the house at the same time the garage door broke. The painter knew Amado and he was at our house within 15 minutes. He fixed what was needed to be fixed in a timely manner and made suggestions on why the door had been having problems. He is going to come back once we finish painting our house and have the garage door properly installed. It was never installed properly from the builder and our previous garage door repairmen never told us that and only fixed what needed to be fixed and went on their way. That way they could come back time and time again to fix problems we keep having as they weren't fixing the problem from the root of the evil. Amado told me honestly what the problem is and will fix it when we finish the painting. He wants to be fair and reasonable and do the job correctly and get to the root of the problem! My garage door was old and after several amateur repairs (made by me), it suddenly jumped off the track when I tried to close it. I called Gonzalez Garage Doors, and Amado, the owner, came out promptly to take a look. He said that he would not want to repair it, as it would probably break down again within a few days. He told me it needed to be replaced and quoted me a very reasonable price for a new door, new tracks, and new motor, including installation. I said I needed to think it over and asked if he could open the door so I could get my cars out of the garage. He did this willingly, although it took two men about 15 minutes to get the broken door somewhat back on the tracks and open all the way. At no time did he ask me for any payment for coming out to my house or for opening the broken door. I called him later that day and accepted his estimate to replace the entire system. He showed up at 7:30 Monday morning and had the new system completely installed within 3 hours. It works perfectly. Gonzalez is polite, efficient, trustworthy, and reasonable in price. I inherited an old garage opener system when I moved into my condo, so when my garage got stuck six inches from the bottom, I thought that the motor finally gave out. I called Gonzalez Garage Doors given the high ratings on Yelp and I'm glad I did. Amado was awesome as he responded within an hour. Turns out, the garage door got caught stuck on my car's open trunk (dumbest thing ever, I know). Good thing Amado figured that out quickly otherwise if I forced it, I would broken the garage opener and would have seriously damaged my car trunk. Amado got the trunk closed with a pole, and did a quick inspection of my garage system. He made a few adjustments to my springs, which were actually installed improperly. This explains why my motor struggles on occasion. He gave an honest appraisal of my system and told me the system is still in good condition. I'm extremely grateful for the quick rescue and the adjustments to my system. I can probably get another year or two out of it. He charged a reasonable price for the "emergency" rescue, which I gladly paid otherwise my car would be stuck in the garage. Amado is AWESOME!!! I called him last week to come out to take a look at my mother-in-law's garage door. I had tried to replace the springs myself with new ones I bought at Lowe's, but they sold me the wrong ones (they looked the same, and the nice man TOLD me they were the right ones). In the process, the brackets got bent (one-piece door) and it became a project I could no longer deal with. I called Amado in the morning and he came out that afternoon. When I told him what had happened, he kept the brackets on the door he was replacing that morning (replacing a one-piece door with a roll up) and brought them with him. In about an hour he replaced both bent brackets and the springs and got everything working as good as new. He saved me the price of a pair of new brackets and was very fair on the rest! read more

Amado came next day after I called and gave me two options: 1) fix it immediately and it would be good for another year or 2) install a new door and a new motor. His price was very reasonable for installation and I decided to have him install a new insulated door with windows. He ordered my choice of door and installed it within 4 business days. I made my first call to him Thursday afternoon, he came next day. On Tuesday early afternoon, the new door was installed and he set up an extra remote control for me. Needed to replace old wooden hinge-style garage door. Amado responded quickly, assessed the work needed and gave me a reasonable price. The job was not an easy one in that the garage floor was not level. It apparently was built with a 9" slope from left to right.
