Whoa, so I went out on Staten Island for a day and I didn't realize they had a hidden gem of gong cha tea out here. This location was comparable to the ones out in Manhattan and visiting from Cali where we measure boba per capita - this did not disappoint. You can even adjust the sweetness to your liking. I'm pretty picky about bubble tea but the brown sugar milk tea here was bomb. Would come back for a drink next time I'm in town. read more

Last Sunday I went shopping at staten island mall, after a while I started getting thirsty and tired, I was so surprised to find a new gong cha store open there. I'm Taiwanese and I LOVE their dirty brown sugar milk! The boba tastes just perfect, chewy but not too hard, the best part is that you can adjust the sweetness. it also had a delicious brown sugar taste which is the sweetness from. Their staffs were also very friendly. I enjoyed my experience and will recommend this gong cha. read more

I've been to other Gong Chas in NJ and they've always been great so it was really a shock to see how poorly run this one is. I ordered two drinks today and from the time of my receipt, it took the 2 girls making the drinks 15 minutes to make our order. The girl at the cashier was the only one actually working. There was only one couple ahead of us and we watched the girls goof off on their phone, chat with two friends that came by while the line for people waiting for their drinks grew and grew. One of them even made a phone call while they giggled and ignored the drink cups. They also had no idea which drink was for which order because they didn't care to look at the receipt numbers when they made them, a guy that ordered after us got his drink first. When the girl finally picked up the cup for our drink order she distracted herself TWICE to pick up her phone and text, completely ignorant to how many people were waiting. It was a fateful day in the mall when I saw a dashing gentleman in the Gong Cha booth. He was offering me the cool drink that I didn't know I needed on that sunny and balmy day. In fact, he was offering me BOGO drinks because of their grand opening that weekend. I pondered really hard if I should risk the long line of people who also found this offer (or man) quite attractive. However, they must have brought their best workers that day because I was in and out of their line double fisting bubble teas in less than five minutes. Were the drinks delicious? 4/7/22 First time visiting this Gong Cha at the Staten Island Mall, and yeah not good at all. I've been to so many branches in NYC and they are a lot better, trust me. I ordered a medium Earl Grey milk tea with bubbles and pudding. I don't know why the two workers added extra bubbles to my drink. I clearly watched them make it carefully because I have previous experience as a manager at another Gong Cha. The worker, Rommel and another worker that wasn't wearing a name tag, added the extra bubbles, which I did not requested, and added ice all the way to the top of the cup. I worked at a Gong Cha in Chinatown Manhattan a few years ago during my college days, and yet that's not how they're suppose to make drinks here at this location. The bubbles were not chew as you can see they were sticking as a BIG clump. Why would anyone serve bubbles like this to anyone? Tapioca bubbles only have a lifespan of 3-4 hours. If anyone is reading this, just do yourself a favor and stay away from here. There's better boba shops in Brooklyn, just pay the toll! read more

Bad boba. I decided to try this boba and it's not good. The tea itself is fine, the boba was undercooked and had no flavor. Usually when boba is in this brown sugar flavor or brown sugar based drinks it tastes a bit sweet and it's a nice texture. I don't recommend this boba at all, do yourself a favor and go to Vivi's or Kung Fu tea instead. HUGE let down. read more

So this is my second time going to Gong Cha in Staten Island mall. I asked for a mango yogurt with star lychee jelly. My boyfriend came back with a mango yogurt drink with coconut jelly. I went back to ask for what I initially wanted. The girl that was at the register was like it is the same as the lychee jelly and told me to give it a try. So I did and I didn't like the coconut flavor and then she told me it is pineapple flavor..... I'm like just make me a new drink because I don't like it. So I asked for mango yogurt with tapioca topping. I watched her pour the old drink into a new one and added tapioca in it. That defeats the purpose of making a "new" drink because the "pineapple or coconut" flavor is still in the drink. I was so frustrated with the service already, I just took the drink and it had no flavor whatsoever. So I just threw it out. I will not be coming back. read more

Its easy to order, the two workers yesterday there were so patient with me, helping me figure out what I wanted, asking if I wanted something fruity or milky, then allowing me to taste some toppings. I also have anxiety when it comes to people and the sweet girl at the register even waited for me to gather all my things and stood there for me to feel more calm before continuing to make my drink even when there was a male customer behind me.
