I've tried giving them a chance several times since they're in an area I frequent for work but they are severely understaffed. I get it's a small location but what's the point of having the self-order machines if the staff seems overwhelmed anyways (they don't take your orders here, unless you have to ask?) In the past I've come and they've had some younger folks working here (seemed like they didn't care about their job much). They were at least faster than whoever this newer, older lady is. It's only ever one lady working on her own every time I come in. She's always reading the recipes to make the drinks which slows her down a ton. Doesn't know the recipes I guess... Today I even downloaded the app knowing this place takes long. I ordered ahead at 12:03, says it should've been ready at 12:18pm. I came in at 12:20 and my drink wasn't ready. However, she was working on another online order (a girl who came to pick up at the same time as me) and another person walked in and ordered soon after. She's backed up but it still shouldn't take this long for boba... I asked around 12:28pm getting impatient because I have to go back to work if my order was ready since she gave the other girl part of her order. She asked what it was and I explained it was an online order that should've been ready 10 minutes ago. She told me she barely received it and I told her that wasn't true, I placed the order at 12:03. She continued trying to play it off and said she just got my order and that she was working on another online order. My order wasn't ready until 12:38, 20 minutes past the time it was supposed to be. When I explained that I ordered ahead of time because I have somewhere to be, she gave me an attitude. Disheartening that she couldn't just own up to not having my order ready. She ended up upgrading my drink to an XL instead of a L but it wasn't really worth it in the time I waited. It was also very sweet when I ordered 50% rather than 75 or 100. Also, the online ordering is useless because they take long regardless. If you want quick service like boba cafes should be, this isn't the place. The only reason I give them two stars is because the drinks taste decent (most of the time). read more

Came on a weekday night. There was plenty of parking and the place was packed. There's no seating area indoors, but there were outdoor tables outside. You order with their kiosk machine. The two workers there were busy making drinks and weren't taking orders at the register. There was a line for the kiosk. Got the extra large Matcha Smoothie for $8.50. The large size was $7.50, but the extra large size looked significantly larger for only a dollar more. They add 13 cents for convenience fee. Got the recommended 50% sweetness. Took about 10 minutes for our drinks. The drink was super sweet at 50%. Had to water down the drink for it to taste descent. Will not be returning since there's no indoor seating and they make their drinks way too sweet. read more

Was driving by and I gasped! I'm gonna sound like an idiot but I was under the impression Gong Chas weren't in this part of the US. Now that the embarrassing part is over. My fiancé and I stopped in since I told him I went all the way to Canada to visit a Gong Cha. He took me here and we got the seasonal drink Biscoff cookie and it was yummy! I have an issue with textures so the cookie bits were a bit odd with boba but still yummy. We also go the mochi strawberry waffle! I'm obsessed! I could eat those every day! Amy was the girl working and she was an absolute doll! She made this experience so memorable! And her alone made us want to come visit as much as we can. Sadly don't live in the area but come to visit at least once a month so I will for sure be back! As a straykids fan, definitely need to come back when Felix does more with the company. read more

It's a small shop inside where you can order at a kiosk or at the counter- but not enough space to stand in there if more people come in. I ordered a Marble Mango with boba. No one was inside so ordering & receiving my drink was fairly quick. The boba came out fresh, warm, & chewy. If you really like mango this is a drink for you. Was stoked to try out this boba spot in the AV. Coming inside, it's takeout style: walk in, order from kiosk, and staff make your order or answer any questions you have. Reccommended sugar and ice levels at the kiosks are automatically 50%. I put 30%, yet it still tastes very sweet and sugary. There's options to make it creamy or extra creamy, and extra creamy just means an extra scoop of the powder they use. I chose the taro milk tea (uncaffeinated) and I was very disappointed at how it tasted. My brother got the matcha strawberry drink, 30% sweet. He was also very disappointed and felt it tasted too sweet. Sadly, these $7 average drinks (no small size) both missed and tasted disappointing.. hopefully just a bad worker.. read more

I love this place and always have had a good experience but today was completely different. I don't know if the lady that was making the drinks was new or just mess up on purpose since I made a complaint about the "new app" when I was ordering. My receipt says her name is Amy Nguyen-Vo. My drinks were completely wrong and I didn't go back because I was almost home when I tasted them but my daughter's "marble strawberry" and my "marble mango" which is what I usually order, were completely watery instead of the purée consistency as always and they tasted nothing like strawberry or mango, we couldn't drink them and had to toss them down the sink. Sadly I will have to look for a new boba place. read more

I came to Gong Cha today to treat myself but was underwhelmed when I was told that most toppings or ingredients were out of stock. Looking at the menu I can see that their menu needs essential ingredients such as green tea or cold foam (which they didn't have). I've worked in little shops like this and know the lack of ingredients falls on management so I'm not sure what's going on there. You cannot sustain clientele if you can't provide. On top, they had no 'Gong Cha' cups and were using baskin robin cups instead. Not professional at all. But on a lighter note, the employee Sandy I believe her name was, gave excellent service. I wanted to give them my business, but this was very off-putting and makes me not want to go back there and tell others not to go too. This is my go-to boba place but lately they are always out of some ingredient or cups. When they were out of cups, it was replaced my smaller cups from the owner's other store ( Baskin Robbin's). This time, I ordered milk foam with my drink on their app, I go to pick it up, there is no milk foam. The worker just said they were out of milk foam. I explained that I had already paid for the milk foam so I need to be compensated. She shrugged and said that she couldn't give me a refund or anything else. read more

I order all drinks 50% sugar and 50% ice. I might need more ice with the Antelope Valley as it is. The staff were super friendly and mentioned that during the soft opening the hours are 12pm (noon) to 6pm! Very responsive and when I forgot how much sugar I usually get, the young gentleman suggest 50%! I then recalled I go 50/50 when I used to always frequent one of the Gong Cha in Irvine. Finally a PROPER boba place in the AV. (It's Boba Time is terrible IMO.) The storefront is straight business - just order and leave; no seating indoors. A sign at the counter says to order at the kiosk (there are 2) but I was able to order at the counter. The girl working there is attentive and friendly. I ordered Pearl Milk Tea ($6) and Oolong Milk tea ($6.45 with added boba), both 50% sweet. Both drinks are delicious and creamy. The pearls are chewy, not mushy, and taste infinitely better than the ones at It's Boba Time. I was worried that Palmdale would ruin even a reputable chain like Gong Cha but I'm beyond relieved that they are just as good here as any other Gong Cha branch I've been to. So glad to have a proper boba place to go to now in the AV! read more

Tried the ice teas, QQ passion fruit, milk foam oolong, and winter melon. They use fresh loose leaf, not that powder crap. It's really delicious and refreshing. I'm glad they came to the AV, probably one of the better boba spots. Employee was friendly, helpful, and explained stuff on the menu I've never heard of. Drink is great, service from the asian (Chinese, I think) woman is questionable. I think she might be the owner. She was quite rude to one of her staff, as she swiftly grabbed a cup from her hand. I'm not sure if she was having a rough day, but I've gotten negative vibes from her every time I've seen her there when I was ordering. She has issues with customers customizing their drinks. You'll hear from her about it. She is quite repetitive about it, too. She expects an easy business of not having to interact with customers, so if it's not on the menu, she makes it a big deal! That's a horrible policy to not be able to customize your drink! And, yet, there's a space in the Notes section of the ordering screen where you can leave customization comments or add-ons. Oh and don't bother bringing cash; it's a digital kiosk only. read more

This location is right next door to the Baskin Robbin icecream place so if you blink you might miss it. We came on a soft grand opening day. Only one staff working at the time. He was super helpful and nice. We order our drinks off a computerize screen. I'm old school so it got a little complicated for me but I'll catch up one day lol. The girl behind the register looked ready and available to take our order, but we were forced instead to use kiosks to place our order. The kiosks require a phone number for the order to be placed. Automatically signs you up for text messages without consent. The worker should have taken the order so we could ask for drink recommendations and have a more personable experience. We felt uncomfortable being there because the customer service was robotic like. The store was clean but had nowhere inside to consume the purchases. We didn't like any of the drinks we ordered. We typically like boba and tea style drinks, but these drinks were a miss for us. I wanted to like this place, but I don't think I'll ever come back - wasn't a good first impression. read more

Very small place but the drinks that we ordered were very enjoyable and don't expect to order from the person making the drinks, they have a couple or kiosks and are very easy to understand. Really tired of these "kiosk only" places. I don't use my card alot. I like to use cash for extra things through out the week. No where does it say cashless either. I wanted to ask the employee if they took cash at all but he was too busy flirting with the girl from baskin robbins to talk to us. No greet. No "do you need help". Nothing. He only said hello after we stood there for 10min. He also didn't give me my gift code I got with my order I had to go back in and get his attention to get it. Drinks were pretty bad too. The thai tea left a bad aftertaste. And nearly $20 for 3 medium ( very small medium ) drinks is crazy. Whole experience was terrible. Idk how these places stay in business. Oh yeah and their phone number doesn't work so don't bother but they FORCE you to sign up with your phone number to order! Literally no way around it. Ridiculous ownership here. read more
