Years ago, Allan G built me a framed board that I upholstered & added cup hooks to to hang my necklaces in my dressing room on (our 1950s house had NO closet space, so I made one of the bedrooms my IKEA-closeted paradise). However, in my new house, the fabric no longer worked where I wanted to put it. My new bedroom is in silver, gray, and very pale lilac-- sort of Jean Harlow 1930s glamour, so I was looking for some fabric with a nice shimmer or an actual metallic fabric. Found one! Absolutely gorgeous silvery print-- almost like a shantung. My cutter was super friendly and helpful (I can't think in metric). When she asked what I was creating, I had to explain that I had this board, and it was 24 x 26 inches...). When she told me the price I just about fell over, considering the exorbitant prices Fabricland charges. I think I paid around $22.00 for my find. They now have a customer for life, and I'll come back here FIRST before ever spending a dime in another Fabricland.

Once we eventually received all the items, there were incorrect items and missing items. They recently opened and are located in a strip mall in the West End just off of Stony Plain Road. On a Saturday afternoon, it was quiet in the store and I was able to learn more about the product from the staff person working. All the products are made in Japan and are typically used in daily life of Japanese people. It would also be great for those who visited or lived there and might be looking for the products. There are different sections within the store. On the left near the front are the housewares including great cups that look like cupcakes. Near the entrance there's a table full of colourful cloths which could be used as tablecloths, framed as art, or hung as a banner. Towards the back, there are coasters, printed toilet paper, small gym bags for a water bottle and towel, and there's an assortment of pens and highlighters. They have eraser on them! What a great idea and I picked one up to use when I write cards and make a mistake. Along the back wall are purses and bags, sandal socks (love the sushi ones), sandals, and kimonos. By the right wall are items for decorating the home including paper art that seems delicate but when water is added, they can be stuck on windows and reused! The store also carries earrings, masking tape, stationary including notebooks, medicine bags that I'll use to carry my jewelry when I travel, make up bags, coin purses, stamps, and stickers. I really enjoyed learning about the products from the staff, and picked up a gift and cool items for me too!

The service was really great. The staff will help you find the colour and size you need and bring it to you in the fitting room. The one woman who helped me brought me a few additional items to try on. I ended up getting two hoodies, sweatpants, and a dress. The dress was comfortable during my travels where The temperature fluctuated during the day and evening so I wore it with and without leggings and a hoodie which matched. The sweatpants come is various fits and the ones I got aren't too bag or too tight. The prices can be high without any discount so I would shop when there's a sale. Hoping the pieces will last me a few seasons as they are comfortable and keep me warm.

I'm not a hockey fan at all, so I had never been in this store before. A friendly worker (maybe owner) greeted me, when I walked in. This place was full of sports merchandise--mostly hockey, but there was some football and a bit of soccer stuff too. I really like the t-shirts of old school football teams. They were made so they looked "vintage." Lots of jerseys, hoodies, t-shirts, and a whole lot of caps lined the walls. There were a few large displays of Oilers merchandise, like yo-yos, keychains, mugs, pucks, clocks, toy cars--pretty much anything you can think of. If you're taking a…read morepottery class, you'll likely get a list of tools/supplies they tell you to pick up before the first class, and there will be a number of different stores on the list; but all the others are general art supply stores that have a pottery section. THIS place is 100% pottery, and has a much wider range of tools and things than you'll find anywhere else. In particular they are the only place you can buy the "Mudtools" brand flexible plastic rib tools which are absolutely the best for wheel work. In addition to tools they also sell a wide range of clay, glazes, underglazes, kilns and kiln supplies, and more. I'm sure every professional potter in Edmonton is very well acquainted with this store, and if you're just taking a few classes for fun, it may still be worth checking them out for the tools you'll need. (Get a red Mudtools rib for wheel work, definitely!)
