A smaller location of Roots focusing on leather goods and accessories. There is a decent amount of shirts, hats, etc. here as well.

Some leather stores, from the way they look, you can tell if they're high-end or cheaper. This…read moreplace is a bit confusing in the message it's sending out. From the outside it looks like a leather warehouse. It's plain and packed with racks of jackets and walls of purses and other leather accessories. But the prices are both high and low, the quality ranging from luxury to more run-of-the-mill leather goods. There's almost too much to wade through. There are no little vignettes, like you might see in a store like Danier. This is the kind of place they're just interested in moving stock, not enticing you with an aesthetic experience. I don't like the way this place smells. Some such stores smell like leather and tannin. This place smells a bit musty and chemically. It made me want to wade outta there as fast as possible. They have lots of Baby Phat jackets at the front, which don't really fit with the whole image of the store, and at the back they sell leather biker gear. This is not the place I'd choose to buy a leather jacket. The place just doesn't feel premium enough to warrant making a bigger purchase like a leather coat.

Leather Plus is one of the many leather goods stores around Edmonton. It has a lot of leather…read morebrands that I honestly haven't heard of before, which is common for many budget leather stores around town. I was here looking for a belt but I decided to get one elsewhere. I wasn't a fan of the style of belts they had, all of them seemed to look to same to me. The store is quite difficult to navigate through as well; it feels a bit crowded.

This was another decent place in Northgate Shopping Centre. The only problem with this store is…read moreit's location; it's located in Northgate and, therefore, probably doesn't get very much business. This is a good place if you like leather goods. They had some leather jackets on for about 30% off and they had both men and women styles. They also had some fur coats, but I'm not sure if they were real fur. They had a very large selection of handbags and purses, so if you are looking for a nice or high fashion looking bag or purse I suggest you give this place a try. I really liked some of their styles, but I really liked the colors they had. They had this really nice indigo kind of blue purse that I really liked. They had some belts on sale, one for $12, two for $20 and three for $25. They also had some nice looking luggage. The store was very well kept and the woman who was working there was really nice and friendly. I suggest you go in and give the place a look. They had some really great items and a lot of bags and purses to choose from. So if you're a bag lady then totally check this place out.

Every six months or so when my boyfriend decides to attempt laundry whilst half asleep inevitably…read morehe forgets to remove his wallet from his jeans and it ends up in the wash. A few times it hasn't survived the spin cycle and we have had to come into Romani to replace it. They have always carried the basic black wallet and even though it's a leather store I find their smaller goods like wallets and belts to be fairly affordable. I decided to come in on my own today as I had been thinking about picking up a new purse and I had some time to kill before meeting someone upstairs in the foodcourt. Some of the purses are fairly nice whilst others are to quote Jeanette B. "cheesey". I am not a big fan of knock off designer brands either and there were a few here that seemed to be trying to imitate Chanel. There are some things here however that are authentic brand name but just out of season. Seasonal trends have never really concerned me though so I picked up a pink Dereon clutch bag and opened it up to see if it was one of those ones with a chain included to turn it into a handbag. It was not but the lady working the register came over when she saw me showing some interest and started trying to pressure me into buying saying the gentleman in the store next door could alter it to hold a chain then went to dig out a chain for me before I had even committed to buying. Don't get me wrong I appreciated the fact that she was willing to give me a purse chain at no charge but I hate being pressured and ignored when I say im just looking or trying to make a decision. I finally decided to purchase it as I do like Dereon products and admittedly it was a great deal at $25.00 including tax. I did regret the purchase shortly after however as once I got over to the alteration place the gentleman working there informed me it would be $5.00 not including eyelets on the side to stop the chain from wearing away at the holes which would cost another $8.00. While it wasn't a huge dollar amount it was still way more then what I was told by the woman at Romani who told me that he usually just charges $1.00 and sometimes doesn't even charge at all. If you don't know how much he is going to charge me then simply tell me you don't know....don't give me a low ball figure just because you want to further entice me to make a purchase. I am really hoping my hunny will stop murdering his wallets so we don't have to come back in here....
