They have really built a solid business based on customer service and helping any type of golfer to play their best game. They are in a transition period, but have continued to provide the best experience in golf retail by hiring and training a solid crop of new employees to carry on the tradition. It's actually a multi-generational group of golf mad employees; Andy, Max, Andrew, Jeff, Dick, Jerry and "Curly". You really don't have to "see Joel for a deal" anymore, he and Davey have attracted a lot of enthusiastic golf employees who have taken over the responsibilities for running the best golf shop that I've ever been to, and I've visited many of them from coast to coast in my career. If you are a new golfer or an older golfer, you can always find someone there to help you improve your game, or find something to satisfy the "golf itch" that we all have, to enjoy the greatest game ever invented. My apologies if I forgot to mention all the other employees there, I just don't know their names, but when you see them interact with customers, you just know that they are good listeners and also do not ever pressure them, or "BS" them into getting something that won't be useful to them. I was happy to see them come back to their new store in Greenway. Walking through the store, it was clear that it was still very new. I felt like the first customer in there! As with the old store, you'll find plenty of options to shop - all the big brands for clubs, shoes, clothing, etc. There are simulators in the back where you can get help with your swing, or get fitted for new clubs. One thing I loved about the old location was the selection of used clubs - I'm not always keen on dropping big bucks on the newest models, but if I can find a nice deal on a gently-used club (with all the bad hits out of it, I assume!), I'm happy. As this store goes through a few seasons, the supply of used clubs will grow. The staff were super helpful and very friendly. Add Golf Galaxy back to my "stores to check out as I'm buying golf gear" list!

Fitting: easy to set up appointment. Met with Matt Hanson in late May to get fitted for new irons…read more My irons (Callaway X-22 w True Temper 115 gram steel shafts) were beginning to feel "heavy" and I was losing serious distance. The entire fitting was done with various combinations of heads and shafts of a six iron. I easily hit over 100 balls using a sophisticated golf ball/swing tracking system. Although I was virtually certain I needed graphite shafts, the numbers and charts didn't lie: a lighter weight *steel* shaft (75 grams) was significantly and obviously more accurate on mishits (especially off the toe) and performed as well as the light weight graphite shafts on a "pure" hit. Everybody is going to be different, but I ended up buying Titleist T - 300 "game improvement" irons (4-SW) with lightweight Nippon steel shafts. Results: the clubs arrived a few weeks later (on time) and I've now played them for two months. I've posted 6 9-hole rounds and 2 18 hole rounds. The new irons are clearly and consistently one to one and a half clubs longer. They are amazingly straight on mishits, especially off the toe. So... With my old irons I was usually hitting less than three GIR for nine holes. I'm now consistently hitting between four and six GIR for nine holes. That's a huge difference. Scoring has gone from mid to upper 80s to upper 70s to low 80s. I have more and more often hit the clubs "pure" and the anecdotal evidence is kind of amazing in terms of how solid it feels and how long the ball goes. (My irons are not turned down for longer distance based on lower trajectory, but they are going significantly further... As much as 20 to 25 yards on occasion.) So... Yeah. Very satisfied. Matt did an excellent job of fitting clubs for me. Should've done this 10 years ago. Demographics: I am 74, playing to an 17 GHIN index, but trending down w these irons.

I received an e-mail stating: Don't miss out on your membership reward. Free loft and lie adjustments for the life of your Club Champion Irons putter & wedges. I also scheduled a wedge fitting as I thought I needed a 60 degree wedge. It is my pleasure to give Kenan Hamadi -Master Fitter & Builder a 5- star rating. Reasons Listed Below: 1) Completed all irons, wedges & Kenan made a minor adjustment on one of my irons. Kenan explained the adjustment. 2) The iron having the minor adjustment, I hit some balls and Kenan stated everything is OK. 3) The 60 degree wedge was a personal fitting having an adjustment so it would be like a 61 Degree. Kenan stated this wedge will complete the missing gap yards you need. 4) Kenan reviewed the specs of my Ping woods and tighten the heads. Kenan stated everything is OK. 5) I had a concern on my ball flight when hitting my Ping Driver. I hit alot of balls and Kenan stated everything is OK. I was out of town on black Friday and entered the store when they opened on Saturday. I was told that the sale was only on black Friday. I asked the salesman and he apoliged for not telling me but he couldnt give me the price. The manager said the same. Pretty sad. They could have easily given me the price since I obviously would have bought them the day before. Not very honorable people.
