It's been about 3 years since I wrote the first review here…read more I went on a Wednesday morning in early June and the place was packed with youngsters taking lessons. I rented a top tracer bay and a bucket of balls. The top tracer has been added since my first visit so I decided to give it ago. I've done top tracer before so I had some familiarity of how it works. It was only an extra $5 bucks. It tracks your ball speed, carry distance and roll out, launch angle and apex. It will also indicate your accuracy on a line of distance you set. I really liked it and would recommend it for just a practice session. The only down side is you're hitting off a mat and rubber tee. The guy at the service desk was challenging to communicate with. I had to ask him several times, phrased differently about HOW many balls are in a medium bucket. I was not able to putt because there were so many kids on the putting greens. I probably should have called ahead to see if it was 'lesson day' but I expect during the summer it's busy.

I…read morepaid $20 to play the 9 holes twice, but the experience was so bad that I feel like I threw my money away. The tee boxes/mats were in really bad condition. Additionally, the placement of hole 3's tee box was incredibly confusing AND dangerous. Hole 3's tee box is in the direct line of those teeing off hole 9. As for the putting greens, oh my goodness, they were horrific. They were covered with so many golf ball-sized green broccoli head growths.. so my putts bounced and zigzagged. It was really annoying. Oh, and the hole cups were giant. In other words, you can't practice anything: no speed, distance, or control. You won't be leaving a better golfer at all. It's extra sad because this establishment has so much potential. Actually, I don't know. There's A LOT that needs fixing. :(

It's been four years since my last review & the 'first' review for this retailer…read more I've been playing a lot of golf the last 5 years since I retired and it takes some $ to replenish balls, tees, towels, shoes, belts etc, etc and it ain't cheap! You go here for the variety and selection of gear. If you check their website before driving in you'll find they have a good one with up to date info and prices. All the walking and I've lost about 35 pounds the last two years so I needed some new belts. They have a brand called Laze which I like. Lot's of variety, decent prices and the seem to last. I also like that you can 'join their frequent purchase' program and save some cash. They really don't put much of their clothing on sale during the season but that's to be expected. You will find they will be stocking the latest and greatest in most all the golf gear you're looking for, especially golf balls, you will pay a bit more because the won't be available at a discount on Amazon yet. I like to get there "EARLY' because it gets very crowded on the weekends. It was well staffed at check-out and I was able to get in/out real quick without a wait in line. Everyone was nice and helpful. As I suspected in my first post, the other Golf gear store in the same shopping center went out of business.

Once again, writing a FIVE star review for this locally and independently owned golf shop…read more Acquired a new putter, Odyssey Rossi, needed to have it cut down to 34 inches and a new grip added. I called early on Wed morning and asked about the SuperStroke Zynergy Pistol. They had it in stock so I when I showed up they were not to busy. I was assisted by Matt Smith who helped me pick out the right size grip, did a quick measure on the club length and said it would be a few minutes. I walked next door to Home Depot for a few minutes and by the time I got back it was all done. I asked Mr Smith about Vet discount, he said "I'm sorry, I apologize we don't have that" He was sincere about it and it wasn't the first time I heard that. It was a great experience and so I recommend these guys once again. You won't be disappointed!

I went to the store on Thursday April 23rd at 6:45 PM expecting to leave my clubs with a request for a rush job for pick up on Friday as the store closes at 7 PM. Dalton (club technician) and Chandler (Ass't Mgr.) immediately swung into action (no pun intended) and put the new grips on right away. I was out the door at 7:05 that same evening. They saved me the time and headache of a return visit to pick my clubs up on Friday and didn't think about the fact they were inconvenienced by staying a few extra minutes to accommodate me. It is rare to have such a great experience and I am most appreciative. Edwin Watts certainly earned my loyalty from that.

Also this is meant to provide constructive feedback in hopes that management/area director and leadership at Lifetime read this- finally these are constant grievances of mine, others on this feed and I have been a member for more than 3 years. Additionally, I've experienced the brand new top shelf Lifetime in Cary NC...world of difference in service, equipment (of course new) , AND true spa like feel in the men's locker room...down to lockers have 'bumpers' on them so when they are shut they are quiet. 1. NOISE! Men's spa area is so loud I have to wear airbuds to escape the constant yammering of others in the steam and sauna. 2. Tired Equipment and in consistent amenities- I joined for the quality of equipment and mainly access to steam and dry sauna- Equipment is worn out...bikes, cable machines, benches, accessories for gym equipment in general need replacement. Machines sit dormant waiting for repair often...and Steam room is constantly inconsistent and temperatures in dry sauna are below recommended temps. Did I also mention how LOUD it is in the 'Quiet Area.' 3. Towel service is 1 STAR....and unacceptable. Last night and many days/nights the shelves in the locker area are bare with NO TOWELS....I literally had to walk the locker room to find a clean towel to dry off with. 4. Family Friendly. YES! It should be...but now that school/college is on summer break the gym experience is fraught with kids being kids.. from locker room to gym floors...absolute chaos... 5. Showers- The entire shower area is a mess a lot of the time, but especially last night....walk into a shower and someone left towels inside stall....No attendants cleaning up or restocking towels...counters full of water, etc. NOT A PREMIUM EXPERIENCE! I truly enjoy investing in my health and consider Lifetime a splurge in my budget....BUT I continually leave shaking my head at the level of service...quality...and inconsistency....even the 'simple things' from a staff person, like Have a good night...hope you had a nice workout. It would be nice to have persons on the floor assisting 'newbies' with workout tips or offering assistance in using the equipment.

Life Time keeps bringing in more members and guests without increasing the number of machines. The…read moregym is now comically overcrowded unless you arrive around 5 a.m. The men's locker room has also been disgusting for the past few months: the floor is constantly soaking wet and dirty. The new guest policy is ridiculous as well. Not being able to bring the same person back for 60 days makes the guest passes practically USELESS. I simply wanted to bring the same friend occasionally so we could play tennis together. Between the overcrowding, declining cleanliness, and worsening guest policy, the membership is no longer worth the price.

Awesome mini golf course! We played many times when in spring or summer, with their pirate theme…read more It is a fun course with a few water traps. The holiday lights were fabulous! They did an amazing job decorating and making it look beautiful. We had to wait for an hour on the first night but the time moves fast, and they have a bar and cornhole game while you wait. Busy for holidays we went at 5 pm and parked nearby and walked over to the mini golf course. Nice place to play with families!
