Me & Ron back on 10/10/24 for some Fall golf. We were hoping…read moreto see some color in the leaves but too early. What we did find were exceptional greens and wide open fairways in excellent condition. This is a shot makers course and if you don't stay in the fairway you'll be looking for your ball among the pine cones and good luck with that. The previous Head Pro, Matt has moved on to Piney Point in Norwood, NC. The new guy is Wally Moore. There are also two new ladies in the Pro Shop, Kayla and Melissa who are very efficient at getting you in and out. The range, chipping and putting practice areas are all in great condition. It was sunny day, a little on the cool side at 61 degrees for a 10a tee time with wind gusting to 27 mph. We had great pace of play and finished the front in 2 hours, it had warmed up to 67 and the wind was down. We made the turn and kept on playing as the group in front of us moving so we were able to play ready golf and complete the round in 4 hours. They advertise to allow 4.5 hours for 18 holes. Since this was my third time playing in 3 years, I had some course knowledge which made a big difference, especially on #11, 452 yard par 5. It's a blind shot until you're about 200 yards out and then you can see the edge of the pond that juts out to the right. You have a decision to make. Go over the water or play to the right & avoid the pond on your left and have 200 yards of open fairway to the pin. It's a large green so a well placed shot will give you a great birdie opportunity. I would play here more often but it's a 40+ mile trek through Charlotte traffic but it's worth it.

The Golf Course is awesome and in great shape...the staff is always kind & helpful....Gary Sweeneyread more

I've been reading some good reviews about the upgrades to this course, including the addition of…read morethe Diamond Zoysia greens so it's been on my list of courses to play. Today it got checked off. I had a 12n Tuesday tee time and the weather was perfect for golf. When I got there at 11am to hit some balls off the driving range, I learned it was closed for some repairs. The Pro Shop guy said I could go ahead and start if I was ready so I did. This course plays very well. The fairways are in great shape and the course is wide open for the most part. There are some narrow fairways but maybe just a couple. There are just a few holes that leave you with a blind shot on the doglegs. I've never played on Diamond Zoysia so I wasn't sure what to expect. Just about a month in to the install and they still have a ways to go. It's almost like playing on green and silver sand with a little grass thrown in. It was very difficult to get a read on your putts. I especially liked the Par 3's on both sides, very accessible and set up nicely. I especially liked #18 which they consider their 'signature' hole. Which is 524 yards from the White tees. You have to go over a little creek to a landing area and then over a little pond to the green. It's visually appealing and wide open with all the water. There were several tee boxes that were in poor repair and in some cases just no grass at all, just bare dirt. That was disappointing to see. They get $32 riding for a Sr during the week which isn't bad. Their carts are gas and they keep them all clean and are following COVID guidelines. All the Staff I came in contact with were friendly and professional. Shout out to Gary who gave me some guidelines on some of the holes. I would highly recommend this course.

I researched several area clubs before joining Verdict Ridge and ultimately joined this fall during…read morethe initial information call--without ever seeing the course in person. I already knew its reputation and had read countless reviews, and after a few months as a member, I couldn't be happier with my decision. The course is immaculate, and I can't wait to see it in full color this spring. I've already attended several club events, all of which have been a lot of fun. The staff is consistently friendly and professional, and the pro shop is well stocked with a great selection of logo apparel, clubs, and accessories. Mike Zhiss has been fantastic in answering membership questions, and I've had three lessons so far with Jim Lusk, the Head Professional, with plans to continue working with him weekly for the foreseeable future. Scott, the General Manager, has also done an excellent job making my wife and family feel welcome. Guilties Bistro deserves special recognition. Whether you're just looking to enjoy a cocktail after a round of golf or sit down for a full dining experience, Guilties delivers. The food is phenomenal, the presentation is excellent, and the service is outstanding. The daily food specials offer a wide variety and are consistently creative, fresh, and well executed--this is a place you genuinely look forward to visiting, not just a convenient clubhouse option. If you're looking for a family-friendly club with a top-tier course and a welcoming atmosphere, Verdict Ridge should absolutely be on your list to tour. Give Mike a call.
