Once again, writing a FIVE star review for this locally and independently owned golf shop. Acquired a new putter, Odyssey Rossi, needed to have it cut down to 34 inches and a new grip added. I called early on Wed morning and asked about the SuperStroke Zynergy Pistol. They had it in stock so I when I showed up they were not to busy. I was assisted by Matt Smith who helped me pick out the right size grip, did a quick measure on the club length and said it would be a few minutes. I walked next door to Home Depot for a few minutes and by the time I got back it was all done. I asked Mr Smith about Vet discount, he said "I'm sorry, I apologize we don't have that" He was sincere about it and it wasn't the first time I heard that. It was a great experience and so I recommend these guys once again. You won't be disappointed! read more

I really wanted to like this place! But I feel like they were extremely overpriced, and part of the maybe because of the publicity from their Scratch Golf show appearance. :/ Found it hard to believe Golf Clubhouses were cheaper with used sets unfortunately. Staff was INCREDIBLY friendly and extremely helpful though, will I be back? Most likely not but it was awesome to go check it out!! read more

Greater golf, Xpress has a good collection of irons clubs and drivers. However, I must say that the customer service and business policies are not honest. I'm sure they mean well but on multiple occasions of being there the same situation occurred. Whenever myself and a friend of mine, purchased a driver, they did not mention that it came with a free head cover. We had to specifically ask. They had a huge crate of used head covers that are basically worthless, but they failed to mention this to me, and my friend, on both occasions, had I not been told by my uncle, who had been there many times we would've never known . I don't want to jump to any conclusions, but one can only wonder. read more

I purchased 2 Bionic gloves through eBay from Greater Golf Express and on the first round of playing, they both tore at the wrist and at the finger/palm interface. I took pics and sent them a message and to my surprise, they called me an hour later to get more info. They replaced both at no charge and have gotten themselves a dedicated customer in the process. NO "PGA TOUR CARD"? DON'T BOTHER! good place to get gloves, balls and clubs (assuming you know what you want) But the service is AWFUL! They are rude, arrogant and look down their nose at you if you ask a basic question about the game golf. In other words, if you're a beginner or just a weekend golfer, this is not the place for you. Unprofessional. I ordered a Cleveland wedge through their website. Was delivered with a different grip than advertised as well as a $39.99 price tag attached. I paid 59.99 + tax + ship. I figured it was a mix up but through 2 emails and over 3 weeks I have zero response from them. read more

I just played my first round with my irons I bought the other day. The staff at GGF definitely pointed me in the right direction with the used set of Mizuno's I purchased. Once I described the issue with my current clubs they went straight to the Mizuno's with a lower kick shaft. It really made a difference. No more balloon shots. They know their stuff. read more

Went in to get 5 clubs re-gripped. Honestly there was probably 4 guys working and I picked out the grips and let the guy know. He told me it would be about an hour. I was fine with that because I knew he probably had other clubs to do before mine. As I'm walking around the store I notice he was back there eating food that another co-worker brought him. As soon as I saw that I just got my clubs and left. Won't be buying anything from here again. Ended up taking my clubs to get re-gripped at golf galaxy and I was out in 15 minutes. read more

Be very careful. These guys are good at the con. The prices are all marked up way beyond normal, especially their pre-owned clubs. Returns are difficult, if at all possible. It seems to me that everything in the store is either very old, bought at some auction. or bought from some flood zone. It is truly a shame because the Charlotte area really needs a good, honest place to but golf equipment. read more

The only reason I gave it one star was because of Willis, do not deal with George, he sells you clubs one week and offers you half of what you paid the next. Would not work with Titleist rep to return two week old clubs. Go to a bigger store if you are looking to buy new clubs! They offer what is called a player warranty! Always ask if they offer this 90 day return. George said there is no such thing! He correct, he doesn't offer it. Go somewhere were they stand behind their products! Always ask before buying but not here! read more

Brought three clubs there for repairs, owner was helpful and after a mix up with one of my repairs he even delivered the club to my house.

Incredibly poor service and dishonest to boot. Dropped a club off to be re-shafted and they put the wrong shaft in. After going to pick it up and seeing the wrong shaft I was given a multitude of excuses about why they could not provide the correct shaft, including punting the issue to someone else who wasn't around. One of the employees asked if I would allow them to install a used shaft from a 7 iron--my club getting repaired was a pitching wedge. I explained the difference in weight and kick point and was told to call later. After calling was told that they "purchased a used shaft from a competitor" and installed it. I asked if it was a pitching wedge shaft and that was confirmed. Went to pick up my club and it was obvious they used the 7 iron shaft and cut it down. Then on my way out they decided to lie one more time to try and explain the label placement. Completely blown away at the unprofessionalism and dishonesty displayed at this store. Went here to support a local business and should have gone to Golf Galaxy. read more

My son broke his 7 iron in a tournament and only had a few days before he was to leave for another tournament out of town. We needed a new shaft and a quick repair. GGE was able to put in a new shaft and he was able to have the club prior to leaving town. Awesome service. read more

I finally found the golf club set of my dreams! Thanks to George! Women if you are tired getting treated poorly or ignored at all the regular golf shops, then come here!! I stopped by this place due to proximity of the house. I went in and immediately I was acknowledged. As a female in a golf stores, its only a quick hello then theyre off and away never to be seen again. Usually 99% of the time you go in and look awhile but don't get help, then walk out. I'm about to buy a nice set you'd think places would be more responsive. Now they didn't have the computer to measure your swing but the gentlemen there are very knowledgeable and gave me great feedback. I was able to pick a set. They fit them for you in same day or next day. I usually look at prices online while I'm shopping to get an idea of where they stand. The customer service was so excellent and responsive I really didn't bother at the store. But then when I came home I thought I better just for sanity check. I was elated to find out I got a heck of a good deal. Yes I'm going back tomorrow to buy accessories. They just earned a loyal customer. I don't live around here but they were able to recommend a good vendor in my state. I'm really impressed w this place. They are eager to take care of customers. When I was there, there was a man who seemed skeptical of their niceness and I think mistook them for eager salesperson. They are just genuinely nice people w good prices and know their business!! read more

I would highly recommend Greater Golf Express. I wanted to buy my husband golf clubs for Christmas and of course this isn't a gift I can just go out and buy, so he went with me. We went to three stores prior o visiting Greater Golf Express...store #1: only had 5 sets of clubs to choose from, store #2: customer service was lacking and not much selection again, store #3: better selection but just not what he wanted. A co-worker suggested Greater Golf Express so we went to check it out. WOW! was my first thought. HUGE selection, customer service was A+ and they had a golf pro on hand to make sure my husband picked out the perfect set for him. I could tell many regulars were there too because the employees knew them by their first name. I know that if my husband needs shoes, golf balls, tees or anything... this will be his first and only stop. Thank you Greater Golf Express for helping us make the perfect purchase. read more
