We had bad service and for a $70 Steak or a $70 steak and lobster we want excellent food. We waited a while for water, drinks and for someone to take our order. Normally I would expect to wait a little while, but not for water and a drink. The steak was a veiny tasteless t-bone very tough to cut and full of tendons and fat. I mean I have had T-bones before is it normal to not be able to cut through it then when you do a tendon pulls out of it like a white worm? The lobster was a mushy piece of garbage. Anyways we got a tiny discount and a free drink. We were trying to have a good time so I didn't make a big deal out of it. But for $200 I would have rather gone to the last straw and had a nice steak sandwich, good service and $125 left in our pockets. For other reasons we have not eaten here for years. When we arrived at the front of the restaurant,we were met with Maria. She noticed that we had brought a bottle of wine with us. She indicated that they do not allow guests to bring their own wine. We explained to her that we are wine club members and like to bring a bottle to enjoy at special occasions. We also told her that we had no problem doing this at the Diplomat restaurant a few weeks ago. We just paid a corkage fee. She said that she would allow it this one time but not again. We did not mean to insult the restaurant's wine selection. We felt as though we were being chastised as children.We just know what we like. The meal was average. Prime rib was not cooked to my expectation. We had to ask for garlic bread which arrived after the salad course. All in all, we did not have the same good quality experience that we enjoyed at The Diplomat. We won't be dining at Golf's any time soon if ever. read more

**3.5 stars** Came here for a business lunch and was immediately taken aback by how cramped the space felt. Apparently it was an old funeral home that got refitted to be a restaurant. I guess I could see that. But for some reason, the ceilings along the booths is pretty short compared to the rest of the place. The lack of windows and the cramped arrangement of some of the tables and chairs also doesn't help the perception of being claustrophobic. However, if you could get over that, the service and food were pretty good. I had the lunch special (changes every day): Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken breast. Both the pasta and the chicken were soft and tender. The alfredo sauce was just right amount without being too creamy and having to fish around for chicken or pasta. In a word: Superb! Definitely no room for excess bread. My dining mates had the beef dip and completely devoured it. I'll be in Regina a few more times over the course of the year so I'll likely come back and test this place's steak "chops" for dinner (pun intended). read more

Golf's has a unique ambience and look about it, kind of old world Shakespearean, but that's all it has going for it. From its grand appearance both inside and out, it seems like the meal would be memorable but it turned out to be rather disappointing. Interestingly enough for a steakhouse, I had the pepper steak but definitely had better elsewhere. My steak was tougher than I would have liked it; everyone else in my party seemed to enjoy the seafood though. Serving portions are quite large, and the baked alaska is rather impressive, I must say. Definitely big enough to share between 3-4 people. Service was decent and friendly, though they cleared my boss' plate before he was done. Unfortunately, the service and decor combined still cannot shake my disappointment enough to change the 2-star rating for this place. read more

I don't eat meat and the menu was very meat heavy. the 'special' veggie plate was bland and if I had to guess the veggies started as a frozen bag. The garlic toast was good! Similar to the Keg franchise. Golf's steak house offers a variety of different steaks and meats like a standard grill restaurant. It has an upscale feel and appears larger inside than outside. Each meal comes with a daily soup and salad and it was definitely only the better meals I've had in Regina but overall the meal wasn't anything spectacular. read more

We picked 1 star because there are no negative stars. This was the WORST experience in our lives. First, the decor is creepy. The menu has no prices and therefore they can charge anything they like and we can't decide for ourselves. We ordered steak and lobster and OMG what a waste of money. The lobster was so tough, neither my husband nor myself could chew it. The steak was just as tough and we could barely cut it, let alone chew it. The potato was decent but the vegetables were gross - to say the least. We didn't complain but when we received our bill, we still wanted to tip our waitress but were shocked to see that a mandatory $25 tip was already added to our bill. This is unacceptable as the service might have been good, as the waitress didn't have control of the kitchen, but the food was horrendous. We don't recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

I have ate at Golf's twice and, sadly, had a disappointing experience both times. The first time there was a group of four of us for lunch. While I can't be too critical of the service during a busy weekday lunch hour, the poor food we had wasn't as easy to shrug off. My wife had chicken fingers and I had some sort of pasta (I know, I know... its a steak house). Her chicken fingers were overcooked to the point they were hard to bite into and my pasta was undercooked, also making it hard and not enjoyably to eat. We wanted to give Golfs another chance since it is a very popular place with the business class and we likely just had some bad luck. The second time we had a supper reservation for 7:00pm. We showed up at 6:55 and actually had to wait almost 20 minutes for our table, and that isn't the worst of it. The guy seating us started taking us to our table (by the fireplace) at about 7:10 before noticing there were still people seated there. He then awkwardly stated loud enough for them to hear "Don't worry, they'll be done soon". We waited another 5-10 minutes before getting seated, then noticed they actually moved the people, that weren't even close to being done, to the table next to us. This time we both ordered steaks and they were very good. Summery Good: Good Steak. Bad: Food quality seems hit and miss. Waiting almost 20 minutes for a reservation kind of defeats the point of making one. Showed class becoming of a McDonald's not a Steak House. This place is in desperate need of a renovation, EXTREMELY outdated. I understand that it's a cozy atmosphere that their regular business customers are accustomed too but its time to move on, really. Their 'waiting area' I'm sure is just a converted booth and you don't realize when you're in there but the pictures hanging up are actually just covering up the decorative holes in the divider. If you're you're seated behind the 'waiting area' you're actually looking at the back of the picture frame... I ordered steak and lobster @$65.00 my steak was as tough as a leather glove and my lobster was as rubbery as a rubber ball...the veggies on my plate were so overcooked they were slimy! The entire experience tonight was extraordinary. From greeting at the door to dessert the service was on point and yes, the food was wonderful both in flavour and presentation. Decor has been brightened up and overall table conversation was only politely interrupted by service. My favourite steakhouse in Regina, Golf's is always a must go to spot when I'm in town. The service is great and the value is incredible. Every entree comes with garlic toast, soup, and a salad, and are very reasonably priced. I had the 18oz rib steak and it was incredible, a perfect medium cook. At only $48 it's tough to beat. We also got a few orders of the cheese bread which never disappoints. This was my third time going to this steakhouse and the service and food are always consistent and amazing. read more

I was looking forward to my visit after I was told that this was one of the better restaurants in Regina. I travel for work and have the opportunity to visit many restaurants and I can tell you that taste of the food was fairy the value and quality for the money was not to the level that I expected. If you are going to charge those prices then I would suggest that the owner or manager go and visit a few restaurants to gauge on value, quality and presentation. For example: if you order a shrimp cocktail and compare For $18 and you compare it to the $16 shrimp cocktails the Keg you would be disappointed in the size and taste of the Shrimp at Golf's. 5 shrimp in the 16-20 size range when for that price they really should be 8-12's. I also ordered the Peppercorn New York and the steak was tender but the presentation and the vegetables that I received were definitely not up to the level that you would expect. The exterior and interior set you up for a real steakhouse experience. Very nice. Beautiful art. I tried not to be oversold, and anticipated disappointment. Service-impeccable. Food-great. Regal interior. Soft jazz/ez-listening music. Nice. My steak and lobster came with lots of stuff. I'm not a big eater, and planned to leave behind some of the soup, Caesar salad etc, but I couldn't NOT eat all of it. Very good. The location on Victoria Avenue is very convenient for downtown business lunches. I like that they have kept some of the classic steakhouse touches at the back of the restaurant while completely renovating the front. They understand how business lunches. It is quiet. The service is friendly and efficient. We were seated and our orders were taken quickly. As expected, the steaks at this steakhouse were perfectly prepared. The food was good and the service allowed us to have a good lunch, finish our meeting and get back to work in an hour. read more

This is probably our favourite place to go for a splurge date night,have great wine and champagne. the wait staff is great and the food is amazing. The French onion soup is the best we've ever had. Usually get the appetizer platter, but we tried the calamari and the specialty gourmet dinner for 2 tonight. The calamari was not the best, we've had better at our local bar in Weyburn. It was disappointing because I was starving and I've had good food here before.
