Well, looks like I am the first to review this dump, and unfortunately it's the old UNO for Golfer's Warehouse. To be fair, I went to their website to complain about their less than honest employee, Chai Ritchie, but they do not have an outlet to serve that purpose, so Yelp is the default.
I went here a while ago with two Titleist irons and a titleist wedge. Upon entereing the store I was aggressively approached by Chai Ritchie. I expressed to Chai Ritchie that I wanted the clubs sent to Titleist to have the clubs reshafted. Having the proper flex was important and I knew that different brands may have different flexes so I was pretty set on having them sent to Titleist to be repaired.
Upon my consultation with Chai Ritchie, he informed me that Titleist was "really slow" and that the replacement shafts were "extremely expensive". How expensive I asked? "Sixty dollars a piece" replied Chai Ritchie. And how long to get the clubs back from Titleist I asked? "Four to five weeks" replied Chai Ritchie.
Well, Chai Ritchie was right. That was too expensive for me and much too long to wait. So I said, you know what?: this Chai Ritchie knows what he is talking about and I am going to tell him what I want as far as flex, price, and time for repair and I'm sure Chai Ritchie will make it happen. And sure enough Chai insisted that the clubs could be fixed in half the time at just over half the price. He quoted me a two week repair time and $100 fee.
So three weeks go by, no clubs, no phone call. I call Golfer's Warehouse and ask for Chai Ritchie. A few moments later Chai picks up and I politely say, "Hey Chai! It's Matthew S. just checking on my Titleist irons and wedge". He responds, "Look pal, it's Chai, not Guy".
Well, not off to a good start after you chastize your customer for calling you by your incorrect name, after they called you by your correct name. I continued the conversation by, again politely, asking Chai Ritchie how things were coming along. He replied vaguely, seemingly annoyed that I had called after he had run one week over his quoted repair time. He offered no excuses and no apologies for the week long delay and quickly ended the conversation.
Another week goes by (four weeks). I call and Chai Ritchie is not in. Nobody there can give me any information on how things are coming.
A week and a half later (five and a half week repair time) I get a call from Chai Ritchie informing me that the repairs to my clubs have been completed and that I am more than welcome to come pick them up. I headed right over. Sure it took too long but that's OK. Chai Ritchie got me a deal! $100 bucks or so is not too bad, right?
Well, upon arriving at this location I am greeted by a somewhat stoic Chai Ritchie. Doesn't really seem too interested in saying hello, so he doesn't. He abruptly hands me my clubs and bill and walks off. I take it to the counter to pay, hand the 16-year old kid the bill, and he says, "That will be $183 [and change]". I look up to see where Chai Ritchie is to talk a bit about the discrepancy between the quoted price and actual price. He is nowhere to be found.
Oh Chai Ritchie! You tricky little devil you! Leaving me with this ridiculous bill and handing me off to the 16 year old kid who has no idea how to resolve this situation. At this point I was so fucking done dealing with these people (specifically Chai Ritchie) that I just paid and left.
First of all, the shafts for the irons were of low quality. They were Apache shafts. Pure-Golf garbage. The shaft on the wedge was a true temper steel with a hosel from the 1950's. I was insulted by the products that Chai chose after I was so insistent on quality that resembled Titleist and the flex to match.
Second of all, the price of these shitty products wound up being the same as the Titleist replacements would have cost. What happened to the $100 quote? How did it jump to $180-$185?
Third of all, Why did it take so long? If Titleist is really slow Chai Ritchie, than I guess you are slower. You see you dirtbag, greasy golf club salesman, 5.5 weeks is longer than 4-5 weeks. You fucking idiot.
Fourth of all, to fellow Yelpers and golfers: DON'T GO HERE.......EVER! I know other people that work at this seedy establishment and they are decent people. But the chances of running into Chai Ritchie are still out there and thus I must properly advise all fellow Yelpers and golfers alike to steer clear of this place.
In all fairness, perhaps this scumbag, Chai Ritchie, was not aware that one day, forums like Yelp would exist. And maybe he thought he could just fuck his customers and lie to them wihout anyone ever knowing. Well, tough shit Guy. You can keep the $80 bucks, but you cannot keep your good reputation. But I'm sure if this is how you treat all your customers, that good reputation is already long gone. read more
