The course itself seems to be in good condition but wasn't immaculate. I'm not sure what the FL standard is but I had no issues. Pace of play was good on a Saturday morning. Recommend ordering food ahead via the cart as the wait to order inside is a little long because they don't have premade options available unless it's a candy bar, etc. Staff are friendly and you're set with a small bucket of range balls with your round. They'll also clean your clubs once you've finished. Water is available quite often throughout the course to refill your bottle. Booking is a hassle if you're traveling in as they only open online 5 days in advance or require you to book via a hotel concierge. Price is high, but is apparently in line with other courses in the area. I'm used to $100 being the top end in the Chicago so $177 is a bit shocking when nothing particularly justifies the extra cost. It's golf and I had a good time at the end of the day but I think value could be better.

When a nearby table opened up, we asked if our friends could be moved next to us. Our server was kind, said it should be possible, and went to speak with the manager. We had also spoken with the hostess, who seemed overwhelmed by the number of walk-ins. About 12 minutes later, instead of seating our friends at the available table, the restaurant seated a party of 2 there. Since our friends were only 4 people, they easily could have been accommodated at that table. What made the experience worse was the manager, JP. He came to our table claiming the table was reserved, but that didn't seem accurate--we spoke with the couple who had just been seated there, and they told us they were walk-ins. We understand that restaurants have policies and reservations to manage, but JP's attitude and lack of customer service were disappointing. There was no effort to find a solution or show any empathy. The restaurant wasn't even full, and many guests were heading to the mini golf course, so the situation felt unnecessarily inflexible. Puttshack has a fun concept, but customer service is just as important as the experience. We hope upper management reviews how situations like this are handled, because JP's approach did not reflect the level of hospitality customers expect.

She definitely is in the wrong line of work and when confronting her about being rude she called me also the same explicit names. Super unprofessional! We ALL walked out due to her! Makes it easier than paper and pencil from most places.

I recently stayed at the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa for a work conference, and…read moreunfortunately, the customer service did not match what I would expect from a JW Marriott property. I completely understand that a hotel lobby can be a busy place, especially at a large resort. However, at one point, a teenager was driving a remote-controlled car throughout the lobby while guests were actively trying to walk in and out with luggage. Despite multiple staff members being present, including the doorman and several employees at the front desk, no one stepped in or said anything. It felt incredibly inconsiderate to the other guests and was surprising to see it simply being allowed to continue. The front desk experience throughout our stay was also disappointing. Several times when members of our group had issues with their rooms, the staff seemed unsure of how to handle them and, more importantly, did not handle the situations with the level of friendliness, professionalism, or hospitality you would expect from a resort of this caliber. It's possible some employees were new, but there seemed to be a general lack of confidence and customer service training at the front desk. The property itself has plenty to offer, including the golf course, water park, spa, and other resort amenities. Unfortunately, great amenities do not supersede poor customer service. At a hotel carrying the JW Marriott name and price point, I expected a much higher level of attentiveness and hospitality. The resort may be beautiful, but the service ultimately left the biggest impression and unfortunately, it was not a positive one.

I came to the resort for a wedding and reserved a room for one night. When we arrived, the valet…read moreline was backed up almost to the street, with what looked like a 30-minute wait. Luckily, I spotted self-parking, and we were able to get into the garage instead. Check-in was easy. As a Marriott Lifetime Platinum member, I appreciate the benefits of loyalty, and my room was upgraded to the Orchid Tower with a beautiful balcony overlooking the golf course. The resort charges a $75 resort fee, which includes access to the gym, putting greens, and Tidal Cove Water Park. On Saturday afternoon we headed to the water park, but it was so crowded. There were no chairs available, the lazy river was bumper-to-bumper with people, and several families allowed their children to fight and run around while security seemed uninterested. We left and walked over to the adult pool, which was nice and had plenty of chairs. The wedding itself was beautiful. The Grand Ballroom was a little tight for the 220 guests. The dance floor was too small to accommodate. The catered meal (beef, fish, or vegetarian) was typical banquet food and unfortunately inedible. I was there to celebrate the bride and groom, so the food was secondary. Although, If I was paying, I would not have been happy. Sunday brought more disappointment. We returned to Tidal Cove only to find it just as crowded, so we again headed to the adult pool. While relaxing, a woman brought her small dog to the pool. Marriott may allow dogs on the property, and I have no issue with that, but she actually let the dog swim in the pool. Another guest complained, yet the dog remained in the water while the owner loudly argued. Soon other guests started bringing their dogs down to the pool. Again, not one of the workers around the pool said anything. A resort pool should not become a dog park. I had been given a 3:30 p.m. late checkout, I was so disgusted that I left at 1:00 p.m. At checkout I told the front desk exactly what I had witnessed. Then came the final frustration. Self-parking is advertised at $45 per day and was supposed to be charged to my room. Instead, I paid at the garage exit. My ticket showed I entered at 1:46 p.m. Saturday and exited at 2:02 p.m. Sunday--just 20 minutes over 24 hours. Rather than charging the daily rate plus perhaps a small overage, I was charged $74.90. I made my husband stop at the parking office where I spoke with Rachel. She contacted the manager, who assured me the extra charge would be removed. A week later, the full $74.90 posted to my Visa with no adjustment. I've tried to call the hotel directly and every time they forward the call to accounting, no one picks up and call drops. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but between the overcrowding, dogs swimming in the adult pool, and the parking overcharge that was never corrected, this stay was extremely disappointing. As a Lifetime Platinum Elite member who chooses Marriott whenever possible, I expected far better customer service and management. Unfortunately, I will never return. There are other Marriott Resorts in Florida that are so much nicer.
