Way to go! Good thinking! And well done, PHLK!! Also, there was a sale on long sleeve t-shirts in the NHL section, and there was a decent discount. Staff was helpful in guiding us to the area where they were (but although the store is big, it's not THAT big; not like you'd get lost inside.) So this was a good visit for us.

Where the heck is anything in this sprawling mess? You sure can't tell by the street address nor by the signage! I'll make your life easier and let you know that the Sport Chek is in the "pedestrian part" of The Centrum (like where the Cinema is (it's close to the Cinema, next to The 3 Brewers), and restaurants like Baton Rouge, and Ox Head, not in the part of The Centrum where crazy drivers zoom around and to walk from one store to the next you feel like you're playing Frogger across the parking lot, like where the Walmart is). So you'd think the entrance would be facing the pedestrian mall side where people walk around, right? Nope, the entrance is all the way on the other side towards the parking lot. I've taken a picture of the "fake entrance" for you. Looks like an entrance, but you can't go in! I try to avoid going to The Kanata Centrum if I can, but I was looking for some hand wraps, and Sport Chek had some on clearance and the Centrum location was the only store in the Ottawa area that had the type, length and colour that I wanted (at clearance prices). Since I was heading towards Kanata to visit family anyway, I figured I'd make a quick detour to the Sport Chek. Of course, it wasn't so quick because I had to find the store, then I had to find the entrance, haha. Anyway, once I got that far, the rest went relatively well. I was greeted when I entered the store and I told the sales associate I was looking for hand wraps. He lead me to a different sales associate (presumably the one in charge of that part of the store). I told him what I was looking for and he searched the displays and couldn't find it. I pulled out my phone and showed him the Sport Chek website said that the product was in stock at The Centrum location. He asked me to scroll down to the item number. I did, and he punched it into the hand held device he had. He then said he would be right back. Then he disappeared for a while and then returned with the product in his hand. Awesome! Checkout was quick. Apparently, Canadian Tire bought Sport Chek, so you get some cashback in the form of "Triangle money" formerly "Canadian Tire money." You no longer get Air Miles. The store itself is fine, if you disregard the "psyched you out non-entrance." For me it's the location, anything in The Centrum automatically loses points in my books.

Kicking myself that I've not come in here sooner. I've been…read moreto a huge Bass Pro store when I lived in Calgary. It's not so much of a need for me as it is a novelty. I do like to fish but just don't go often enough anymore and I have a lot of gear already. It is dog friendly here and Santa was in store so off we went on a Sat at 1pm... And wow. Was blown away. The cool people are here! Lol! The men.... Are here! Nice customers, many with their own dogs! My pooch loved the display at the back with all the taxidermy deer, bear, geese etc. the running waterfall was a great effect on the mini mountain. The store was busy but well laid out. Clean. The huge signs above the sections tell you where to go. I was surprised at alllll the pet things. Gift ideas, spices. Xmas food items. Staff wear green shirts with name tags and they were so great and good to my dog. She was spoiled. Santa loves dogs too! We stayed at least 2 hours... Blew about $75 but I see this as an amazing outing every couple of weekends. Things are on clearance but scattered throughout the store. Washroom was at the front at the massive fireplace. Check outs didn't take long. Lol... I went thru x 2. Tons of parking.

Stay tuned for details!! ________________ They've had spectacular attendance for their opening weekend - September 22-25 2016. I went in to see what it's like, comparing it to their biggest competition (Bass Pro is NOT located in Ottawa, unfortunately - but there is one in the outskirts of Toronto, which is where I have been.) This store was mobbed! There are many similarities, such as they've kept the taxidermists quite busy with all the animals on display. The entrance has several such displays set up, high above the entrance where people can't touch them. Bears, deer, etc. Everywhere I went, I could hear "pop! pop! pop!", and when I got to the back of the store, I found out why: there's a display of animals cavorting down a rock-mountain, and kids and adults alike are playing with wooden toy guns that produce a popping noise when they go off. Meanwhile, in the rest of the store, they sell fishing and hunting equipment, including a long counter where they sell rifles. They sell camouflage clothes, as well as footwear for all ages, and camping and cooking gear (I noticed a deep fryer). Cabela's does NOT have a huge fish tank. There was a fudge factory (with a lineup), and candied nuts (I had a sample; they were good!). I will go back again to take a closer look, and perhaps try some footwear on, when it will hopefully be a little less crowded.

Shopping for a bike on Markertplace, Canadian Tire, Used, Costco. Forget it. I tried. Here, the bike is assembled for you upon purchase by people that know what they are doing. Warranty included. 15% off accessories for 7 days after the buy. You can get sized on your visit to see what size of bike you need. You can test drive the floor model on the lot to get a feel for your chosen one. (Bring runners, of course) I learned a lot and I'll be back soon for payment. 3 Ottawa locations. Westboro is said to be bigger. Orleans has a lot of the stock. It feels elite to shop here. Just wish it was a tad more affordable but you get what you pay for!

Salomon redesigned their heal plates about 10 years ago. Alex made a detailed list of my son's old ski boot specifications and helped him try on various ski boots. Mike did not think that the heal plates for boots as old as his would be available so he transplanted the back heal plates from another pair of boots of similar size to my son's old ski boots and donated the boots to fix the front heal plates if they break. All work was done within 2 weeks and free of charge. My son's old comfortable ski boots were repaired to our full satisfaction.
