I cannot BELIEVE how…read moreexpensive some sports items can be, particularly for little ones who grow out of it all so quickly, and it needs to fit right so the turnover is fast. This place will not only help you find a new size, but also help to sell your old stuff to recoup some of the money! The staff seem to be pretty knowledgeable about the items they sell too, so for those of us who have no clue, that's a welcome bonus.

I politely told the salespeople that I was just looking for now. A short time later I heard a manager (possibly the owner) yelling at her staff saying that they had to ask everybody in the store if any help was needed. I must have been approached by three or four salespeople within only a few minutes. It was way overboard and annoying. Getting frustrated, I ended up leaving the store without buying anything. Another time I went to Sports Check wanting to buy a pair of good quality running shoes. Despite trying on numerous different running shoes none of them fit my feet properly and they weren't even comfortable. When shopping at other stores, I always find good fitting shoes without too much difficulty. During my last visit at Sports Check, in the late Fall, I asked a manager about cycling pants. She said, "I show you what I have." The manager brought me over to the area where they display hiking pants. Over the years, I have found that Sports Chek usually doesn't sell what I'm looking for and/or often they don't have my size. Even when they do have my size, the clothes/shoes don't fit properly. I am an average-sized person proportionate to my body shape, height and weight. Also, I have found that staff doesn't know much about the products they are selling.

Fortunately, I was approached/greeted by a staff member who was eager to serve. After trying on a few pairs and explaining what I needed, and the difficulties I usually have shopping for shoes, the manager helped with some more suggestions. The 2 of them narrowed down the choices the perfect shoe for me. I paid for my purchase, and left the store quite satisfied, and enthusiastic about sharing my experience here on Yelp, as well as my family, and friends.

Anyway, Duncan knows his stuff. He is also a pretty expert mechanic, and has taken excellent care of my Merlin Road and my Independent Fabrication Crown Jewel. The guy went off at me as if I had insulted his mother and began to berate me about wrapping myself in the flag. Setting aside for a moment the shear boorish, un-Canadian rudeness of this remark, it was clear to me that the people at Fresh Air Experience find something deeply offensive about Canadians wishing to purchase products that maximize Canadian materials and labour. The tone-deafness and offensiveness of this remark by someone in retail and the way it was delivered was simply stunning. I left the store without comment. I certainly will not be spending my $4-$5K budget at this store and will be sure to communicate my Fresh Air Experience to my business associates and social circle.

Even though I didn't end up getting anything it's a really cool store with some nice quality items. Filson bags, backpacks, sunglasses, grooming products, candles, home scents, candles, books and blankets as well. They have an interesting selection of brands from Carhart WIP to Harleys of Scotland and back to Raised by Wolves. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I had a long chat about items they'll be getting and there's some interesting things coming in for the spring and summer. I'll be back to check what shows up in the near future.

I find the availability of luxury items in menswear to be extremely lacking in the Ottawa area, such as at the Rideau center, even at major departments center, such as Nordstrom. This store really has a great atmosphere, and a very relaxed atmosphere. There are a large amount of items, and they are all separated by color, which is a nice touch if you are looking for a specific color, palette and easy to plan a monochromatic look. I will say that the items are definitely more expensive. Expect to see things in a 200 to $500 range.

I saw on the website that they had that specific ladder in stock so I went to store. When I arrived, the first thing I realsied is how spacious is the place. The first floor have a lot of sports wears and shoes. I went on the second floor as all the equipment are there and it is spacious as well. They have a lot of choices for every type of sports. I asked the lady about the ;adder, she was kind enough to come with me at the section and when I told her the ladder I was looking for was not on the shelf, she immediatly asked me if I saw it on the website. I told her that I saw it was in stock in this particular store and she asked me if I can wait and she went to the backstore. Within the next 5 minutes, she came back with the ladder. What an amazing service, as most of the place I go, the employees don't care about going to the backstore. Defintely one of my most pleasant shopping experience in the last months.

I decided to pop in on a whim and see what they had. I noticed a sign on the door that said they had a "work dog" inside, which immediately made me joyous. I was even happier that she (I think her name was Jazz!), was the sweetest, most calm dog ever and hung out with me while I shopped. The staff member (who I believe was the owner), was great at keeping her close by, but I made it clear that I welcomed her furry little presence! Their selection is plentiful - classy and quirky and tailored to all personality types. They have sports one and occupations and I ended up selecting an awesome pair of silver Lego pieces. I mentioned my boyfriend was an MMA trainer and he offered to order in some boxing glove cuff links for us - wonderful customer service! I also picked up a gorgeous Nautica tie (at half off!) and some super cool dinosaur socks for the birthday boy. They have an amazing selection of men's grooming products including beard grooming supplies, European razors and a whole wall of other goodies. They also carry a ton of fun and colourful socks and an insane amount of men's underwear (the second staff member is your go to guy for men's underwear. He admits to owning hundreds of pairs!).
