Made an appointment for a swing evaluation with Sean and from the get he was a very professional and down to earth coach. He explained the tech and metrics they use to analyze my swing as well as what to expect when we finish the evaluation. Sean has a lot of experience in sports like baseball that he was able to translate into golf and has been doing this for many years. The simulator was very cool and it was awesome to see my strengths and weakness in my swing. I found this very helpful as Im the technical type and very visual. Sean was able to answer all my questions and give demonstrations too. At the end of the lesson I was able to fix my hip and head sway in that was detrimental to my swing and you can actually see the difference between my initial practice swings versus the end of the lesson swings. Definitely a smart way to get better. I find the range is awesome for practice, but the numbers and video records are a game changer for me. Looking to rest up in the coming weeks to get some more lessons with Sean and work on my swing mechanics. read more

Just a review on my golftec experience. At the time of my appointment I was shooting somewhere in the 110-120 range. So I first made an appointment online for a swing evaluation, I received an email confirmation and everything. On the morning of my appointment I show up only to find that I was double booked. So I had no choice but to reschedule. Once I finally made it to my swing evaluation, my instructor was very professional and quick to identify what I did well in my swing and what I needed to work on. It's very cool to see the technology behind your golf swing and it gives you good idea on what you can work on. My instructor knowledge definitely showed in his teaching. One thing I didn't like about golftec is it had a "time-share/sales pitch" like vibe where they really try to get you to sign up for more lessons and commit thousands of dollars to improve your game. Of course I want to improve my game, but as a beginner I'm not willing to spend thousands of dollars just yet. Even after i said "No", I was constantly "encouraged" by the other instructor to sign up for more lessons. The other instructor was in the background saying things like "come on man! sign up for a year! we'll get your game right! if you can't do a year, do 6 months!" Hearing that in the background during your lesson doesn't really feel like they're trying to help improve your golf game but more so trying to get you to commit to a package deal. I first picked up a golf club about 30 years ago. I started playing after many sessions at the driving range. My level of instruction over the years has included articles in golf magazines, tips from other players, and countless YouTube videos. I have been able to shoot in the 80s but not consistently with many rounds over 100. It was a back injury about seven years ago That prompted me to consider taking lessons. In 2023 I visited Golftec for a swing evaluation. Based on my initial encounter. I knew that professional instruction would be important for me to promote a healthy future playing golf. At first I was reluctant to commit to a package of 10 lessons, but I did. After the first two or three lessons I came to realize that a package of 10 was appropriate. The hardest part about my approach to lessons was to embrace the idea that my golf swing would need to change Over the course of my lesson plan, I had the privilege of working with Sean, Jeff and Kevin. All three instructors are very professional. I recently completed my lessons, and played in my first round a few days ago. Although my total score might not reflect my experience with Golftec , I certainly felt more confident navigating every tee to green. I can rest assured that the knowledge I have gained will lead to more consistent shots and ultimately better scores. Went in for a putter fitting that was very comprehensive and informational. We went through aiming, alignment, different grips/hozzles/heads until we found the perfect fit for me. Overall great experience and will be going back for swing lessons. The waived fitting fee with purchase is also a huge bonus. Takes the guess work out of buying the right clubs! read more

WARNING - One of the worst experiences I've had at any establishment, period. I'm only writing this as a warning to others as I wish I would have been warned. My experience start to finish was awful. It began poorly even before I got there. The instructor called me the day before my swing evaluation and said "we'll be going over pricing after our evaluation so make sure you're ready to decide on which option to move forward with (anywhere from $500-5,000). His tone was rude and pushy to start like he was just trying to sell me something. My experience in the Golftec the next day was no different. When I got there, he was training someone and was narrating the different parts of the lesson. For example, he said, "here's the part where we tell them basically their swing sucks but if they spend a bunch of money with us they can drop strokes." Kind of weird to say in front of a client, but I brushed it off. The end was the WORST part. I received a $100 coupon eligible for a swing evaluation or lesson. He tried to pressure sell me into buying lessons, and I told him I needed to think about it. Then he said "ok that will be $125 for the evaluation," and I told him I had the coupon. He said "I'm not accepting that." This surprised me to say the least, since the email clearly stated it could be used on a swing evaluation. I showed him the part of the coupon that said it was eligible to go towards the swing evaluation and he said "Yeah I see it, I just don't care. I'm not doing a swing evaluation for $25." Now I get this guy might make a cut of whatever I'm paying, but he can't deny me using my coupon when it clearly says I can use it on a swing evaluation. So I pushed back nicely and said., "I'm not really sure what I'm missing here." He replied, "Nothing. You can get the f*** out." I was honestly shocked by the whole experience. Couldn't believe they hired this guy. I'm writing this review for the simple reason that I would've wanted someone to warn me before I spent any time or money at this store (I guess I didn't have to pay the $25 so there's my small win). The staff at Foster City is great, but in the end I realized that continuity and relationship with your coach is the most important thing. So now I make the trek to see Bryan at the new center. Bryan is always positive, always patient and always humble. He is passionate about helping golfers improve and feels personal pain when his students are struggling. I think I can say that we've developed a friendship that goes beyond the golf lessons. Thanks to Bryan, my friends who I played golf with years ago see my swing and are amazed at the improvement. Great place to get lessons! I've been learning from Bryan - one of the two coaches who manage this specific center. I was referred and am thrilled about my decision to take lessons here. I plan on re-upping when the time comes as I have had a great experience and want to continue learning from these folks. Bryan has provided very tangible, digestible improvements that build over time. Each lesson has a focus with takeaways for practice until the next lesson. He's also curious to know what struggles have crept back or what things I've done well on recent rounds to help continue progressing my game forward. It has never been overwhelming and over just a few months, have seen my average score reduce by 8-10 strokes (I'm a higher handicapper.) Highly recommended! read more

What a load of crap this place is. Scheduled a full bag fitting and showed up for my appointment. They told me they didn't have time for that kind of fitting and couldn't do it. After signing up for the full bag fitting and speaking with the fitter. So, I picked up my bag and left. I was ready to buy a full set too. I don't even know what happened, but they didn't seem to care about losing a sale or any attempt to correct or figure something out. It was the crappiest and weirdest thing. I don't look like the typical golfer and have been profiled before at Dicks in Serramonte (No help from staff, then someone else comes in and they jump up) . It felt similar. I'll find a golf pro who isn't discriminatory and genuinely wants to help and earn the business. I would find somewhere else to help you with this sport that clearly has inclusion issues. read more
