The course is in desperate need of water! I had to put my wife's tees in the ground because the soil is so hard. Not a tree on the place and feels like golf in a farmers field on the front nine. The parking and bag drop is the worst design ever. You can't drive your cart to your car so you're stuck tipping some kid to drag a dirty rag over your clubs and shlep them 40 feet to the drop while you traverse the side of the mountain down to your car then have to drive back up the hill to collect your bags. Minimal clubhouse service and port o pots on course. No club cleaners on the carts. All in all I won't be back anytime soon until they fix these issues. Honestly it's only worth about $70 a round not $120.

To be fair, I prefer courses like this with wide open fairways and lots of elevation changes. The course has only been open a year, so the clubhouse is still a work in progress and will take some time to be finished. When I played, the course was in very good shape compared to many of the other courses around the area, which were extremely dry. Maybe it's just having a new course in the area, but this is already one of my favorite courses for Northern Colorado and I'll definitely be back.

Mountain views, longest drive contests, and a starter who tolerated our hangovers…read more A few days before the wedding we hosted a golf tournament at Estes Park Golf Course, and it ended up being one of the highlights of the whole week. We had about 24 golfers out on the course and a bunch more meet us at the clubhouse for lunch after, and from start to finish the staff was prompt, polite, and somehow on top of every single thing. We coordinated everything with Aaron Tulley, who was a total pro. He set us up with longest drive and closest to the pin contests while we were out there, which turned a fun round into a genuinely competitive (loving, mostly) family showdown. Aaron stayed ahead of every detail so we never had to think about logistics, which is exactly what you want a few days before getting married. Then there is the food. The kitchen has been newly redone and it shows, because lunch was incredible, and at a price that made us double-check the bill in a good way. And the views. My God, the views. Getting our flat-as-a-pancake Midwest family out onto a mountain course like this was an absolute top-tier experience. Everyone was smiling the entire time, including the people who had never broken 100 in their lives. Special shoutout to the starter, who got our entire group off the first tee with grace and good humor while we were, let us be honest, deeply hungover and schlepping around pre-round like a herd of confused deer. That is customer service. If you are looking for a stunning, welcoming, well-run course in Estes Park, this is the one. Five stars and a longest drive trophy to the whole staff.

Nobody told me the greens were punched yesterday when I made my tee ti.e there was no mention of this. There was no reduction in the greens fee, I paid full price. I do t know who is running this place but, to not mention the greens were punched yesterday a d charge full price, prime rates is ludicrous. I asked the pro shop if I could get a rain-check and was denied with much attitude. Unfortunately I can not recommend this course to anyone wanting play. I feel cheated a d deceived, will not return. I will spend my well earned money elsewhere from now on.

Too many clubs, too many events. If you live in Longmont you literally paid taxes for the course but they simply don't care. So it's (Maybe) very early or later in the afternoon with a good chance being chased off by thunderstorms. This chases people to the other courses nearby taking up THEIR morning Tee times. I am trying to do new things. I am a traditionally horrible dancer, so I did some looking around…read moreand found the Boulder Swing Dance web site. Classes are cheap ($10 for a drop in class or $35 for a 4-part series) and they start frequently (a new session every month) so I took my chance and jumped in on the next beginner-level class that came up. This was Lindy Hop 1, which meets on Monday nights. Tonight was my first lesson, and I cannot wait to go back next week. I have never danced a real dance before in my life, but John and Shana did a great job explaining everything clearly enough that it always felt natural to move on to the next step. The atmosphere was really relaxed and everyone seemed to have a genuinely good time. It is certainly okay to attend these classes on your own. My friend and I went without partners and a couple of guys stuck around from an earlier class to even things out. Not a big deal at all. I was concerned about not having the comfort of a familiar partner, but that soon was relieved as the class is structured so that every follow dances with every lead at least once. And since it's a "rotate clockwise" arrangement, there's no need to worry that nobody will choose you to dance. You just get the next person in the circle, and then the next. This setup not only eases the awkwardness of choosing a partner, it gives you the opportunity to dance with several people, and all of them will have a slightly different style. You don't learn to dance with your date, you learn to dance with anybody. The studio was a bit hot and everyone got really sweaty but, since everybody was sweaty, it was okay. I highly recommend wearing something comfortable that will allow you to breathe. After just the first session in this series, I feel like I progressed from hopeless to kind of okay at this particular dance, which is way more than I had anticipated. Trying new things is awesome!

As an intermediate dancer, I love that they have monthly classes for folks beyond the beginner…read morelevel. The month of July has been a special topics month, instead of their typical progressive series, which has been really fun. I've peeked in on the beginner class a couple of times, and everyone always looks like they're having a blast. All of Boulder Swing Dance's instructors are experienced, friendly and 100% in love with swing dancing. They create a supportive, judgement-free, creative space in which to learn swing. Like many swing dance classes, you don't need a partner, because you rotate partners throughout the class. This means you learn how to dance, not how to dance with your partner. They also put on a twice-a-month social dance, every other Saturday night. It's DJ'd, and so far the DJ's have all been excellent. There is a beginner lesson before every social dance.
