I had a horrible experience at this store, first I walk in an hour and 15 minutes before closing wanting to get fitted for a driver and I was treated like I walked in 5 minutes before closing. Next, we go to the back to do the "fitting" and the "pro" CJ doesn't give any input to what driver he recommends and why he recommends it, I basically fit myself. I had to pull him out of the back room to give me any input on club choice. For a customer to walk in wanting to spend a good chunk of change on a club and get treated like that explains why this place is a 3 star, I should have done my research before, and I will not be coming back to this store. read more

I just got fitted and purchased some clubs here. I will admit I was somewhat on edge going in after seeing some reviews. After visiting I will say while everyone seemed very quiet, I had a great experience. Everyone seemed very knowledgeable and was respectful towards me. They also had a great selection of all the newest clubs and any configuration you could need. I've never been fitted before and it was definitely an experienced I enjoyed and already hit the clubs I got very well. read more

I had not been in Golf Headquarters for 5 years due to the rudeness of the staff and their indifferent attitudes. I needed a couple of items and new grips on my clubs so I gave them another try last month. They did a good job on re-gripping my clubs but their attitude is the same. I had a couple of questions and they really seemed put out on some basic level. I'm no pro golfer but heck I'm spending my hard earned money. Anyways, I'll maybe give them another chance in a few years. Maybe. Well, probably not, I was getting a golf lesson earlier today and the golf pro mentioned how rude they were to him. Amazing. I have read several negative reviews but, I have to say my experience has been great at Golf Headquarters. I am very new to the game and everyone there has been very helpful and spent as much time as I needed helping me. I was buying cheap equipment because I am new but they didn't treat me that way at all. Kirk the manager was very helpful when I had an issue with the bag I bought and volunteered a loaner while mine was being repaired. I didn't even ask, he just took great care of me. Some day when I get a little better I will get a nice set of clubs and when I do I will remember the service I had at Golf Headquarters and they will get my business. read more

I have been to the store numerous times throughout my time in Springfield. I have not once been treated rudely until my last visit. I went in with my elderly grandmother and we were looking for some shoes because academy had a bad selection. So I go in and we look around and we only see a couple sizes in the particular shoe I like. Then my grandmother asked one of the workers, by the name of Kurt, "do you have anymore sizes of this shoe?" He then rudely says, "No that's all." He didn't offer a solution or another store that might have them. However that's not the problem, it was the tone and way he responded to her. Well we don't think anything of it and continue to shop. After a whole we ask another worker if he could see if another store has the shoe. He then finds a location that has the shoe and calls them to give them our information so they could ship to shoe directly to our house. Well while he was giving them our information, Kurt interjects and asks for the phone rudely and tells the person on the other line that we could pick it up. My grandma then asks, "Are you not interested in selling to us?" At that moment there were other customers in the store and he shut up and became more nice. Well after a while the other employee gets the other company to ship the shoe for us without us having to go pick it up. Kurt was a very rude man and was very unkind to me and my grandmother. We will not be returning to the store and will continue to spread this news my other golfing buddies. Anyways I don't recommend this store and the customer service is horrible. read more

Great selection and quality workmanship on club repairs/adjustment; however, the personal are completely disinterested in actually selling golf clubs. Now to be fair, I understand that you get a lot of tire kickers in a golf shop but you kind of know that going in right? What, I am suppose to lay 3 large down without a proper demo or a warm greeting? This isn't the Academy....you sell golf clubs on relationships/ knowledgeable staff not egos and an indifferent attitude. I have a bonus burning a hole in my pocket but I am fixing to drive up to Olathe to purchase my 18th set from Mike Dickerson at Golf MD who will not only give you the time of day but is as knowledgeable a fitter as anyone in this business and shows sincere appreciation for the golfer customer. I have read complaints about this business but have been very pleased with there service. Have asked for special services and HAVE ALWAYS BEEN MET WITH ULTIMATE service with a smile. This place has a good selection and a bunch of ego working there. I was a manufacturing rep that traveled to these stores for a few years. It always was interesting to come across these retail stores that treated their customers as if it were a private club and the customers weren't members. Unfortunately I bought a bag and some balls from here. I already knew what I wanted and didn't need assistance. I feel bad that I gave this type of store my business. They are rude and condescending to their customers. I will never step foot in here again, and if you enjoy any type of customer service you shouldn't either. read more

My mom and I both went in looking for golf bags. 1st there was very little help offered, when we did call someone over to ask if there were any more available bags it was like we were some kind of nuisance to the sales guy. 2nd after I had already checked out I noticed a pretty sizable scratch on this "brand new" $130 golf bag and I told the other guy standing at the register he just looked at me like so what? I asked if I could have a little money off and his offer was a $2.50 golf ball. 3rd my mom bought a bunch of other accessories in there when she was checking out the other associate ripped one of the items from her hands ripped a tag off and left a hole. He didn't seem to care about that either. You'd think paying customers spending quite a bit of money in their store would get some respect but we got 0. I haven't been able to find a customer service number to get ahold of some kind of manager so I guess this well due and hopefully someone will see it and choose to take their business elsewhere. I have to agree, the employees seem totally disinterested in helping the customer. I went in yesterday to purchase shoes. When I asked the two gentlemen at the counter where I could find the golf shoes, they told me that the shoes were scattered in about three different places around the store, and that I could help myself. I ventured around the store, and finally found some shoes in the back corner. I tried on a couple of pair while the two employees remained at the front counter instead of coming back to ask if I had any questions, or needed help. They make you feel like you don't belong and you're being judged. The red headed manager is a jerk and has no business working in a company with people. If you ask him a question he acts like he doesn't want to do his job or you're a bother to him for asking. I'd give this place no stars if i could, absolutely horrible. Their pricing is outrageous, literally the last place I'd go for golf anything. I'd rather go online or drive 2 hour than to buy from that place. Go to Grips Golf in Springfield, MO, they are the real deal, very helpful and always there for you when you're in need. They don't make you feel stupid and are very welcoming. read more

I have been to this store several times and each time I visit I get more frustrated. I want to support them because they are a local business, but I always find the customer service to be terrible. You can't get anyone to help you and if you're a woman, you can forget any assistance if any men are in the store. The staff seem disinterested in any sales and flat out ignore you. Tip to the store: don't underestimate the sale. Often the people who have the most money to spend won't look like it. Amazon and eBay will be getting my business in the future. read more
