I have to say that I've learned what I received and am thrilled. I started with archery about 1 month ago (9/15/19) and like most people, I went to the superstore thinking that I had done my research online so I had an idea what I wanted but would use the attendant's knowledge at the store to fill in the rest. Thank God that I didn't buy there. I was frustrated with their lack of attention and/or knowledge on the subject. They just wanted to get me to buy and get out. I came to midwest archery and all of the attendants were fantastic. When there was something that the attendant that I was working with didn't know, they found someone that did know rather than faking their way through it. I did my research before coming in but you dont know the things that you dont know. And, in modern archery theres a lot a person may not know. Long story short, they worked with me. They gave me several bows to try and set up my new bow specifically for my use. I am now over 5,000 shots in one month and 3 people have come to me talking about how their equipment is not right for them so they convert to what I'm using. Typically when starting a new hobby like this a person spends thousands buying the wrong equipment before they find what's right. I have to thank midwest archery for the fact that I didn't have to go through that. You have made my experience completely satisfying and exciting. You have earned a long term customer with me for sure. I will be buying my future bows from you. The racks are not placed to encourage curiosity or exploration. It's more like a garage. One of the reasons many people hang out in a favorite gun store are not just the products but the engagement of the staff, they shoot the breeze with you if it's slow. They encourage you to hold, look and engage with the products. They educate you. They shoe interest in you and your needs and get you talking. It's not just a gun store thing, it's true at barbershops, hairdressers, photography stores, ho by stores etc. you engage with the customer, encourage sales and a friendly atmosphere. None of that was present. I'd overlook the dark dingy store if they got the rest of it right. These guys could not care less that I was there. They did not seem to be working or busy although one was on the phone. I was the only customer with four of the kids sitting at desks. They made no effort to show me anything or what I might be looking for. I would have scored them lower but they indicated they mostly do business by online auction and we're just starting out in retail. Maybe so but a little common sense, friendliness and act like your there to do business instead of acting like kids in grandma's basement glowed to video games. The price I bought my auction item was fair and I appreciated that they called me since their auction software failed to send me an invoice or notice that I had won. I hope they get better at this and are successful but I would encourage them to learn how to merchandise and retail sell. They store and their behavior is the face of their business and in the long run it does matter.
