There are signs in Dr. Jones's waiting room instructing patients to make another appointment if they have more than a couple matters to discuss with the doctor, so as to allow them to keep to a schedule. Once I met Dr. Jones, I decided that this was probably a passive-aggressive attempt by the office staff to get her to hurry it up, because she actually likes to spend time talking to her patients. Which may suck for the schedulers, but is very welcome if you are the patient -- not to mention being pretty unusual. Rather than jumping straight to the reason for my visit, Dr. Jones inquired about another medical condition I have, and feelingly opined, "That sucks," after I told her about it. She told me about an article she'd read about it, and wrote down the source for me -- none of this had anything to do with dermatology! She then dealt with the mark that was the reason for my visit. She ended up drawing dots on my arm in three colors of marker to show me what were and what weren't worrisome moles/freckles. She took the time to explain things to me, and left me feeling listened to, reassured, and respected. Since I just had one consultation with her, I can't say how she treats various ongoing conditions (like, say, eczema or acne), or how she does when there is a worrisome mole. But I can say that if you want a doctor that first and foremost acts like a real, caring human being, she is an excellent choice.

She and Julia Fiore, PA, in addition to…read morethe caring and professional administrative team, have made a hugely positive difference in my life. During a routine doctor appointment, my PCP noticed a rash on my face, which I thought was unnoticeable. However, upon further examination, I realized "it's back;" that familiar blotchy, crimson rash on my face and neck. I got a referral to Lenzy Dermatology. This facial rash has been a source of extreme self-consciousness over the years. While it simply vanished at times, during the past 2 years, it was clearly here to stay. No amount of elixirs or make-up could keep it at bay. Making matters worse, "inquisitive" people, mostly strangers, lacking even a modicum of social grace, pointing it out, asking me about it, etc., By the time I arrived at Lenzy Dermatology, I was at my wit's end. I was quickly reassured by one of the caring assistants whose easy-going manner relaxed me. I was also impressed by the cleanliness/sterility of the exam room. Dr. Lenzy came in shortly thereafter. She proceeded to examine my face with an instrument which resembled a magnifying glass. She instantly diagnosed me with Rosacea, and set about a course of treatment. In addition to informing me about my condition, she recommended an OTC product, which has worked like magic. Dr. Lenzy prescribed several topical treatments, as well as a cleanser. Lenzy Dermatology worked tirelessly with my insurance company in order to procure the best treatment options. I know it wasn't easy, but they did it! Since the cleanser wasn't covered, Julia recommended an OTC cleanser, which works well with the other products. I couldn't be happier with Lenzy Dermatology. Dr. Lenzy has gone well beyond for me in an effort to alleviate my problem. I am so appreciative to everyone there. What a fantastic team! I'm happy to report that my skin looks so much better. I've put into practice what I've learned from Dr. Lenzy and followed the skincare regimen. Thank you for everything you've done for me. I am beyond appreciative!

As a melanoma survivor, I have to have good, caring derm. I made an appointment with Dr. Greenlaw at NEDL and hoped for the best. It is always stressful to have a yearly checkup, but I was so pleased with Dr. Greenlaw's thoroughness and caring. She is calm and caring and really listens to the patient. I need a doctor who doesn't discredit my concerns, and she certainly doesn't. Her assistant is also a hoot. I'm so pleased I've found another derm I feel so comfortable with. An uninformed patient cannot provide proper consent. Had I known that I would be in excruciating pain for more than a week, unable to move facial muscles, chew properly, ambulate, shower without tears, speak without pain, or sleep a night without waking up in pain, I would not have consented to this surgery. Only after a call to the office a week later did I learn that the scalp is complicated and presents these issues. I was never told to expect to miss days from work, and was assured that there are not a lot of nerves on the scalp and that it would not be painful. Even when the scalp was being pulled and stitched, and I directly asked, "this really feels like it will hurt a lot later, what can I expect?" I was assured that it would not. Be your own advocate. Get another opinion.
