A business who sees customers as people and not just dollar signs is rare these days, and Ron at STC Gold & Silver is a great example of a local business that truly cares about his customers. Soma wear is typically higher priced than what you might find in a TJ Maxx or Ross Store, but I return to Soma for the lasting quality and reliable fashion I have come to know here. There is also a Soma store at Woodfield Mall, but my favorite location is here at The Arboretum of South Barrington. The sales staff here are always helpful and friendly without being over-bearing or persistent. Be sure to check out the sales racks in back and join their mailing list to watch for rewards points and special coupons for even greater value. On my last visit, I spent around $60, but I had $35 in coupons. I also appreciate the good quality paper shopping bags Soma uses and often reuse, recycled or use them as gift bags.

I could not remember my size, so I ordered what I thought would fit. Every bra fit incorrectly. Not a big deal, I went to the store to exchange them. There was a woman being trained. She clearly was not ready to be on her own but they left her to take care of me for most of my experience. 1st she tried to tell me that I didn't purchase one of my bras there. (She didn't bother asking the associate that was training her, she just assumed because they didn't sell that particular bra in their store that it wasn't from Soma)The associate had to correct her. Instead of asking, because she had no clue, she proceeded to tell me that I could not take that particular bra back through the store, but that I needed ship it back and contact the company the way that way had purchased it. Again, the associate had to correct her. (The associate was in the back and I had to ask her to go and verify that I could not return it in the store) As I was trying on the bras they did have in stock, she took forever to find them. I love Soma bras but every single bra she gave me from one of their lines was misshapen, it looked like it was crushed. She not only made up answers instead of asking when she did not know, she had a slight attitude like I was inconveniencing her. Needless to say I returned 3 out of the 5 bras. I'm not going to pay good money for misshapen bras and bad service. I have not been back since and am still debating if I even want to go back and give it another try.

This is the third time I have been into this location. Twice by myself and once with my husband. The first time I was by myself, I was treated different. Couldn't put my finger on it until the next time when my husband came with me to this location. We were followed around like common thieves, bothered repeatedly. I had items placed in the fitting room by staff, tried on, purchased and left. Very unwelcoming location. The third time, while I was within the vicinity, I brought with me a pair of jeans in which I had purchased at the Naperville Illinois location a few days prior. The metal "Whitehouse Black Market" tag had popped off the back pocket of the jeans. On June 23, 2025 while I was in the area I needed exchange these jeans without an attitude from Terri. She refused to call Naperville, claimed the jeans were clearance-which they were not, refused to listen to me, argumentative, rude, wasting my time. I called Naperville, was given the clothing item number, provided that to Terri however she still couldn't or wouldn't find online or order so I had Naperville hold the same pair of jeans because Terri wouldn't call and do her job, claims that these jeans are clearance-they are not, they are brand new, this store just did not know the the Whitehouse black market clothing that is brand new or not updated-whatever, not my problem. She claimed that no stores carried these. manager, Jenny came to assist and had to tell Terri to go in the back as she kept running her mouth and continuing to be disrespectful. The best part-lol is when she walked past me and put her middle finger on her face a flipped me off. How old are you woman that you are so caddy, disrespectful and think this veteran military cop is not going to call corporate and say something. Did the district manager ever call me to apologize-no. So here's the review that I promised would happen. Oh as to following a person around the store and attempting to demean our net worth wrong people folks to do that to. Might want to check some fact history on who we are and what we have. Regardless no one should ever be treated like this and at least I can say when I have traveled out of state and to various locations.
