Purchased a necklace for my wife's birthday. E-mail correspondence was excellent. Website for designing the unit worked flawless. I was able to essentially build the necklace from the design I chose including the gold type, diamond size and type and necklace style and length. Actually was fun to do and with the GIA certification it made the purchase and incredible value. I literally saved somewhere in the neighborhood of $2-3,000 dollars verses buying locally. I purchased my wife's engagement and our wedding rings from the previous Diamond Mart business (over 13 years ago), so when Billy said he would help us with a resize and repair, we were very grateful! Prior to coming to the Diamondaire, we researched several jewelers closer to us and we were surprised at their customer service. We heard things like, "It will be ready in 1 month," and "Why would you want a loupe to look at your diamond... you don't trust us?" We were slow to consult with the Diamondaire because it's about 45min away from us. When my wife first called the Diamondaire, she was immediately quoted a turnaround of 24 hours or potentially same day, with a cost estimate that was under all of the local jewelers around us. This is awesome! I love love love my earrings!!! When I asked for earrings on my birthday I didn't expect much from my husband. I checked online and read many comments. Most of the comments were saying their diamond earrings were smaller than they expected when they received them. We even made a stop at Tiffany's but price was out of range. Billy, the owner, was very friendly and not pushy. After explaining to him what we are looking for, he sent us some pictures and videos. I wish I could give 10 stars. I couldn't be happier with my experience. My fiance and I were on the hunt for wedding bands, and I was referred to check out the diamondaire by a co worker. Billy (the owner) recognized my co workers name immediately, and also recalled her husband's name. This made me feel like customers really mattered to them. As we browsed rings, Billy provided us with some recommendations based on a couple pictures (from Pinterest) I had. Literally every ring was gorgeous, but not quite what I had pictured for my band. This is where the "I wish I had 10 stars" comes into play Billy suggested that he and his team could make me the ring I envisioned. Sounds great, right? But I was hesitant, and afraid that I might not like what they created. So, Billy took down my email address, and sent me sketches of the design, allowed me to make a few tweaks, and then created my one of a kind ring. We picked up our rings yesterday.. The owner was very knowledgeable and explained everything to me. I went in to have my wedding ring re-sized and have the stones in my ring tightened up. I bought my wedding ring from them and it was a rose gold ring that had beautiful dark brown wood underneath a glossy sealant. It wasn't waterproof but was water resistant. After 2 years some water got into the seal, likely due to my own carelessness, and the wood broke out in one spot. After realizing I wouldn't wear it as much due to the damage, I took it back in to The Diamondaire to see if there was anything they could do. They remembered my ring - apparently not many of these were made by them. They were extremely pleasant and did a little research while I waited. They said they would send it back to the manufacturer and would find out if it would cost anything to make the repairs, but they thought it would likely be a nominal cost. I had such confidence in them that I just left it there with my phone number (only later realizing I didn't have much recourse if I called back and they didn't remember me). A few weeks later Lauren called me back and said that it was ready and there would be no charge for the repairs. The ring is back and it really is a great looking ring imo. My wife is very pleased with them as well and I'll definitely be more careful with the water exposure in the future. I would definitely go through them again for any jewelry purchase, particularly one like this that might have technical difficulties. read more

That leads me to have a terrific shopping experience, one for which I return. That's what happened to me with Billy over 12 years ago. He was working in his Dad's store in Naperville and I liked the fact that the long time jeweler's son was learning the business himself (to be fair, I'm sure he already knew the business, but at the time I'm guessing he knew less than his father). That told me Billy was probably in it for the long run, and would want to take care of me (juxtapose that with a mall jeweler, and my stomach gets sick thinking of the times as a college student or young professional I probably got screwed by someone on full commission). From Billy I bought my wife an upgraded 3 stone platinum anniversary ring for our 10th anniversary. It was aah-mazing. Beautiful. It was pricey, but that's because of the clarity, quality and size of the diamonds. I researched and found the ring to be less expensive than elsewhere. So I bought it and had the full confidence that Billy would be there to take care of me in the future if things changed. That purchase led soon thereafter to diamond stud earrings. Same quality experience, same good price. I bought them from nine other than Billy himself. My wife loves them. Fast forward 12 years. My wife's anniversary ring's center stone began to wiggle (wait, you're supposed to get diamond rings checked twice a year or even once a year? Well, we took the "never" approach and paid the price for it ;-)). Anyway, Billy is still in the jewelry business so I called him. I was not surprised at all when Billy remembered me, said he'd be happy to examine the ring and fix it, free of charge. My wife, who is as skeptical as I am of anyone whom she would give her beautiful ring to, loved the fact that the same person who sold me the ring was the same person who would now fix it. She too did not want to hand it over to just anyone, as she wasn't sure whether she would get HER diamonds back. She came with me to The Diamondaire in St. Charles and we easily trusted Billy with her ring (even the nearby restaurant recommendation he gave to us worked out great!) The 2 day repair resulted in her beautiful ring being made new again. Retipped, reshaped and professionally cleaned, all for free at Billy's insistence. When I picked it up it took me back to 12 years ago when I first bought it. Seeing it gave me butterflies and I couldn't wait to slip it on my wife's finger again. The next time I want to surprise my wife with something beautiful, I'm going back to Billy because of how he's consistently treated me over 12 years, and because I still think his motivation is to make me happy.
