I'd like to thank to my instructor, Sydney, and the SwimBox team for helping me build comfort and confidence in the water while making it fun. While most local swim schools focus primarily on children learners, SwimBox caters to all adults at every skill level. The sessions are one-on-one, giving self-conscious adult learners privacy and allowing the instructor to focus on the learner. And as opposed to the 30 minute lessons that many swim schools offer, SwimBox sessions are 45 minutes, giving the instructor plenty of time to introduce a lesson and work with the learner to sharpen newly acquired skills. Working with Sydney and the SwimBox team has been a great experience and has opened up an entirely new world for me to explore.

Along the way she has had some stand out instructors- some just really connected with her and she is now a better swimmer than I will ever be. The heated pool really helps especially at younger ages. She looks forward to every class. Now I've started with the youngest in the parent and me class, and she is already super comfortable in the water. Its not perfect- we've had a couple teachers who just didn't click along the way, but rescheduling to another class has been fairly easy as needed. Sometimes you get a sub who might not be as experienced, but its just one class. This has been outweighed by the other excellent instructors that my daughters have had. Management has also been very easy to work with and accommodating.

My child's safety( especially in water) is of the highest importance to me. As well as having management who can take responsibility and making positive changes. Today I took my daughter for a trial class. We recently went to the beach and also swam in a pool and I noticed she was a bit nervous about the water. She is 3. I will say the whole sign up process was easy and the front desk staff was very helpful. Our trial class was at 4:30pm. This started off hard because my daughter has never been in the water alone with anyone except me or her dad. There were two instructors and I did explain to both that my daughter was very afraid of the water. The instructor with brown hair was not great with kids and was not very social. When she got my daughter in the water the way that she swung her around made me super concerned for my daughter's neck. You just don't move a 3 year old around like that.. and the worst is she kept splashing water in my daughters eyes which ended up with my daughter hysterically crying and we had to leave 15 minutes into the lesson.

There are also plenty of other ways to stay fit. They have a gym, a basketball court, racquetball court, tennis court and much more. It depends on if you're from Leesburg, or from another town on how much the daily fee is. Their locker rooms are super clean, featuring plenty of showers, bathrooms and lockers. The Ida Lee Park Recreation Center is really nice. There's so much they offer for your growing child to keep them active!

I started going to the…read moreshop about a year ago as I was preparing to go on a vacation and was planning on earning my Open Water certification over seas. The staff took the time to advise me on what I needed to know, helped me pick the right equipment that I would need and explained what the PADI course would be like. As soon as I returned from my vacation with my C-card, I signed up to take the Advanced Open Water course through Sterling. Once again, they exceeded my expectations in the insight and support that they provided. I have since enjoyed 2 wonderful Camp & Dive weekend trips that Sterling put together (they think of everything). On these trips, they encourage families to participate. People go for certifications, fun dives, or even to come support family or friends as they dive. Sterling prepared all of our meals, had a nice camp fire to relax beside after a day of diving, and had water and other beverages at the ready to keep all of us hydrated. To top all that off, smores and a movie to end the day. This last trip I went on May 23-25 2014, there were around 50 of us (half were children). They even were working with a local Boy Scout troop for their certifications. Not only do I trust Sterling with my training and well, my life, but purchased all of my equipment from them as well. I was looking for a one-stop dive shop and I found it! I would say after a year of working with Sterling Silver SCUBA, they are by far the most professional, fun-loving, family-oriented dive shop I have been to. My concern was that the hose I used at the OBX felt too short and was almost about to come out of my mouth so I had to hold the regulator in my mouth or bite down hard on the mouthpiece. She answered questions about that as well as concerns I had about water leaking into the mask. She pointed out many things to consider. In short, Grace is very knowledgeable. She definitely knows what she is doing. I hope Diventures is paying her well because she deserves it.
