What a wonderful place for kids! We are taking an infant class and it's amazing. Everyone is so nice and very helpful. I highly recommend.

From being too scared to put her face in the water to jumping in happily and willingly even without goggles into 5 feet deep water!

At the trial class my son did not want to leave my husband yet the instructor took him away and into the water. My son screamed the whole class. My husband should have gotten him away from this instructor earlier but by the time he did, it was too late. My son, who was never scared of water before, is now terrified of it. He refuses to go into any pool even with us. And best of all, aquatots wont refund us for the month we paid in advance even though we never used any of those classes we paid for. What we did was the "free trial." I hope i can update this with information that they refunded us, but the manager, Selange, refused to even talk to us on the phone.

I was billed for April, and inquired on our last swim class day about this, as our last class per the notice was 2 days past the billing date. They confirmed they had our notice, that it was received on March 9, and was told the withdrawal would be entered by the end of the week, and I would be refunded. I got a class reminder the following week, and called about our withdrawal and refund. I was told again that they had put notice and it would be done by end of week. Then came Easter, with no classes, but I glut a notification that my class was cancelled and a makeup was added to my account. I got another call about my class for this weekend being cancelled due to no instructor, and again told them that we moved, we withdrew from the class a month ago, and we are still waiting for the refunded billing. At this point, I am a few days away from being billed for another month for a service I CANNOT use because I don't live there anymore. I am usually a pretty easy going person, but this is ridiculous.

This is the third swim school we've tried in the area and it is by far the best. They take the time…read moreto actually help the kids improve, and each instructor is engaged and friendly with the kids. Another pro is that the kids get to stay in the water (on a ledge/seat) when they're waiting their turn - my son used to complain about being cold when he'd have to get out and wait his turn at the other places (even though it's 100 degrees in those pool areas! ). One suggestion for improvement is their online parent portal- it's gotten better since we've started going here but still could be easier to navigate.

We have had a largely positive experience with Big Blue Swim School, and it is easily one of the…read moremost professional child-focused businesses we've encountered. The Pros: From a business operations standpoint, Big Blue is top-notch. The facility is impressively clean, and the pool design is specifically optimized to facilitate effective lessons. Their website integration is seamless, making scheduling and tracking progress very easy. What really stands out is their framework for instruction. While there is a constant churn of instructors (which seems inevitable in this industry), the quality remains remarkably consistent. We've encountered poor instructors at other swim schools in the past, but every teacher here has been great. They clearly have a rigorous training program in place. Most importantly, they achieved a huge milestone for us: they helped my son get over his fear of putting his head in the water. He now has no qualms about it at all, which was a major hurdle for him. The Cons: Ratios and Policies There are two main drawbacks. First, the 4:1 student-to-teacher ratio feels a bit high. On days when only two kids show up, my son does noticeably better. When the class is at the full four-student capacity, the progress feels diluted. Second, the cancellation policy is quite consumer-unfriendly. They require an unusually long four-week notice to end a subscription. It feels excessive to be locked into another full month of payments once you've decided to move on or your child's needs have changed. It's a rigid policy that feels more about guaranteed revenue than it does about accommodating families. Why We Are Moving On (For Now) We are currently canceling our subscription because our son has hit a plateau. At his current level, the focus is almost entirely on swimming face-down with arms extended on a barbell floatie, relying solely on kicking for momentum. He starts strong but loses breath and momentum 75% of the way across the pool. It feels like all other aspects of his swimming development have been put on pause until he masters this one specific skill. Since he hasn't been able to clear this hurdle for a while, we've decided to seek alternative instruction to see if a different approach helps him break through. Overall: We would still recommend Big Blue for their professionalism and ability to build water confidence. We are open to rejoining in the future once he has progressed further elsewhere.

Along the way she has had some stand out instructors- some just really connected with her and she is now a better swimmer than I will ever be. The heated pool really helps especially at younger ages. She looks forward to every class. Now I've started with the youngest in the parent and me class, and she is already super comfortable in the water. Its not perfect- we've had a couple teachers who just didn't click along the way, but rescheduling to another class has been fairly easy as needed. Sometimes you get a sub who might not be as experienced, but its just one class. This has been outweighed by the other excellent instructors that my daughters have had. Management has also been very easy to work with and accommodating.

Only reduced one star due to recently increased class size/reduced swim time (25 minutes for 4 kids is around 5 minutes in water), but can't complain due to how much my kids confidence in water has improved and glad she was able to be in smaller class while she improved then Long version: I really love this swim school-my kid who is not only shy but also a bit anxious about swimming grew so much here with the instructor Tim. Tim is incredibly patient and great with kids. We also did trial with a different instructor before committing and the staff were all so responsive and supportive. The kid my daughter was paired with has some behavioral issues but we manage. Recently two more kids were added to the class and so there isn't too much swim time for a 25-30 minute class-think my kid was in water twice for last class (think 25/4 is pretty much around 5 minutes in water). With that said, my kid now wants to practice swimming in bath-this would have been unheard of before. I think she isn't too far from learning how to swim all on own and it's been a few months-she's been practicing both on her belly and back and now perfecting some mechanics and increasing confidence even more. We are really proud and overall can't complain. For us, we noticed its same instructor every class unlike other reviewers so think Goldfish may have improved our experience based on some of reviews, which I see as a really good thing that they are willing to listen to feedback to improve. The pool seems heated and clean, also great space with showers/changing rooms/bathrooms/hair blowdrying stations/candies/goggles for sale in case you forget, etc. There's large waiting area for parents to watch swimming which is great with lifeguard. They also let you go in to watch your kids progress after every class and hear the teacher's feedback which is great.

All competitive lanes were closed for swimming even though they were advertised as open online. :( I have yet to see the diving boards used as they appear to be permanently shut down. Now, the only gripe I have about the school is when they have subs for the normal swim teachers. I understand that life happens, but when the sub seems clueless to how the class is organized, it becomes frustrating. Not only for the babies, but also for the parents paying the school fee. I have seen it a few times where the parents are complaining about the class. The training could be a little cleaner or at least have a veteran teacher with someone who is new. I decided to put the classes on hold after one billing period due to vacation plans. Gave them 30 days notice as requested. So there should be 10 lessons in total which ends today, July 26. My husband took kids to lesson yesterday July 25. He thought swim lessons has ended because instructor told him yesterday was the last session. I knew today's the last lesson at the back of my head because we have received only 9 sessions so far. I had to call them to ask why it was cancelled. No explanation given. They reinstated my session immediately. If you like this swim school, good for you. Pricing is competitive and kids have extracurricular activities. However I won't be signing up for another billing cycle due to their glitchy useless app for private classes, subpar lessons and overwhelmed instructors who take a few minutes off of each session. Below is more insight into my personal experience. Keep reading if you are interested. - I had the perfect disaster month of the year to sign up. June to July. Fourth of July fell on a Thursday this year. As a result, my Thursday session was cancelled. And they also cancelled Friday 7/5. No cancellation notifications received. We showed up for Friday lesson. Had to come back home. No makeup passes were issued - I had to call multiple times to schedule two makeup classes because they cannot schedule more than three days in advance for private lessons. I don't have any power in the app because I signed up for semi-private lessons. They have to do it from their end. Paid more money for zero convenience. Want app power? Go for regular classes that share time with three other kids. Your child will receive instructions for about 7 minutes per session and watch his/her classmates for 23 minutes. We see it as a complete waste of time. Upgrade to private classes and pay more. You will lose app control. We had a makeup class on a busy Wednesday evening. All swim lanes were occupied. My kids were pushed to the stairs near the exit and handicapped chair. My daughter kept hitting the chair everytime she comes out of water. This is the kind of treatment you will get here for paying more money for private classes. Messy management and the front desk has no idea what they are doing. My calls were always put on hold while they find out answers for me. Manager Gillian was only interested in selling the plan to us during first visit. No more interactions afterwards even though I see her behind the desk time to time. These 30 minutes lessons always end 3-4m early. No I do not appreciate that. Let kids stay in water for full 30 then discuss progress with parents after. Also I find instructors feedback are very generalized and not really helpful to parents. We worked with 3-4 different instructors over the past month. My kids favorite was coach Rachel but she often seem overworked. School has plenty of changing rooms so you don't have to worry in that department. Bathrooms are maintained clean. However, One swim dryer has been broken for the entire month we were there. They never fixed it. Overall this is a shady place that's not fully transparent with their operating practices. Also from my personal analysis there's a certain skill ceiling for kids here. They won't become swim experts because management is only trying to squeeze money out of your wallet for long run. Interest to kids progress comes second to them.

Most (like me) only arrive on the dot at class time and leave the studio immediately at class end time. It is no secret that I have had insane difficulty with making a single acquaintance at any OTF studio location. My review history supports this too. However, I'll rate up bc the location is convenient enough, parking is free and generous, and I get along w/ most of the coaches. Which is at least the bare minimum that one can ask for. The one thing I dislike about this or any other OTF studio is the insane high prices (for the unlimited tier I pay 180$ monthly) and also even despite paying monthly costs, it is impossible to meet anyone or make even an acquaintance to start. Life is brutal and OTF even more so. As said, to be fair I think this location is OK, and the coaches are friendly enough, most of the time. I will likely revisit but I don't hold any high hopes on forging social connections or meeting any worthwhile folks here.

Walked up through what the company was, what to expect and checked in with us at the end of the class to explain the results chart. We felt fully engaged the whole time during the course. It was awesome that the course lasts 60 minutes and it's easy to work into busy schedules. The calories you burn are based upon what you put into the class, though I burned almost 600 calories for my first class. The only part my gf and I didn't like was waiting after the class to see the prices. The prices are pretty steep, $169/mth to go unlimited. The heart monitors are pretty steep as well $69 for the waist and $109 for the arm band. Apparently the prices vary based on promotions that are running. I went to work to ask my coworkers if any of them tried OT and someone from greenbrier OT said their club rate is $159 and he get's additional for first responder discount. So I started calling around to other clubs, since you are able to visit any of them without extra payments (except for city locations). Overall we had a great time checking out the gym. I like the OT concept and the group of customers they had were super supportive during our class. I am still shopping around for promotions and heart monitors to see if this could be a feasible replacement for my current workout plan.
