We came on the recommendation of a friend when we asked for good Chinese food. We got there on a Monday around 5 pm when we were just too tired to cook. It was a bit of a surprise since it looked more fast food. There were only 2 other tables taken (not surprising as they eat later here).
We selected our table and our server brought waters. We selected wonton broth. For entrees, we chose Chicken Chop Suey and Chicken Chow Mein and Shrimp Fried Rice.
The soup came out fairly quick-and it was a huge portion as warned but we love leftovers so it was ok. It was like
Wonton flavor with everything else you would get with wonton soup but didn't have wontons. It was tasty but not near as filling as the kind with wontons. Perfect timing; as soon as we finished our soup the Shrimp Fried Rice came out. It was very good with a delicious flavor (maybe a touch sesame oil?). Then our entrees Chicken Chow Mein-which was amazing with lightly fried noodles and Chicken Chop Suey-all bean sprouts-No, I mean a couple pieces of chicken, broccoli and onion and a platter of bean sprouts in a nice sauce so it was weird to just eat a mouthful of bean sprouts-even though I love them. I also asked for a small white rice which was good size a cup and a half.
Needless to say, we had leftovers galore. I will add some chicken to the Chickenless Chop Suey to make it stretch. We will enjoy it for at least a couple days. We probably won't go back since we found other Chinese restaurants in town. It may be a great spot for a quick takeout since it's behind the Pemex station. read more
