Golden Wok has been my go-to Chinese restaurant in Spring Hill for years. Their General Tso's Chicken is my favorite thing to order. I always get the house mustard as well. It gives the perfect kick. Every time I go to Golden Wok I am greeted by the staff and they are always pleasant. The store is a typical store front place, but it is a good one. This place is terrible. I'm not sure if they had an off day, but even starving for the first time in probably my life I actually returned food it was so inedible. The pork dumplings had a weird rubber taste but the odd thing is it didn't taste like pork. The shrimp low mein, same thing. It tasted weird but didn't actually taste like shrimp, & the general tsao was hard & chewy. I ended up returning my food for a refund which was a fight in itself because I didn't return their 10 item out of $40 meal, remind you that I know have to spend my time figuring out something else to eat and spend my time driving to this crap box twice. Wow! Extremely pleased. It looks like a typical takeout place but they treated us like With a warm welcome. They customized our order and when I asked them to add $2 more worth of shrimp, it was impressive. The dumplings where to best we have ever had. Have ordered here for 4 years and have no plans to change restaurants. Each Chinese restaurant is different and you can really taste the difference with their wonton soup - it's delicious and not too fragrant (unlike another Chinese restaurant I tasted. Ordered here for the first time last night...never again! Ordered pork fried rice - dried out and tasted weird. Pork dumplings - not great without the sauce, with the sauce I liked them. Veggie lo mein - I enjoyed it, family did not. Egg rolls - were okay, but I'm used to them having more filling than these did. The item I was most excited for...crab Rangoon -- the WORST!! There was no filling!! Broke them open to see the tiniest dollop ever. Couldn't tell you what the filling tasted like bc there was literally nothing inside. read more

Worst Chinese food ever, asked for chicken with broccoli with white sauce and extra white sauce and pork fried rice, got steamed chicken and raw broccoli with no flavor at all. All Fried Rice is just meh, but has decent amounts of meat. It's best eaten mixed with other food. The Egg Foo Young is really good, but the sauce can be overpowering. I ask for it on the side.
