Part 2 of my fiancée's engagement ring-a-rama now involved finding a jeweler who specializes in gem stones. A friend of a friend told us about this place and that they do real good work. So we went to this store.
If you're not looking for it, you'd miss it. Their sign is completely hidden by a set of stairs and the guy working at the UPS next door who went outside for at least 5 hits from his pipe, might intimidate you to the location. Look past all that.
The owner is real friendly and understood exactly what kind of sapphire we were needing. Unfortunately, he didn't have any of the proper sizes in stock but we had the exact dimensions and said he could bring in 6 different sapphire and we could compare. One week later, my love was ogling 6 blue gems, wishing she could buy all of them :). We made our choice, gave him our ring and 4 days later, my lady had her dream ring. She was over-the-moon happy with it! The jeweler told us to come in for free basic cleaning anytime and explained they can provide more detailed cleaning for a fee but then he went ahead and told us how we could do the same type of cleaning on out own. Wonderful, wonderful store that specializes in all sorts of beautiful precious stones (I was terrified by the look of lust in my ladies' eyes went she saw all of his loose rubies. My credit card held it's breath) The stone was $390 and the setting costed $100, which I thought was a little high but the work is quality and well worth it. A BIG 5 STARS for Golden Touch Jewelry. read more
