Not a great experience to say the least. Complete pressure sales technique and not cheap. We were helped through our entire engagement/wedding ring purchase with the lovely Haley Murphy. Haley was always friendly, helpful honest and sweet. We chose a band from a catalogue exactly how I wanted and she advised that they would keep ordering rings until we found the right one. The wedding band was a little more arsin' around given it had to be custom made, but they ended up giving it to us for an amazing price. Their new location is in Aspen Woods, which isn't particularly convenient given their old location was on 17th avenue. But it all came down to this - as a man who runs his family business, he wanted to support a family business. Goldsmiths, a family run jewellery store for the last 40, is the type of place you could drive by everyday on your way to work for a year and not even notice it. Like I did. He knew what type of person I was, he kind of hand an idea of what I would like - so he found a few pictures but more than anything, used words to describe to the staff there what he thought the ring should look like. With the descriptions he gave them, they created a one of a kind, vintage inspired engagement ring. They took time and energy to custom design a setting that he would be proud to put a diamond on. Numerous visit, back and forth decision making, hair pulling, he had nothing but their full attention to make sure it was perfect. On top of that - he says flat out he got the most diamond for his money, far and beyond what other retailers and wholesalers could offer him. He thinks it's because they are a family run business and what is a marriage but the start of a family?

When I received the bracelet, I took it to 2 engravers who were unable to engrave it due to the style. I notified the store immediately and waited 10 days for the owner to return my call. She informed me that they would not allow me to return it or even get a store credit. I had to buy a bracelet from another store and explained the need to engraving. They told me they would return the bracelet if I was unable to get it engraved. This style of bracelet was successfully engraved. I was very surprised at Ollivier's poor customer service in not returning my call in a more timely fashion and their unwillingness to even offer store credit. Be very aware of their store policies before you buy!

As a reference point, the final repair fee ended up being 25% of what I was quoted by another jewelry store (where I originally purchased the piece). To summarize: - Extremely prompt in responding to queries; - Very reasonable repair pricing; - Turnaround time on my repair was 1 day.
