I recently had to go into work by 7am and decided to try this place for breakfast. I love to…read moresupport local and decided to try the local version of Einstein Bagels. And BOY, did they deliver. I was so full after finishing this. I was struggling to finish it by the last few bites. They have a lot of options for bagels and coffee. I wish I took a picture of their menu, but I'm not me when I don't have coffee and esp at 615am. Their blue berry cream cheese was absolutely phenomenal. If I ate a bagel every day, I'd buy their containers of their freshly made cream cheeses. They had so many flavors. There's plenty of parking even when it does get busy in this area. But nowhere near as bad as other areas like North Park. The staff were very friendly and efficient. I noticed they had a lot of customers buying their freshly made bagels by the dozen. Definitely a good place to stop by for some filling breakfast/brunch and some coffee. Especially if you're nearby like the Firestone and hungry. This is a great place to visit to eat and pass the time.

The menu is huge with tons of options, but since it was my first visit I decided to play it safe. The bagel itself was delicious. It was chewy with great flavor from the everything seasoning. I especially loved the onions in the sandwich, which added a nice savory bite. It did take a little while for our bagels to come out, but everything tasted fresh and warm when it arrived, so the wait felt worth it. Next time I come back, I definitely want to try the cinnamon raisin bagel with one of their spreads. There's seating both inside and outside, and on such a nice day I opted to sit outdoors. It was slightly busy, but the line moved quickly and the staff kept orders moving at a good pace. Overall, a great spot for a casual bagel breakfast or lunch, and I'm looking forward to coming back to try more of the menu.

Of course, the meats are tougher to replicate, but this is the absolute BEST vegan bacon I have ever had. The sausage is great too. The sandwiches are good, but I think that the last time we went they had a heavy mustard hand because it's all I could taste. I would skip the Turkey-Bacon Club and get the Reuben instead. I'm looking forward to trying the BLT and the hot dogs! The cream cheese is reeeeeally good too. We tried the Jalapeno and the Bacon-Scallion. I recommend getting one of those added to your bagel sandwich.

Flavor-wise, it was excellent: the strawberry wasn't overpowering, and the oat milk didn't mask the matcha. You could still taste both the matcha and the strawberry. The consistency was just right for a cream-style latte. It's sweeter than traditional matcha, so if you prefer your matcha strong and slightly bitter, this might not be the drink for you. But if you like a lightly sweetened matcha where the flavor still comes through, this one is perfect. I'm curious to try their regular matcha next. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I mentioned my dietary restrictions (celiac), and they were accommodating, though there's always a possibility of cross-contamination, so keep that in mind. The shop itself is a great place to catch up with friends, study, or just relax. They offer light snacks like pastries, bagels, toast, parfaits, and acai bowls--unfortunately, nothing gluten-free for me, but still great options for others. Even though they were busy, the line moved quickly. Overall, this is a great matcha spot, and I can't wait to try more drinks next time I'm in town!

I like the roasting profile they use, and for a while, they've stocked a Costa Rica Sonora Black-Honey Natural that is just fantastic. Joe Paraiso, the owner, is a very experienced coffee purveyor, and he's been incredibly kind to me, sharing his time and knowledge to make sure I get what I want. And, not for nothing, when I'm at Brew Coffee Spot picking up the beans I ordered online, I always have a coffee. Joe either does a great job of training his baristas, or he's REALLY good at hiring talent, or both. Seriously... his folks make my coffees, usually a cortado or a straight espresso, with a downtown San Francisco or Rome level of competence.

Recently, I spent some time back in La Mesa and thought I would go back and try this spot out. So much space, friendly staff, reasonable prices, with a bunch of gluten-free and vegan options when it comes to food. Plenty of parking, outdoor seating as well, and even when they were busy, I think I did not wait more than five minutes for my drink. I chose to use their honey syrup instead of regular honey, and was not disappointed with my iced oatmilk latte also, I have to point out something you don't typically see at a lot of coffee shops. Both times I went, there was an incredible mix of generations in that shop. From younger to older, it was awesome to see generations coming together. Great job guys!
