I love the frozen yogurt from golden spoon because it is so smooth and creamy. I like the topping choices too. I ordered a regular chocolate with peanut butter. My toppings are almonds and coconut. They have a small parking lot behind the building. I was so happy to come back to golden spoon. We used to have them in Vegas.

It's delicious!

Arrived just after opening and met a trainee who warmly welcomed me. Bright, clean, ADA friendly. Upon ordering the experienced employee appeared. Having once been a retail manager was impressed and appreciated the patience and incredible specific, applicable direction taught in my transaction. Who knew there's a specific way to seal the top of a to-go cup or how to legitimately fill a to-go container - grateful I can depend on a uniform outcome! Wish I'd got their names; the trainer should travel your district. All of the above is impressive, yet we know it's all about the frozen yogurt! Salted Caramel is pretty spectacular and/or never a disappointment!

This is one of the OG Yogurt Shops in OC. I remember coming with my college friends. Very nostalgic for me, growing up in the area. All of the times I've visited, the staff are super friendly and helpful. Sure, some of them are more friendlier than others but they are generally all FRIENDLY. I have my FAVE servers of course. Today we came by and saw their remodeled space since a car ran into their shop a month ago. We loved the new red and black paint colors and the new floors. Looks amazing and bright now. The shop is always clean when we come in whether it's at opening, middle of the day, or in the evenings. There are times we've seen the tables dirty with melted yogurt but it's from messy customers that don't clean after themselves. When it's busy, the poor staff cannot go to clean the mess if they have a line out the door. We are ok with understanding that. I read through some of the negative reviews and they don't seem to be regulars that live in the area but people that are not locals. We've gone enough times to see that the staff are not the problem, it's almost always the rude customers. We normally get the following: 01. Chocolate Gelato (so smooth and yummy) - with Mochi, broken Waffle Cones or Granola 02. Coffee (so good) 03. Salted Caramel 04. Non-Diary (in the summertime) - Mango (would love if they had Watermelon or Peach for summertime) NOTE: They are pretty generous with portions and toppings. I like the soft-serve consistency vs the traditional stiffer texture. The Staff are always great about asking if you want your order in a cup with a lid or a cone. I always get a cup to take with me. Portions are good.

Been coming to golden spoon in CDM FOR 25 years. Everytime someone from out of town is visiting we end up our night enjoying some froyo I was embarrassed to walk in tonight. The store was disgusting and messy. The garbage can was overflowing. There were no mixers and the few that were there were overflowing into the other canisters. Huge bummer

Yougurt

This is the worst yogurt shop in oc. They will charge you more for your toppings than your actual yogurt and argue with you, keep your money when you dispute raw cookie dough sitting out for hours in your cookie dough.

More "soft-serve" consistency than frozen yogurt, but still one of my favorite dessert shops. I used to frequent the Irvine location all the time so I'm so glad there's one in CDM nearby. Can't go wrong w/ the old fashioned vanilla, and the cookies and cream is decadent and creamy. Love how many toppings there are - the edible cookie dough is a fan favorite! Excellent service - on the pricier end, but you will leave feeling satisfied (& maybe on a sugar high!)

First time coming here service was fast. Team worker named Kyle was doing an amazing job. Managed rush stunningly while efficiently completing online orders. Maintained a friendly and clean environment. Food was amazing! Give Kyle a raise!

I'm shocked by the low rating of Golden Spoon. My husband and I spent the day in CDM and thoroughly enjoyed ending the day with something sweet before heading back to San Diego. We went mid day, around 3pm, so it was very quiet with exception to the 10 people who came and went over the half hour we sat outside. The employee working was friendly and helpful and the restaurant was clean and fully stocked. I ordered a small mango passionfruit sorbet which was so tangy and delicious that I wish I would've ordered a bigger size. My hubby had the peanut butter and cookies and cream which was creamy and spectacular. Definitely going again the next time we're up there.

It's his absolute favorite, and we were so excited to hear they're opening a location closer to our home. Because we come so often, I intentionally order him the smallest serving to limit his sugar, but for years I've asked them to put that same small amount in the largest cup so it doesn't melt and spill everywhere. I'm not asking for one drop of extra gelato... just a bigger paper cup. Recently, a manager told me they could no longer do this because they're "losing too much money" on the larger cups. I was honestly flabbergasted. Meanwhile, customers standing in line are offered free gelato samples, often multiple samples, but apparently an empty larger cup for a five-year-old is where we draw the line on cost? The photos show exactly why I ask. This time we had brought friends and their children with us, and everyone walked outside with gelato overflowing and melting everywhere. At the volume they buy their cups even if the larger cup costs 50 cents more.. THEN charge me for it! I'd happily pay FOR THE COST OF A LARGER CUP. But after years of loyalty and hundreds of visits.. bringing EVERYONE for "Bacio break" being told this tiny accommodation is costing the company too much money was incredibly disappointing. The first time this manager said this, I let it slide.. this was the 4th recent visit and I HAD TO SHARE MY EXPERIENCE. So although their gelato is tasty... they have a very disappointing approach to customer service from top down....hospitality is not anywhere near their priority list.

I got the frozen banana dipped in premium dark chocolate with peanuts and toasted coconut. It was the perfect frozen treat -- refreshing, chocolatey, and crunchy without being too heavy. Service was friendly too! I chatted with the guy who dipped my banana and asked if he enjoyed working there. He said yes and that it's a lot of fun, which was nice to hear. I also appreciated the wide container they serve the banana in, because toppings will definitely fall as you eat! I noticed Dad's uses a much narrower container, so this one made eating it a lot less messy. There was no line when I arrived, but around 6:30-6:45 PM, a big crowd showed up. Decided to drive down to Newport for the day, wound up browsing the shops at Fashion Island, and…read morethen wound up having lunch at Great Maple, one of the better, sit-down restaurants at the center. It's a bright and airy venue, with thick, clubby stools at the bar and a dual, indoor/outdoor dining area that's just right for the coastal California locale. We arrived near the end of the lunch rush, so we were quickly seated by the friendly Hostess, though there were still plenty of folks eating, and a lively buzz was still thrumming through the room. It was just the right energy for a Saturday lunch. Our server, Darren, was a hoot, with a slight shimmy to his step and personality for days -- sometimes that can be a bit much, but in this case his charisma added a much appreciated charm to the meal. While we didn't imbibe at this sitting, they do have a full bar with a nice selection of cocktails suitable for brunch or dinner, and it's easy to imagine whiling away quite a few hours here at another opportunity. The menu offers a number of clever twists on brunch and lunch mainstays, especially house-made doughnuts and a few Benedicts that push all the buttons of "well, this is something appealingly different." That said, we were just tad boring today as diners, ordering a Burger and the house BLT. We may have made some ordinary-sounding decisions, but Great Maple's versions of these favorites were far from ordinary at all. The burger is made with high quality beef that has just the right amount of fat to make it juicy while retaining the integrity of the flavor of the meat. Cheese, veggies and a fresh brioche bun rounded out the presentation, as did a perfectly achieved pink medium rare. This was a very good, very satisfying burger served with crispy, shoestring fries that really hit the spot. The BLT is built on Levain sourdough that is thick-cut and lightly toasted, and holds up nicely against the moisture in the tomatoes and bright, leafy lettuce. Aioli had a noticeable but mild, and very enjoyable, garlic accent that played really well with everything, walking the line between "spread" and "dressing," and becoming a meaningful component of the sandwich rather than being just an adornment. But the star of the sandwich was the smoky bacon, cut thick enough to retain a pleasing chew while also boasting the kind of char and crisp that make for the most enjoyable bacon on a sandwich. Really, this was a terrific BLT, far above what you normally get, and, as I said before, not anywhere near as ordinary as you may think. So, a very good lunch at Great Maple, and very good reason to plan another visit very soon. Kudos to everyone.

Most of the food was really good, but there were a couple of misses as well. What we ordered: + Fried Chicken and Doughnuts - I was really excited to try their famous maple bacon donuts, but they were surprisingly bad. These donuts were dense, like day-old bread. It has good reviews, so maybe I'm just partial to light, airy donuts. The fried chicken was good though. + Ribeye Hash - hubby ordered this and really enjoyed it. It was huge. + Kids Pancakes with scrambled eggs - we were surprised our little one didn't like the pancakes (which he usually loves), but after we tasted it, we understood why. It had a weird sour after-taste. I've had buttermilk pancakes before, and they never tasted sour. Also, the texture was not fluffy, but kinda flat, and the color was very light. Maybe it wasn't fully cooked (see photo). However, he devoured the scrambled eggs, which he usually doesn't touch. + Chilaquiles - very good. It was a tower. + Modern American Breakfast - pretty good. The vegan avocado toast was average. Overall, this is a nice brunch place with some good options. Other than the donuts and pancakes, the rest of the food was really good.

Well, if you haven't jumped on the TikTok bandwagon yet they are basically a mix of traditional American donuts and Japanese Mochi. Made with rice and tapioca flour, they come in the signature "pon de ring" shape that makes them very identifiable. I've been curious about them for awhile but never wanted to cheat on my classic doughnuts. When the glistening new mochinuts caught my eye, I figured it might be the time to start trying other doughnuts lol When I finally caved and purchased some and opened my box of mochinuts, I was pleasantly surprised. I would best describe them as soft, chewy, but not too sticky. Flavors were very mild and despite the enticing decorative toppings, the mochinuts all tasted relatively the same. Additionally, I recommend you devour these morsels when they are fresh as they don't age well with time. By the next morning, the toppings started melting off the tops of my mochinuts. Were they still edible? Yes but I would recommend placing it in the microwave for about 15 seconds to soften them again.
