Last month I finally left this establishment and should have done this much sooner. I am currently saving a significant amount of money by doing so at another facility. Savings of $140 a month, for the same size unit!!! Dina and Dave who live on this site are great. Dina is the regional manager and Kariss is the site manager. When I first moved in Kriss did her job, as she should. I rented the units but immediately she wanted me to leave a five star review. I did so but that was based on just the move in. During the time there I became increasingly frustrated with Khriss. Reasons why are numerous but the main thing was loss of money. My money!!! After giving written and verbal notice of departure, well in advance for that a specific unit I saw that she let the autopay charge for that empty unit go thru! Once again that was loss of my money!!! Khriss is a nice person but I feel that she definitely dropped the ball on something that was solely her responsibility! Dina did make sure that another overcharge was revoked. Like I said there are other numerous circumstances that cause me to give her this one star review. No brag just fact!

This RV Park has turned into a money grab. $90+ per night…read moreplus the fee to make an online reservation. Site lock fee And if you check in between 12 and 2 there's another $25 fee. Split the difference and just have check-in time at one like most RV parks. We come here 1-3 times a year. Not one time have we been assessed the early check in fee. We checked in at 1:35 pm and were charged the $25. The smug, smartass attendant charged me when I said I wasn't ok with it. When we came in January we were not charged the fee. People next to us said they came in June and weren't charged the fee. By the time we were setup I didn't even turn on the power until 2:05. SMH I tried talking to the higher ups but to no avail. They all point the finger at each other. Point to policy. But it's ok to close the office down an hour earlier than posted. Thats fine. I know we are just tiny fish in their giant pond but i did some stuff that made me feel better. Instead of having pizza and bowling. We skipped the pizza and ate a better meal in our rig. Saved us $75. Our friends that live in Jamestown took us out for our anniversary. They were taking us to seven sisters. They took us somewhere else after talking with them. We had a great time and that $500 was better spent somewhere else. Instead of dropping $175 at their over priced gas station, which we always do when we come here. We will fill up at home. Also 3/4 of the items in the store are not priced. Retail 101, the price tag is the silent salesman. Lastly, instead of making a donation in the slots I kept my money. Usually it's only a $200 for me. So because of their poor customer service We spent over a $1000 elsewhere and not at black Oak. I suggest instead of saying you're subject to an early check in fee, you should say it's a mandatory early check in fee.

The owners are extremely friendly and helpful and have been extremely accommodating whenever we bring our kiddos. The place is always BEAUTIFULLY and seasonally decorated. As lovely as the "Bed" part of the stay is, the "Breakfast" feels like the star of the show! You can let the innkeepers know about any dietary restrictions, but as an omnivore, every dish they serve is AMAZING, both aesthetically and culinarily. This place is magical, and I will take any opportunity I can to visit.

They have strong security with all of the usual stuff (cameras, gates, etc.) and also a live on property person. The access days/hours are good, prices are reasonable, and things look clean and very well maintained. This is a really easy choice to for storage and I'm glad that I picked them for my needs.

Gina the Manager is ruthless and I was prepaid on my unit months in advance! She decided to kick me out for throwing an empty coffe cup over the fence. she limited my entrance times to only 6 hours a day I couldn't move my precious items out in time and had just broken my femur. A very comfortable and quiet little cottage. Although, the bathroom was huge with a walk-in shower. There are no tvs in the cottages and the WiFi is a little dodgy. Cell phone reception isn't the best either. I think what I am getting at is that you can really disconnect when you say at La Honda Park. You are forced to communicate with your loved ones. The cottages are only equipped with a microwave. If you want to cook something more robust, there is a communal kitchen in the pool house. Believe me, it has everything you need. Also, there are bbqs in just about every common area. Aside from the beautiful grounds and comfortable accommodations, there is the barn. The barn is probably the best part about this place. It has a foosball table, a pool table, poker table, dart board, and a tv. The back doors slide open to a small seating area overlooking Angel Creek. I can't describe it. You just need to experience. The owner are Jenn and Barr. They were so nice. Once we checked in, they left us alone. In fact, they left the property. Besides my family, there was another family staying in the Main House. They were very nice and welcoming. I can't wait to go back and sit next to the creek and drink my morning coffee.

A gaggle of girlfriends rented three cottages here, as three of us were celebrating our 40th/41st birthdays. The perfect "home base" for staging an attack upon Murphys downtown shopping, dining and wine tasting establishments, or as a leap-off point for local hikes and the gorgeous Moaning and Mercer Caverns. Each cottage is appointed with a gas-fueled faux wood-stove fireplace (easy operation via thermostat), fridge, micro, coffee maker, basic silverware/plates/cups, wonderful showers (great for power-washing off the mud and sweat after a day of rappelling and spelunking!) and extremely comfortable queen beds. Each cottage has its own character, giving the feel of the kind of decor a favorite aunt might select for your family's personal mountain cabin. Extremely clean and comfortable! Hang out by the fire, or chill out on your own front porch overlooking the lawn and creek. Or... ...head over to The Barn, a communal recreation room appointed with an air-hockey table, pool table, kitchen area (including a wine fridge!) and big-screen satellite TV/sat radio. The Barn was recently remodeled, using reclaimed barnwood, corrugated metal (for the ceiling sub-roof) and a pretty brilliant wallcovering that looks like warm old plaster, but is actually recycled craft paper and some sort of natural varnish. Cool! Also, a few relics from the region's mining days. There are board games, darts, books and other stuff to keep the individual, family or small group entertained. There's a large swimming pool (unheated in winter) and a small wading pool adjacent to another community kitchen and outdoor picnic area, and the only thing this area lacks is a hot tub. (Hint, hint!) Finally, there's Cosmo, the biggest, sweetest cat you'll ever want to kidnap. He's not allowed in the cabins, but he'll happily keep you company as you read a book on the porch, or wander up to the beautiful waterfalls behind the barn. He'll also keep score if you want to use the bocce court or horseshoe pits! Parking is limited, so don't expect to haul in ATV trailers or your RVs, but that's about the only con to this wonderful little family-run resort!
