Outstanding. Just had dinner and really enjoyed it.
The ambiance is both bright and earthy, with lots of browns and tans but still very vibrant. It's in pretty large space too (with a rooftop bar apparently). Got there early so it was almost empty but by the time we left at 9:15 it was getting pretty full.
The menu is basically small plates/starters, three larger plates, a fish to share, some sides and desserts. Worth noting that the menu is pescatarian so if you need beef or pork or your mother-in-law only eats chicken you might need to go elsewhere.
We started with the scallop in its shell and the turnip tart. The tart was great -- full of sweet roasted heirloom turnips, currants and hazelnuts -- but the scallop was amazing: perfectly sweet and in a savory sabayon sauce. Wonderful
For our main we shared the grilled dorade which, even though it was the most expensive thing on the menu, was a ton of fish with some awesome accoutrements. The fish was grilled perfectly (though I couldn't taste any difference that it was dry-aged) and amazing with the sauces alongside. I especially liked the carrot purée alongside it (as well as the shiso leaves with the greens with the fish). We also got the Parker rolls with, among other sauces, an amazing egg yolk jam.
Dessert was simple but awesome -- yogurt soft serve sweetened with pineapple puree and praline crunch -- wonderful.
Overall I would absolutely return for the scallop, the yogurt, that egg yolk jam and to try some other fish dishes. read more
