Best $35 I've spent in some time. I was visiting my friend in Portland who's a genius and scheduled each of us a chair treatments at Golden Hour pretty promptly after I arrived. I was exhausted and not feeling great (I tend to get stomach aches when I travel) and this was 10000% what the doctor ordered. So, what should you expect? Walk into their dreamy, quiet, perfect lobby to get checked in. If it's your first time there you'll have to fill out a little release/registration form. All of the staff I encouraged were super nice and calm and undeniably cool. We didn't have to wait long at all before we were taken into another very pretty room with comfy recliners and baskets for your shoes and belongings. Isabelle was great in walking us through the chair treatment. The service starts with some aromatherapy and a shoulder/neck massage. Next is acupuncture (she mostly focused on my legs to relieve some of my stomach pain) and relaxation for about 30 minutes. I wore an eye mask and could definitely have fallen asleep! After the 30 minutes Isabella took the needles out, did a gentle arm massage, and then let me know I could take my time getting to the lobby where a hot tea and hot towel were waiting for me. I was honestly in a dream land for a little while after the whole thing--it was *so* good. If you're coming here for a chair treatment, definitely wear loose fitting clothing and warm socks. They have blankets, but I wore super thin socks and was scared to put the blanket over the acupuncture needles and my toes got a little chilly. As I said earlier, $35 was very well spent on this and IMO such a steal. This would be a really nice gift, date, girls day, or just a way to treat yourself during a stressful week. Love how the whole thing was less than an hour but totally rejuvenating. If you're in PDX or visiting soon, definitely get Golden Hour on your list! read more

This is your golden hour. I have been here four times for acupuncture and always impressed by the space, relaxing environment, and how they transport you to a new level of peace. I enjoy their group chair acupuncture which keeps the price affordable and you still have plenty of space and attention! Great location in the inner SE and plenty of street parking and public transit. Check it out and unplug for an hour. read more

My daughter bought me a gift certificate to Golden Hour which I had never been to before. I booked a reflexology appointment with Amanda. I arrived late due to a very long train nearby expecting to hear that my treatment would be cut short due to my tardiness. Instead, they were so friendly and not flustered in the least by my late arrival. The space is beautiful and unique, smells heavenly and supports an immediate feeling of relaxation. My treatment began with a foot soak and warm neck wrap which helped to shift my busy mind into a calm state prior to my treatment. The treatment room was warm, aromatic and very comfortable. Amanda's energy was welcoming and chill, exactly what you want from a practitioner. She expressed how much she liked working there which was nice to hear. Her treatment was fantastic and resulted in the best night's sleep I've had in months. As a bonus, she didn't engage me in idle conversation during the treatment which I've run into so often with body work. I will definitely return to Golden Hour and would highly recommend giving yourself or someone else the gift of relaxation at this amazing center. Their prices are very competitive and they even have offerings starting under $50. read more

From the moment you step inside, you instantly feel at ease. Golden Hour is a beautiful space with even more beautiful souls working there. I stopped by last week for a chair session and had the pleasure of meeting Janice. This was my first time doing acupuncture and it definitely won't be my last. Janice was warm and knowledgeable and made sure that I was comfortable the entire time. The session flew by and I walked out leaving so relaxed. I went back a few days later for a private session that included massage and cupping, which I definitely recommend for those of you who haven't tried it. Golden Hour has such a positive and peaceful vibe, you should make time in your week to stop by. read more

Golden Hour combines the relaxing effects of acupuncture, cupping, and massage with a clean, modern, and inspiring environment that gave my mindset a much needed boost. I am new to acupuncture and his was a wonderful introduction. One treatment was enough to convince me to make Golden Hour apart of my routine. Since then I haven't stopped preaching about my experience to all my friends. In short, go and treat yourself, better yet make an appointment for a friend and treat someone else! read more

This place is such a gem. Of course for the new year as with every new year, I pledged to spend more time on self care and making it a point to unplug. I want options, acupuncture, massage, Chinese medicine, etc. But I don't want to pay outrageous prices. This place is a peaceful and quiet oasis on a busy city street near the burnside bridge. There may even be a bar next door. But once you enter, you feel a world away from the lures of city life. The place is simple and classy. I chose a 45 minute unplug chair treatment. You enter a cool shared room with lovely recliners, choose your spot, lay back and zone out. Aromatherapy is wafting in the air and a lovely oil is applied to your neck with a brief temple and neck massage. Then you get about 8 acupuncture needles in key pressure points, a lovely warm neck wrap, eye mask and you just zone out for about 25 minutes. Then the needles come out and it's followed by a brief neck, arm and shoulder massage. I wanted a bit more massage but this is a $35 treatment and it's so important and relaxing to just lay back in a chair and zone out. I never do that at home. On the way out you are treated with a warm towel and lovely tea. There is a small shop with high quality oils, soaps, and things that go with Chinese medicine. I bought a gua sha tool, google it. Next time i will book a full massage. This spot is a true treat if you need to unwind and who doesn't? I'll be back. read more

Welp, found my official self care spot. I had an unplug chair treatment earlier today and ended up so relaxed that I came home and took a 5 hour nap (slumber? You be the judge). Sara gave a quick consultation before starting and knew exactly how to ease my carpal tunnel flare up and anxiety. They gave me a short neck and shoulder massage with the perfect amount of pressure. Needles went in, I got a weighted eye mask, and chilled for 25-30 minutes. Afterwards, the needles came out and I got another short but amazing arm and wrist massage. The whole experience was wellllll worth the price. I see another visit in the near future! read more

I had the basic chair acupuncture session and the person who helped me was really great at communicating and massaging. She also suggested a naturopath and wrote down some stuff she think would be good for my arthritis. The space is very clean and beautiful design as well. Also their tea is very good that they gave me afterward. read more

Just came here for my first time, never having done acupuncture before! I was a little nervous but my acupuncturist was sweet and made everything so easy. I had the unplug chair treatment and with my sore neck, the mini massage was so needed. The waiting area is also really zen and they have really yummy tea! I'll definitely be back. read more

Relatively new and super relaxing, high quality "spa" for acupuncture. The practitioners here are first-rate and I can say that without hesitation, not being a big fan of needles. They have different treatments and I have tried the de-stress one a couple of times. Feel great afterwards. Jerry Z. read more

Beautiful space, and an ambiance dedicated to relaxation. If you're freaked out by acupuncture or have never done it before, this is a wonderful way to be introduced. The mini massage, tea, eye pillow, aromatherapy- these are all small ways to create ritual in healing environments which are so often left out. I'm really grateful for the cost too, which makes drop in basic treatments really available to a whole range of income brackets. read more

So glad we made appointments during our brief stay in Portland! DH and I scheduled the Unplug treatment with Liana...very relaxing and although it was our first experience with acupuncture, we felt totally at ease and even fell asleep during the session. Loved the firm pressure on my neck and shoulder area, and the wrap up with hand and forearm massage. The palm muscle between my thumb and index finder, (which is usually in a knot!) relaxed for the first time in a very long time, and we both felt rejuvenated after the treatment. read more

I just had the most amazing acupuncture experience at Golden Hour!! So clean, relaxing and healing. Best $35 i've seriously ever spent!! Will be back :) read more

Thoroughly enjoyed my chair session at Golden Hour. The acupuncturist took time to speak with me and my husband individually about what had brought us in, our likes/dislikes/allergies/sensitivities and how our bodies were feeling that day. Then, because we were new to acupuncture, she walked us through what she would do and why, which we really appreciated. It was a lovely and relaxing experience overall. What's more, we both felt the positive effects for a few weeks after. we will definitely be back. read more

Love the space and staff here so much. Professional, beautiful and totally welcoming. You can tell the team is filled with healers and years of experience and are really doing what they love. Trying to get in every week! read more

Golden Hour is a beautifully thought out and executed acupuncture spa -- the setting is serene and relaxing, the practitioners are very good, and the session rates are very reasonable. I love Golden Hour! read more

Finally! Affordable Acupuncture in central Portland. Feels like a high end spa, but the chair treatments are reasonably priced, and feel more personal than group sessions at other places. I've had the private session as well, which was real #treatyoself kind of time. I've been three times now, Its my new needle home. The staff is warm and relaxed, the space is beautiful. It's unique and lovely and I can't recommend enough. read more

Truly wonderful experience from the moment you step into Golden Hour. If you appreciate design and serenity then this is the place to go for some R&R. I booked in for a private session which included massage, cupping and acupuncture, I then went back a week later for a chair session. Both were extremely relaxing and good value. They also gave me the documents needed to see if I could claim this expense back from my insurance. I also loved their beautifully curated selection of beauty products and teas. I purchased a hair oil and a face cream for my holidays and love them both. I'll definitely be going back and it's a great place to go with a friend for a chair session together. read more

When I walked into Golden Hour, I knew I was in for something very special. Two steps in and I was already calmed by the peaceful ambience and pristine soothing decor. How quickly I had forgotten about my busy life outside the door. The massages I tried were both excellent and I really recommend the Amma if you're feeling particularly stressed. I felt it was very personal and thorough, not rushed or disconnected the way some massages can feel. I can't wait to return for a chair treatment as soon as possible. read more
