I'm a Beach Hill Smokehouse regular so trust me, Golden Horseshoe Barbecue is just as good maybe even better. Beach Hill to me seems more hit and miss as they are expanding by franchising. Golden Horseshoe's pit master is onsite and he seems to care. Beach Hill is salter and fattier hence juicier. Golden Horseshoe gives complementary pickles, pickled onions and beef tallow bread. Sausage is what stands out. On street parking is the problem, we parked 2 blocks away. Service was top notch.

Had an ultimate meat nirvana experience at Golden Horseshoe. Wanted to try once they announced two specials! Smoked Pastrami Brisket( I picked fatty instead of lean) - texture, quality & thickness was just done right. It was a heaven in my mouth once assembled with mustard, pickled cukes & onion on a piece of rye bread. Char Siu Pork Belly Burnt Ends. The best Char Siu glaze I have ever had. Not overly sweet and nice hint of hoisin sauce. It was a perfect match with smoked belly. If you are a pickles lover, get more pickles!!! They are excellent! Thanks for the special memu!

When we heard there was a new barbecue joint supposedly offering up authentic Texas BBQ, it was just a matter of time before we showed up to eat some meat. We arrived a few minutes after they opened on a recent Saturday and the place already had a fairly significant lineup, to the point where it took a full half hour to order and get our food. I'd say it was worth the wait, though. We decided to share a platter with brisket, sausage, beans, and coleslaw. While I can't say any of the items knocked my socks off, everything was very well prepared and quite tasty. The lack of smoke in the brisket was a disappointment, however, although it wasn't a surprise. I've never managed to find a place in the GTA that sells the kind of deeply smoky barbecue they do in the southern United States. Still, the brisket was super tender and the sausage was packed with flavor. The beans and slaw were decent but nothing to write home about, ultimately. The ribs looked phenomenal, so I assume we'll be returning at some point to try those.

The place has a line up from open to close. We were there at 1230 and they ran out of smoked chicken. We ordered the ribs and pork belly. It was very good, service mess excellent. The corn salad has a little bit of a kick. It's wasn't bbq gasm, but it was darn good and worth returning to.

Best bbq in the city! Been going to Beach Hill throughout the years and I'm always impressed by the…read morequality and tastiness of their meats. My favourite is the burnt ends, which has a sweet smoky taste to them. But other offerings are great too, from the really tender brisket, to the glistening pork belly, the creamy potato salad, and a peach cobbler that grandma would approve. If you're in the mood for a no-frills-all-thrills texas bbq, Beach Hill is then place to go.

Really disappointing experience…read more I placed a $200+ Uber Eats order for myself and guests on a Friday night, expecting a reliable dinner from a BBQ restaurant. Instead, I waited over an hour with no update. When I finally called the restaurant to check on the order, I was casually told that it had been cancelled because they ran out of food. The problem is that no one bothered to notify me. No message in the app, no call -- nothing. I was simply left waiting for over an hour for an order they apparently already knew they couldn't fulfill. What made it worse was the attitude on the phone. The person I spoke with was rude and dismissive, with no apology or attempt to make the situation right. Now I'm told the refund could take up to 10 business days to return to my credit card. Running out of food happens. Ignoring a $200+ order for over an hour on a Friday night and then being rude to the customer is unacceptable. Plenty of better BBQ options in the city -- I won't be ordering from here again.

All the food is tapas style so be prepared to spend a pretty penny to be full! We started out the night with some cornbread du jour on the house. Little mouthfuls of soft cornbread seasoned with herbs was a good start. The tartar was one of the better dishes with great seasoning and the chips held up surprisingly well. The brisket was a nice, tender meat with a good meat to fat ratio. I can see the effort placed into this dish. Unfortunately, even though the fish had a delightful crisp skin it was a little dry and lacking in flavour. The smoked cauliflower was the most disappointing. It tasted more like raw cauliflower than anything else. Not sure where I was suppose to find the smoked flavour but it was the weakest of all the dishes. Will probably be back to try out their cocktails but not again for dinner.

I can only comment on the first floor as I didn't see the upstairs. The inside is functional enough, the furniture nothing fancy, but there are nice little touches of decoration here and there: framed art and mirrors on the one wall, old black-and-white photos hanging clothespinned from strings on the other, a chalkboard which that day bore a quote from Hunter S. Thompson. There is a standing area with a counter set in the wall opposite the main bar, so looks like they anticipate the placing becoming quite busy as an after work spot. There is a nice selection of bourbon and scotch available, as well as some tequila and other spirits. Ten taps for draught, which look like they will likely be rotating, and included some ordinary lagers and also more crafty IPAs when I visited. There is a selection of options on the menu besides beef and pork, including a variety of seafood. I got the brisket and was rather unpleasantly surprised to see it come as only 3 small slices with a few ramekins of sauce, given that it was $19, which seems mighty pricey to me. It was delicious if not a little on the fatty side. The sauces were just ok - one so spicy you can't taste anything, and the chimichurri was pretty oily. Can't fully judge as it just opened, but I hope the place is a success and other items on the menu are a little more value for the money - otherwise this would just be an ok place to stop in after work for beers.
