Very clean, punctual and pet friendly (must be in a carrier) with very hard working and kind staff, this is the only way I travel into the city nowadays.

This lady tried yanking out my charging cable to use for herself. Typical Marin folk

Convenient parking for the ferry. Watch out for charger cable thieves. Had a lady try and yank a charging cable out of my car and other cars around me charging

I have taken the ferry several times around the Bay and this was my first time from this location. It worked out great to take it to SF. They have plenty of parking and the waiting area is clean. The scenery on a slightly misty day was stunning as we could see all the bridges and islands along the way. The ferries themselves were clean and the staff were friendly. Two thumbs up, sure beats driving!

An amazing way to get to San Francisco without the hassle of bridges, traffic and insane parking prices. Well run and staffed transportation hub and ships, they are safe clean and well appointed. Beautiful views of the area as well as the Golden Gate, San Quentin and the financial district. May never drive over the bridge again.

How to Avoid the Clipper Card Minefield…read more Using a Clipper Card is a great way to travel, but you first have to understand their intuitive rules. I bought 2 clipper cards at the the Windsor Smart Train station for my wife and I last year and took the train from Windsor to the Larkfield ferry. Unfortunately you can't buy a senior card at the train kiosk so you have have to pay the full price with no discount. To get a senior card you have to buy it online and wait a few weeks to receive it in the mail. A few months ago, I had about $10 remaining on each card and my wife and I decided to take the Larkfield ferry to S. F. the next day. I went online to check my balance and there was no cash available. So I called the number and I was told " we are experiencing long hold times and there are 38 folks ahead of me". And they mentioned to go online to use self service. I went online and there was no self service options. The online site is useless. Finally I spoke to the rep and was informed that since I didn't use the card for 6 months there was no cash value on the card, but she would add the previous balance back onto the card, and this would take a few days. So, I added $20 to each card online using my Visa card. Unbeknownst to me it takes over a week to add this cash value to the Clipper Card, even though they they charged my Visa immediately. When I got to the Smart Train station there was no cash value on the card so I had to add $20 more to the cards. This really upset me. I had to call the Clipper Card office 5 more times and wait between 14 and 41 calls ahead of me to finally get a promise that they will send me a check. I have been waiting for 2 weeks to get the check and called again only to find out it takes about 1 month to get the check. I'm still waiting. It seems very clear to me that Clipper Card grabs your money immediately and will try anyway it can to keep it. If you want to avoid some of the money pitfalls and phone calls of using a Clipper Card: 1. Purchase your card online 1 month before you intend to use it. 2. Add value to your card at the train or ferry kiosk only for the amount you intend to use that day. 3. Use the cash value quickly.

Hardest part of the trip is walking from the train to the ferry. Otherwise an amazing trip. What I was most impressed with about the ferry other than the views was its on time schedule. Both Saturday and Sunday the ferry arrived right on schedule and left right on schedule. Super impressed.

tl;dr: Service has good aspects (drivers, manager) and bad aspects (Dispatch)…read more I needed transportation from Marin to SFO at 5AM. Taxi services weren't running at that hour for transit to the San Rafael Transit Center to catch the Marin Airporter. ## Good Experience Luckily, I asked around and Marin Door to Door was presented to me as an alternative. I booked their service the day before my flight and it went flawlessly: I was picked up at my apartment, a couple other patrons were picked up and made great time to the airport. The van was clean and the driver was safe as well as personable. ## Bad Experience A week later, impressed with the previous experience and ease of use, I booked transport from SFO back to Marin the day before my arrival. Unfortunately, it fell apart from there: I walked to the van, the driver assisted me with my bag as I got in the vehicle and he finished his conversation with Dispatch. As the driver described, we'd have to wait for another passenger who's flight was still enroute to SFO due to an issue with another driver's van. Dispatch called me soon after the driver's conversation concluded and I was filled in. I expressed that I did not expect this wait (40min for plane to land, 10min to get the van) to be so lengthy and that I would like to simply get a refund and board the Marin Airporter seeing as how it will take less time. I was denied a refund and yet continued to make my case that this is merely a one-off issue with their service, that I understood but would still like to avoid explore a different option. Continued denial; I went off to the Airporter regardless. I called once again requesting a refund and to express my displeasure with such repeated denial in a clearly innocuous situation. In return Dispatch berated retorts such as I was told of a 5-40min possible waiting limit [I was not told this, but it makes sense in the long run... still, should have been told to me or at least somewhere on their website (quick glance, couldn't find it)], the customer to be waited for was a regular, and upon me mentioning what the driver explained to me as the situation regarding the other driver, that I was misinformed (which if I was, is more concerning considering now a driver is lying to me) which ended up not being the case. I hung up, not pleased. I spoke to a manager on Monday. She heard my plight, spoke with the driver and Dispatch and the next day called back, apologized, reiterated the possible waiting time which was not explained to me before and issued a refund. Honestly, the manager was the best part of this whole ordeal. She was calm and put me at ease regarding the situation. ## Conclusion Overall, Marin Door to Door is something I would have used frequently or possibly exclusively. Instead, in an effort to avoid any further displeasure with their service, I will put up with minor hassle of needing cash and the minor timing inconvenience of the Marin Airporter and use Marin Door To Door for those seldom weird-hour flights.

THEIR LICENSE TO BE ON SFO PREMISES IS REVOKED AS OF 10/10/18!…read more I KNEW something wasn't quite right. They've been making my airport pickups more and more difficult the last couple of times I have used them. When you ask they say things like: "SFO is making some changes" and "Due to construction..." VERY evasive and VERY sketch answers. They had two opportunities to be straight with me and they chose not to so I called SFO to get my answers. I just spoke to someone who manages these contracts. He told me they were officially terminated on 10/10/18! They have issues with the CPUC and also the FTB. Nice try...next time don't be so evasive.
