Took the Airporter for a United flight out of Terminal 3. I told the driver when I got on that I was flying United from Terminal 3 and handed him my bag. I sat in the back while we stopped at Terminal 1 and 2, but then the driver drove right past Terminal 3 toward International. When I asked about Terminal 3, he told me it was my fault that he only stops at Terminal 2 due to construction and basically said it was my problem. For not hearing him. When we got to the International Terminal, I asked for my bag so I could get back to Terminal 3, and that's when he realized he'd actually left it on the curb at Terminal 2. We had to go back, and luckily the bag was still sitting there. For a $30 ride, this was not the experience I expected. If they are not stopping at a terminal just need to be very clear in the announcements and on their app/website. read more

I've used this service for years, and drivers are always courteous, but when I had difficulty purchasing a ticket online through a needlessly complicated process, I called their office for help. The manager told me with a straight face that he had "never" had a call from anyone having difficulty purchasing a ticket online. This is obviously not true, and moreover it is gaslighting the customer by suggesting they are the only person ever to have a problem with the process. It's clear their management has no customer training, and is willing to say anything. If all goes well, OK, but goodness help you if something goes wrong. It runs often, the schedule is pretty accurate, and it spares friends/family from the annoyance of driving to the airport. The bus I rode number 131 had the worst suspension imaginable. My arm was bruised by the old bus' arm rest. The bus rattled so much that I nearly broke a tooth. It was an unpleasant and noisy ride home after a long trip. The price keeps going up - $31 one way. The driver's/driving capability was excellent. The bus is reliable but was late at SFO. After sharing my experience with Marin Airporter, the return call was impolite stating that no one else on the bus complained. They did not sit in the same seat near the back tire (I moved after the incident) and I was not making the story up. (Why I am making a Yelp review) Another note, possibly irrelevant, I was returning from a trip to Mexico City where multiple long and short bus rides were significantly better experiences - newer, cleaner, more comfortable rides... I'll start by saying I've taken many airport (bus) transfers so my expectation is realistic and this is passenger advice more than feedback for the company. When you board, the driver may load your luggage and ask your destination. Normally, this interaction would result in the driver actually stopping at the destination he or she asked about. -This is not the case. Turns out you'll need to be familiar enough with the route and stops so you can do whatever is necessary to again alert the driver to actually make the stop you want. Stand up, wave your arms, make lots of noise I guess..? In our case, we assumed the driver would take the information given when we boarded and deliver us to our intended destination. -He blew right past it and at the next stop, we were told it was our fault; zero customer service. -Weird and disappointing. :-/ read more

They pick up both in Marin and at SFO on a specific schedule so be prepared to wait esp returning from SFO. Also factor in traffic going to SFO. If you can work around that it's a good way to get to the airport! read more

Just had the worst experience today. I've been using Marin Airporter for about seven years now. I parked at Hamilton in Novato, we get to Hamilton only to find out there no way to pay for parking. Another fine day of no driver showing up for 20 minutes and then upset with the passengers for his lateness. The Airporter always has an excuse especially at SFO why they are late. Strange, the Airport Express Bus always seems to be on schedule! I think they are owned by the same company. I've been riding the Marin Airporter almost every week for the past 5 years, the service has never gotten any better. I'm not certain why they also stop at Seminary Drive and then only 1/4 Mike away at Manzanita? Seems like another waste of time. What can I say about getting to SFO from Novato for $21 and no hassles?? We hop on at Hamilton and hop off at our airline curb. The drivers help with your luggage. I can't think of a better way of getting to the airport. The best part about it is that you can sleep the entire way down and not feel exhausted from driving, parking, dropping off luggage and trying to find your traveling partner again! There's a very funny bus driver as well. He's a great guy who tells some jokes and makes the whole ride bearable. I will never drive my car to the airport again. A+++++ read more

Tired from a long day of travel and just want to get home? Or do you need a swift form of transportation from the airport so you can get home and prepare for work in the evening?... *raises hand*. Then AVOID the Marin Airporter!! Took this airporter from SFO to San Rafael on Halloween 2017. First, the bus arrived at SFO fifteen minutes late. Second, the bus driver gave the wrong bag to someone who disembarked at Manzanita. He turned us around on the highway 101 in Corte Madera to drive all the way back to Manzanita to swap the bag. There were twenty passengers on the bus, and we were robbed 30 minutes of our time because the bus driver screwed up and gave the wrong person the wrong bag. I've taken this bus multiple times, and would not post a review like this if it wasn't a consistent issue... but the bus is CONSISTENTLY 15-30 minutes late at SFO, and the blatant disregard for passenger's time really shows where the priorities are. Once they have us on the bus, they have our money, and we are a captured audience to the actions of the driver. To top it off, the bus driver was EXTREMELY rude and unapologetic. read more

At 9:06am at Terminal 3, I was getting onto an Airporter bus when the driver said he was not going to Hamilton Novato. The driver told me to wait for the next bus only 10 or 15 minutes later. But it did not arrive until 9:56 am. As such, I am freezing cold having waited outside since 8:45am. I can clearly see there was absolutely no traffic today, so why is the Marin Airporter reducing the frequency of bus service without notifying customers either online or in-person. I will never listen to the drivers again and warn my coworkers and friends / neighbors to avoid your shoddy service. It is ridiculous that we can travel 1000 miles in 2 hours, but I wait an hour and 15 minutes just to get on an airporter for Novato. read more

I've been taking the Airporter for years and have been happy with the service. However, the recent route changes completely screw anyone going to and from Novato. Taking the Airporter no longer makes any sense if you live in Northern Marin. On my last trip home from SFO, the ride took 2.5 hours. Why? Well, the new Airporter hub is on Anderson in San Rafael. Rather than simply exiting at Bellam and heading to Anderson, the Airporter powers that be have decided to have the bus make a stop near the ferry in Larkspur, then go all the way around past San Quentin to Anderson. Not smart. That puts this bus into the worst traffic in all of Marin. If you are entering Marin anytime between 3-7pm, you will be waiting in stopped traffic through Larkspur for an hour, at least. I have no idea why this decision was made, but it's a nail in the coffin for anyone going to/from Northern Marin. The Airporter's service has always prioritized customers in Southern Marin over those in Northern Marin. Having stops at both Strawberry and Manzanita is ridiculous, since they're so near each other, but ultimately didn't cost customers too much travel time. However, this new Larkspur-Anderson double whammy is just unbearable. I started asking around to friends who travel for work frequently, and those that are still taking the Airporter to/from Novato say they're getting off in Southern Marin and taking cabs to Novato from there, saving themselves up to an hour on the bus. Others have given up on the Airporter entirely and are taking the Sonoma bus, since apparently going all the way to Petaluma and having someone pick them up there is faster than taking the Airporter. Airporter management, you need to reevaluate your routes! Have you ridden your bus lately? Do you know how terrible the customer experience has become since the Anderson hub opened? It is definitely time to make some changes. Eliminate the Larkspur stop. Mill Valley only needs one Airporter stop. These two changes alone could save passengers an hour of travel time or more, and get people in Northern and Central Marin back on your bus. read more

I really have to share my sympathy for a driver during commute time at SFO on a Friday night. Our driver pulled up and at full speed loaded and seated fellow passengers and myself with plenty of apologies. Already 40 minutes late, sweating, and having missed his own personal break, I was of no mind to criticize the poor gent's tardiness. He was doing the best he could with the crazy traffic out on the road. Luckily, the ride was air conditioned and the seats comfy. I already knew it stopped at several conjested locations before it reached the Hamilton Station. I expected the ride to take time. Mustering up my reserve of patience after a 10 hour flight was all I could do. The driver got us to our station as quickly and safely as possible. For that, kudos all around. read more

Recently took a trip overseas with two medium size suitcases. When I arrived at Hamilton 30 minutes before departure the driver was already there which was nice. Another passenger arrived and started smoking a cigarette, the driver got out, an overweight gentleman in his late 50s early 60s. He walked up to the other passenger and said "can I bum a smoke"? Which he did and proceeded to smoke close to the open door of the bus. I don't care if the driver is smoking but really near an open bus door? When it came time to board the bus he asked me which airline and I told him. He then said "well what are you waiting for, load your cases"!!! I was like what!? The driver would not load my cases on the bus! His name was Dallas as his name tag showed as such. I said to him your supposed to load them! I have been taking Marin Airporter for 25 years! You always load the cases and plus I don't know which compartment they are assigned to etc. He reluctantly took my cases and threw them in the under carriage compartment! I am filing an official complaint though I am guessing it won't get me anywhere. This driver should face disciplinary action or be terminated. That's not the Marin Airporter I am used to!!! read more

I've used the Marin Airporter well over 50 times now, they've always been great heading to the airport, you can count on them leaving at their posted times. My few complaints that dropped them to a 4 star. It's pretty easy today with technology to allow the sale of tickets on your website. I would like to purchase my ticket ahead of time, but it's not even an option. In south Marin the number of stops gets a bit annoying, especially when they are off consecutive freeway exits. Those two points would never make me avoid the airporter as it is easy to catch in novato, but they are always on my mind when comparing the Airport Express bus and the Airporter. read more

Convenient when you don't want to deal with parking at the airport. $21 each way (less if you are going to other stops in Marin). The airporter is on time when picking you up in Novato, but the wait time at SFO on the way back can vary. Be prepared to wait just in case. read more

If you are in the North Bay and taking a solo trip that is more than three days through SFO than Marin Airporter is a good deal. $23 single way from Novato plus $4 per day parking easily beats $25 per day long term parking at SFO. Busses are never full and on time. read more

Class act. We were afraid of missing the last bus after our flight was delayed several hours and the supervisor really worked with us. We called when we landed and he told us he'd get an extra 12 minutes or so and even had the driver looking for us. He was willing to help us get my car out of the lot if we missed the bus & arrived after hours. read more

I had no issues here. Easy and quick rides to SFO and back. Drivers were pleasant enough. Try to avoid having to use their service during commute times! I apparently lucked into good travel times, looking at previous reviews, and I recommend the 3:55am ride to SFO and coming back anytime between 7 and 10pm. I got up at 3am, packed, and then power walked me and my suitcase down to the San Rafael transit center in order to catch the 4:10am bus to SFO on time. Huffing and puffing and very sleep deprived, I arrived at 4:08 just in time to see the taillights of the thing as it rolled onto the freeway onramp several hundred feet away. I have used the airporter since late 2013 over 6 times and I had no complaints. I recently used it (had not since they moved their main office). I can say that now it takes too long to get to airport due to all of the stops (their new office is out of the way now). They need to delete 2-3 stops! - especially Larkspur. Coming back from the airport it took 2 hours to get to Hamilton. It is crazy to stop in Larkspur and then get caught in all of the Richmond bridge traffic getting to their new Larkspur office. I've heard others complain about how long it now takes now and that they should eliminate 2-3 of their current stops. I hope management listens! read more

Being a long time resident of Marin, I have definitely gathered my opinions about my very favorite businesses in the county.Marin Airporter has always ranked as one of the best that I know. Extremely convenient, unbelievely reasonable, courteous employees, reliable.-dream company. unbeknownst to most , when travel was virtually non-existent after 9/11., the company's owner kept all of the employees working. However, my sister and I had a unconscionable experience returning last week from New Orleans. Because the airports were closed en route due to weather, we landed at San Francisco Airport at 1:45AM. The last Marin Airporter bus leaves the airport at midnight , which we knew. After paying $170.00 for a taxi to Marin airporter to pick up our car, we were extremely surprised to find out that we could not get our car out of the locked gate. It was 245am. Unlike other companies with pay as you go parking lots, when you return on the Marin Airporter bus , the driver sells you a token to release your car. Since our airport delays forced us to miss the last bus, we had no token.NOWHERE is this explained at the parking lot. Two women standing alone with a dead cell phone in the rain at 3:00am was not a good thing. When i contacted the manager-Mitch-the next day , he was totally uninterested in resolving this problem by putting a sign at the entrance of the parking lot.!!! So riders, beware!! you too may be stuck!! read more

The Marin Airporter is typically on schedule from Marin to SFO, but from SFO to Marin it almost never follows the claimed schedule (departure at the top and bottom of the hour). After a dozen trips over the past 2 years, it's fair for me to say the posted times are a joke. Regardless of when you land, head straight to the waiting area and wear a jacket - you could be there from 5 to 45 mins. Otherwise, the service is fine - the bus is nice and the drivers generally professional. read more

The airport shuttle service is fine. It runs on time; the drivers are helpful and friendly. But I absolutely do not recommend it unless you have someone to drop you off and pick you up; the Hamilton terminal parking is not safe. Someone broke into my car and another one this weekend. The driver who was there for the next run seemed appalled but couldn't really do much. The company takes no responsibility. They have no security or cameras, and no onsite staff. I had to wait there for the police for 45 min, at night, alone after the bus left. I will use Sonoma Airport Express in the future. They have a lighted, staffed waiting area and security. I have been using the Marin Airporter for many years. As a single traveler, it is very reassuring to know that the bus will leave up on time and arrive at the airport on time. Traveling in the bus is a very comfortable experience. The drivers are always helpful and personable. The buses are clean and spacious. My last trip which was 2 weeks ago was very good. The ride home was perfect and Don the driver was incredibly helpful. I was the last person to get off at Hamilton. My car was waiting for me. It was after 10 PM. Don helped with my luggage and walked me to my car. He used the token to open the gate and made sure that I got on my way safely. A HUGE thank you !!! read more
