We love this place. We live only a few minutes away and have eaten here probably once a month for the last year we have lived here. They have great food and good service. Fairly quick as well! I get the teriyaki chicken on a stick and fried rice with no veggies. My husband likes the sweet and sour chicken. Always good and flavorful! read more

For this area this place is ok. I ordered lunch - Mongolian beef since I had it to go one and was good, this time beef was very chewy so I asked the lady to exchange for chicken which was better. Lady at front counter never smiled one bit which would have made the atmosphere of this place a little more welcoming if she logged happy to see me. The egg roll I received resembles the spring rolls that are at other Chinese places, they tend to be a little greasy. Over all this is an ok place to eat at for a quick Chinese meal. My favorite place used to be Lee Garden in Trussville until they closed down to give you an idea of what in comparing this place to. read more

The fine folks at the Golden Gate Chinese Restaurant serve the best Chinese food in the Leeds / Moody area. The staff staff is always friendly and the service is great ! The food is always fresh and delicious. I am not a fan of the local Chinese buffets in our area. It is obvious that they are more interested in quantity of food served rather than quality of the food. Fantastic fresh food. This is not Chinese buffet food. This is high quality high flavor food on par with much fancier restaurants at buffet prices. Highly recommend house fried rice, house rice noodles, po po platter for two, dumplings, hot and sour soup, and Chinese donuts. Always warm and friendly the owners open their hearts and welcome you. Tasted like reheated egg rolls, same with the won ton strips for the soup. Looked like they had been re fried. I didn't think you could ruin fried rice but the vegetables looked freezer burnt, almost white peas and carrots. The food is standard fare for this type of establishment. The buffet is small, but decent for the size, as fresh food was still being added even towards the close of business hours. The restaurant is tiny with only four or five tables, so it's cozy until a screaming child is at another table. The kitchen staff was super-friendly, but the cashier must have been having a bad night. The cost was average-or-better for the buffet, as the total ran about $21 for two adults and one child...and that includes drinks for all three. Overall I was very satisfied, and look forward to ordering takeout from them very soon. read more
