That right there says a lot about the outstanding, inaugural program. We can't thank Alamo Karate Academy and staff enough for seeing the need for both parents and children, and putting in the dedication, time, and hard work to make it happen. We were all truely blessed. All the interaction with other kids and adults forged positive, new and lasting relationships. Karate instruction lead to the first belt testing of the dojo, along with other fun activities and games. Just an outstanding program, professionally administered and managed. Well done and a great thank you to Alamo Karate Academy and staff.

Even when there is a full class or a spread in experience among people in the class we receive a great deal of personal attention from Sifu Rick and the other instructors. It is a very supportive environment that still treats you as an independent adult and encourages you to push yourself to new levels of physical fitness and skill in whatever form you are working to learn at the moment. The sense of welcome among the existing students and positive environment also make it a place we look forward to going several times a week. If you like a very structured program, the progression for the belts and levels is well laid out and there is a lot of history and background of the styles worked into the classes. The instructors are also open to questions and are great about discussing and demonstrating practical applications of the katas and forms you learn at each level. While we do not have any children ourselves, we have also been impressed by what we have seen of the children classes and the instructors' ability to move from teaching the children to teaching the adult classes. The school offers regular classes in both Kung Fu and Tai Chi, spread over both evenings, afternoons, and weekends, which has made it easy to fit in our schedule. It has also been incredibly affordable and the school is very transparent about where the costs exist for both monthly fees, testing costs, and equipment. We look forward to progressing into the weapon katas and more advanced forms and would highly recommend this school for anyone looking to increase their physical fitness, work on their health and general well being, or just learn something new!

Sifu Rick is a talented teacher and a practitioner, and cares a lot about his students and their progress as martial artists. I highly recommend the school, and the art, to everyone - it's great for your body and your mind, whether you are 7, 70, or anywhere in between.

Helotes CrossFit at it's foundation is a team. A team that must rely on each other and support each…read moreother in order to be successful. HCF approaches every workout this way, and it gave me the motivation to get back into fitness in February 2016. I say "team" because just like a more traditional team, everyone in the gym is in it together as one unit. Instead of working out individually, we are all pushing ourselves and each other through the same workout and toward the same goal. That being said, each athlete is unique and has their own talents and strengths, as well as weaknesses, so when someone is struggling through something, everyone else comes around and encourages them until they complete it. The mindset through every workout is "we're not done until we're all done" and it builds and incredible sense of camaraderie that I have missed. Competing as a synchronized swimmer for twelve years, I learned to value and rely on my teammates. I learned that to be successful I had to be selfless and put the success of the team ahead of my own. It took hard work and dedication, and I have found that same drive again at HCF. It doesn't matter how fast or slow you are, it doesn't matter what weight you put on the bar, it doesn't matter if you collapse in a sweaty heap after the workout. What matters are the people next to you. What matters is that you go all out and do your best every day and support those around you, because they will be the same ones who support you when you need it. Here at HCF: Together Every Athlete Matters

I was told equipment will be provided then the day before the class i find out that i actually need to buy it all myself because it's "not guaranteed." Not what i was told at the beginning but okay (i have texts to prove it too). It seems like whoever is in charge of responding to peoples questions and concerns doesn't really care if you're not apart of the gym already. Not sure if that's what's going on for sure, just how it feels after being ignored and getting a lackluster or no response at all. THAT'S NOT EVEN THE WORST PART. I'm a total beginner. I have made that very clear from the beginning and i think i have asked which Muay Thai class is the beginner class (because you guys have 3-4 of them at different times) because obviously I dont want to go into an intermediate class when, again, I'm a beginner. You think you'd want to answer this question relatively fast so someone doesn't get hurt but i guess thats not the case here. I thought i found a good gym and one that was close to the house but i guess it's back to finding a new gym.

**5-Star Review for Peacekeeper Martial Arts**…read more Peacekeeper Martial Arts is more than just a place to learn how to kick or punch--it's a transformational experience for children. What makes this program truly stand out is its powerful blend of martial arts training and biblical philosophy. The instructors go beyond physical techniques; they instill *self-discipline, confidence, respect, and moral values* grounded in Scripture. From the moment your child steps onto the mat, they are taught not only how to defend themselves but also how to walk in strength and integrity. Every lesson includes life skills and principles rooted in biblical truth--reminding students of their purpose, identity, and the importance of character. Children at Peacekeeper gain a solid foundation in self-defense while learning life lessons that will carry them far beyond the dojo. This is a place where kids grow spiritually, emotionally, and physically in a safe and uplifting environment.
