Went in with the kids tonight. Had almond chicken dinner, sweet and sour dinner, sesame dinner with chicken fried rice and shrimp fried rice. Also came with egg rolls and wonton soup. Egg rolls were so fresh and crispy. Soup flavor was phenomenal. (And I'm picky about my wonton soup) All the chicken for the dinners were fresh and crispy even with the sauce on it. Customer Service was great. Had a young gentleman who was on top of everything and I mean everything. Didn't have to flag him down or look for him. Refills for drinks, boxes, picking up empty dishes. He was on it. We really appreciate good customer service and attentiveness and he did just that. read more

I ordered sesame chicken, hot and sour soup. I took one bit of the soup and one bit of the chicken. Both were horrible. I threw all of it away. Hoping I don't get sick tonight. read more

Great staff in good food. Probably the best Chinese food in this area. The meat dishes are good so is the egg foo Young.

Food was terrible. Soft and mushy like yesterday left over. Wontons smaller and so are the eggrolls. Place is dirty and dingy read more

Best food around awesome waitstaff. Clean fresh ingredients. I eat here often and guarantee you will enjoy. Egg rolls, soups, sweet sour chicken, orange chicken, crab Rangoon all are fantastic read more

Friday night and carry outs were the main focus. Called in order and said 1hr 25min until ready.arrived to find 10 people waiting for their orders. Waited another 10 minutes. Wife said almond chicken was good. I ordered Seafood Kow. What I got was lots of broccoli and 3 shrimp There was supposed to be lobster and Krab. None to be found in the dish. Very disappointed. Never again read more

Food wasn't good. Waited 45 minutes for take out Crab ragoon was cold. Chicken chop sue wasn't good read more

Ordered takeout from here and had a positive experience. The only negative was the time to pick up and the egg role sauce. We were quoted 35 minutes and it took an hour to get our food. The sauce was pure vinegar in taste - yuck. Overall, we would try again if we are in the mood for Chinese in the Oxford area. read more

entry smelled disgusting. food sub par. cleanliness VERY sub par. staff was borderline rude and made some pretty snarky remarks to customers. I won't return read more

The only good part about this restaurant at this point is that it is fast and thr staff is nice. The fried rice was old, dark brown and dried out. There were Lard boxes thrown outside the door people enter. Come on Golden Dragon, I know you can do better than this. You used to be my favorite chinese restaurant. Start keeping the rice fresh and don't leave boxes thrown about. Appearance matters. If you are going to charge almost 15 dollars for a combo, I want it to taste good. read more

It is Chinese "comfort food"! This establishment has been in Oxford for a very long time, so it MUST be doing something right. The food is consistently good. The carry out system is relatively efficient and accurate. Nice to know we have a Chinese staple in downtown Oxford that doesn't disappoint! read more

What a shame. Had to throw away because it was actually inedible. Very mushy, sad, soggy heavily breaded chicken surrounded in a goopy, bland, thick brown murky, gloppy sauce. Was supposed to be Hunan Chicken. The Hunan Chicken at other restaurants have a delicious savory sauce with lots of fresh vegetables. This was the exact opposite. read more

This review is based on my only visit to pick up our traditional Christmas eve Chinese dinner (take out). From my experience over some 20+ years of picking up a large take out order to feed as many as 6-8 people, Christmas eve has to be the busiest night of the year from many Chinese restaurants and our visit on 12/24/2020 was no exception. My son called ahead and was given a pick-up time of 6:00pm. we waited over 40 minutes as they we slammed. We ordered six different entrees along with both wonton and egg drop soup, crab Rangoon and eggrolls. They shorted our order 3 eggrolls. Not good when you're an eggroll lover like me. (minus 1 star) The food was quite good so I have to say I'd recommend this family owned and run establishment. Almond boneless chicken: B+, Sweet / sour chicken / pork: B+, Mongolian Beef: B, Beef Lo mien: B Fried rice: C+, eggroll: B+ , wonton soup: C+, egg drop soup: C. read more

Egg roll was very greasy the fried rice was not good at all! The general chicken was just ok. Extra charge for sauces and the restaurant overall needs a good cleaning! Will not go back! No thank you read more

Got carryout.... big mistake Bland pepper steak Greasy super crunchy egg rolls The pepper steak had no flavor It looked like soup that was over cooked not good the rice was ok Only upside it was hot temperature No spice or flavor the beef maybe a hand full in a qt yuck, the peppers looked over cooked or really old I had heard the food was good but that must a been awhile ago Place was empty like usually is They acted like they were busy but it was a ghost town It wil stay that way with the gross food End of rant ... avoid Golden Dragon! read more

Just moved to town and read great things about this place, so gave it a chance tonight. So grossed out and disappointed. At pick up the restaurant smelled like raw sewage (husband mentioned that AFTER we ate). Sweet and sour chicken was soggy and no sweet to it at all - just vinegar! Egg rolls were over cooked and had no veggies in them. Maybe we were spoiled coming from the west coast but nothing in our meal I would order again. After 3 entrees, two soups and an appetizer, I have no desire to give this restaurant a second chance. read more

Haven't had it for about 15 years. I moved to the city. I haven't found anything out here that was as good as Golden Dragon. I could live on the Pork Dumplings with plum sauce. The chicken fried rice is the best I've ever had. General tso's and egg rolls are fantastic. I miss you so much! read more

The food is good but I'm disappointed it's not what it used to be back in the day when Ben was there

It's a dump, not sure of the cleanliness of the kitchen anymore. Haven't gone back for quite some time. The food was decent, but there's better places. read more

So we decided to order for our first time on a Friday night. We pulled up and park out in front & then I walked in to see 20 people waiting for there meals To go. Everyone must understand that all Michigan Restaurants are carry out only . I have to tell you that both of our meals were awesome and we now have a new New Chinese restaurant to get some really good food and a well trained staff. Great job Golden Dragon read more

Do NOT order from here! Five of my coworkers and I all ordered this for dinner at work and not one single meal was good. It took 2 HOURS from when we called even though when we picked it up the place was empty. I personally ordered the chow mein and it was disgusting. They have me a tub of vegetables and a bag of dried noodles? They were supposedly noodles but were more like the tiny crunchy things that go on salads. They tasted awful. I couldn't even eat the meal because of how bad it was and one of my coworkers said it was the worst chinese food she's ever had. Another one was VERY bloated immediately after eating the general tso fried rice. Save your money and go somewhere else! read more

I went there twice and was disappointed both times. The first time I went I ordered their "Pad Thai" which was not pad Thai because they used pad see ew noodles with pad Thai sauce. The second time I went I ordered their yellow curry and there wasn't any curry broth. It was a plate of vegetables with light bad curry sauce. Would not recommend this place. However, their spring roll and chili paste was acceptional. read more

This place has been in my hometown I think forever. I believe I wasn't impressed my first couple times a long time ago. Having few options this last New Year's Eve, I did carry out. My take is that it's pretty average Chinese fare, with nice egg rolls (crispy and not greasy), good wonton and egg drop soup. Wife got shrimp fried rice and I got Mongolian beef, both were... meh. I believe this is a place you have to try different items but would stick with actual Chinese dishes as it is Chinese owned and operated. My complaints would be it is a little bland on spice, I ordered mine "hot" and would say it was closer to mild. I'd also recommend adding soy sauce (comes included) because the food not salty at all (doubt they use msg - which is a good thing). Also I wish they added vegetables (bamboo shoots, broccoli etc...). During cooking because they're obviously added long before hand and mushy. Anyways, I remember having a hot pot dIsh once (dine in only) and was somewhat impressed. Will give it another shot most likely... read more

We LOVE The Golden Dragon! we have been ordering Take Out for 14 yrs now, & thats saying something! The Egg Rolls always delicious, Wonton soup yummy, Almond Chicken w/ Pork Fried Rice & Sweet & Sour Shrimp are our favs! Food is always top notch & the serving size is plentiful, we found No One in the area can beat " Golden Dragons" Menu! Heres to the next 14 years! read more

GREAT place for your Chinese food cravings. Service is always great whether dine in or take out. Good variety of options and always fresh. A few of my favorites: wonton soup, spring rolls, crab rangoon (they actually put crabmeat and seasoning in it, yum!). For entrees I have not had one I don't like but tend to order the Orange chicken or Chicken with Broccoli (lots of fresh broccoli included) read more

When we first moved to the Oxford area several years ago, we tried this restaurant and it was HORRIBLE. With the fall of Ming's in Lake Orion (terrible now - was good long ago), we decided to give Golden Dragon another try since it has been so long. Though I believe it to be the same owner, the food (carry-out, mind you) was VERY VERY good! Night and day difference from what I recall from years ago. If you haven't tried them lately, try them again. We were very surprised. read more

I would not go back. We will stick with China House near Meijer for carry out. None of our entrees were good and the sesame chicken was completely mushy and inedible. We threw it away- so disappointed. Not good. The pad Thai was really awful also. read more

Golden Dragon - Mushy sesame chicken with sesame seeds just sprinkled on top of order. Had to throw this away. It wasn't good. - Chinese Near Me - Oxford, Michigan

Pretty good Chinese. The fried rice is excellent. Unfortunately they overcook the vegetables in anything with broccoli so that makes many menu items not advisable. The wonton soup is just folded noodles with no filling. The chop suey is good but the egg foo young is pretty bland. Overall some things are great, but you really need to know the menu. read more

Admittedly, the place is kind of a dump. But the food and service more than make up for it. Staff is super friendly, if a little too chatty at times (may be my fault for becoming a regular). Food is fresh and reliable, always delicious and the portions and price can't be beat. Sizzling rice soup, General Tao, and Almond Chicken are some of our family's favorites. Everything I've ever tried here is good, from the egg rolls to the entrees. Best Chinese food in Oakland County. Bottom line: don't let the dumpy decor turn you away from this great little spot! read more

Golden Dragon - Egg rolls, can't ever eat just 1! - Chinese Near Me - Oxford, Michigan

Is everything here frozen deep fried and soaked in msg? First time ordering from here. Picked up carry out. Lo mein noodles were mushy and over cooked with cheap msg sauce. "General Tso" chicken was hard chewy bits wrapped in soggy breading soaked in wet runny sauce. Not crispy at all. Wonton soup was brine with tiny flakes of green onions mushy dumplings with no meat inside. I squeezed and egg roll and almost filled up the 2oz dipping cup with grease. If you are hungover and enjoy bad "Chinese" food go here. read more

It's hard for me not to be bias but I grew up in Oxford and ever since I have moved away I am been looking for a Chinese restaurant that compares. I have had no luck. I love the almond boneless chicken it has a yellow sauce (I wish knew the correct name) instead that salty brown sauce you find at other places. Also when you order chicken, beef or shrimp you get a actually normal size pieces of these meats you would expect. I have try most things on the menu and have them like them all. I will admit thou I have not tried any of the thai dishes but when I go there I am not look for Thai specific food. I highly recommend this restaurant, the owner and waiter are incredibly kind. Even known they are pretty busy all the time with carry out and very busy on the weekend for eating in they keep the place running smoothly. I guess I'll end by saying everyone I have ever brought here has asked to come back with me or bring back take out when I visit Oxford. read more

First time here; it won't be my last. Fast attentive service. Each meal includes soup, egg roll, and fortune cookie. Egg roll was fresh, hot, and crispy (not pre cooked and sitting in a heating tray). I was in the mood for bean sprouts so I opted for basic chicken chop suey - it didn't disappoint (added red chili sauce to spice it up). Looking forward to returning and ordering something spicy from their Szechuan menu, which is my norm. read more

Golden dragon is my favorite Chinese restaurant! The best general tso's chicken, egg rolls, and crab rangoons!

We love Chinese and order from the China house down the road regularly and I been wanting to try this place. I was super disappointed in it all. We waited for a complete hour for our food when we were told 20 min over the phone . We were going to walk out but didn't and waited waited waited. The sweet and sour chicken was sooooo bland all it tasted like was vinegar . The pineapple chicken we decent tho !We will not be going back again. Will keep our business up the road. read more

I went there on a whim because I don't know any good chinese restaurants in my area, because it was close and I was STARVING! The place only had one customer in it, which made me a bit leary. The waiter was a character and he was super friendly. They had the typical Chinese horoscope placemats, which I love and the decor was pretty simple. I got the Almond Chicken (typical fave) and the bf got Thai Curry Chicken..It came with soup, egg roll, and a fortune cookie. The food was actually good and more people started to walk in as I was eating. The price was a little on the high side, given that I usually get the $6.00 carry-out anywhere else I go. I would for sure go back. I'm having my leftovers for dinner tonight..yum, yum! read more
