So, this is my first time reviewing donuts. I was on a mission to find a glazed old fashioned donut. This place had it plus other old fashioned ones. Mine was delicious, light and fresh tasting without too much glaze. I was surprised to see Vietnamese coffee. I got that and an apple fritter. The coffee was very good. I haven't tried the fritter yet. The single person that helped me was very personable. I will return if I'm in the area again. read more

The good 1st - double expresso macchiato was good, surprisingly smooth (I'm a coffee snob) The bad - the cinnamon roll was horrible. Super sugary & no cinnamon in it (Yes I'm a cinnamon roll snob). My wife confirmed it was horrible. The ugly - when I complained to the worker he said "that's the way we make it" & I told him it had no cinnamon. He repeated the line & offered no replacement or to make it right. I think these guys need to go to American donut-making school or at least customer-service school. Ain't coming back. read more

I drive by Golden Donuts all the time and I have seen all of the positive reviews on Yelp. My fellow Pearland Yelpers seem to love this spot! During Winter Storm Uri (aka snowpocalypse) last year, I tried to buy some donuts, but the line was literally to the door. Everyone had the same idea as me. No running water, no electricity...the solution must be donuts! Unfortunately the line was so long and was moving so slowly, that I gave up and left. Fast forward a year later, and I found myself stopping here after my dental appointment because the best thing to eat after getting your teeth cleaned is sugar! There was only one customer in front of me. Before I could decide on what I wanted, another employee came out to take my order so there was basically no wait. A complete 180 from last time. I ordered a glaze twist and a chocolate iced donut. Those are kind of my standard donuts when I don't know what to order. Like many donut shops they also sell kolaches and breakfast tacos. There was a sign on the door for brisket kolaches. I'm not big on kolaches, but I love brisket so I may need to try them the next time I go. I'm also curious to try the breakfast tacos. I find that some of the best breakfast tacos are made at donut shops. Not sure why that is... The donuts are delicious!! They were very soft and tasty. The chocolate icing on the donut melted in my mouth. The glazed twist was so good, especially when I heated it up. I tried so hard not to stuff my face, but I failed. Every now and then, on those weekends when I don't get crunk, I'm up early on a Sunday morning. Today, I was looking for a breakfast stop close by and came across Golden Donuts. They are located in a small shopping center close to 518. Golden Donuts is your typical donut shop as far as the interior so I'm going to focus on the food. This mainly consists of a nice collection of donuts and kolaches. While the donuts aren't as imaginative as some other spots, the apple fritter I had was good. What really stood out for me were their kolaches. I had a sausage and cheese kolache and a ham, bacon, and swiss kolache. Both kolaches were a notch above your typical kolache. First, they're pretty big. Second, the ingredients are better. The ham was flavorful and mingled nicely with the bacon. The sausage was a lot larger than usual (ok pervs!) so the quality was there too. Solid grab-and-go type spot even though they do have several tables inside. read more

This is one of my favorite family owned donut shops in Pearland. I know alot of people love Shipleys, but their donuts just doesn't do it for me. They have to be super fresh to be good. Of course everyone loves fresh donuts, but sometimes you can't eat them right away. Golden donuts on the other hand is good hours after getting them. They have a really good variety of donuts. We are boring and get stuff like glazed and chocolate glazed and donut holes. They do have samples and I tired the maple bacon donut and it was delicious. I will definitely be back for those. Their kolaches are my favorite. They have choices for kolaches too. They have regular sausage and cheese, but I go for the Chappell Hill sausage and jalapeño. Their boudin kolaches are a family favorite also! The bread they use on their kolaches is what sets them apart from Shipleys and Kolache Factory. It's super soft and has a slight hint of sweetness. We like to take our vehicles to the car wash place next door and have our breakfast at Golden Donut. Multi tasking at its best! read more

After years of hearing great things about Golden Donuts, I finally made the trip over to purchase some treats for the family one Saturday morning in August. I ordered half a dozen kolaches and a dozen assorted donuts! ...but for my trouble (Lol!) I purchased my very own maple iced bar for the drive home. Let me just say, the drive home was the most satisfying drive of the year. Here's the skinny... I normally don't do breakfast. However, last night was cray. After the drink buffet from a wedding and birthday party, daddy was hungry. So I happened upon this place on the way back from plant shopping. As you can see by the pictures, this place is legit. They have a fantastic assortment of donuts, pastries, kolaches and croissants. In addition, they have a legit barrista running the coffee game (legit machine too), and when he isn't there, the other folks do it too. The deets: The restaurant is clean as heeeell. I have some OCD tendencies, and this place was spotless, not a spot of flour, or even a water mark on the counter or tables. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The gal at the counter made some good calls when I was being indecisive. This is the only donut shop that I've been to that has samples of donuts and kolaches. They were good!! My purchase: 1 bacon egg and swiss croissant sandwhich, 1 jumbo jalapeño and cheese kolache, 1 ham sausage and swiss kolache, and 1 vanilla iced red velvet donut, and a large iced coffee with Irish cream. Total $12. The croissant was the only thing I've eaten so far, it was delicious. Warmed up, the portion is very good, and the food was fresh. Personally, I like runny eggs, but that's rarely a choice anywhere so no harm no foul. Still would buy again. I had samples of the kolaches I bought and of their normal donuts. I have no doubt I will be enjoying enjoying those throughout the day. The coffee, made from scratch, is delicious. It's hard to find good coffee. My friend got a flat white with hazelnut and he lost his shit over it. We both were very impressed and will definitely be back for more. If you're a local, check this place out!!!! The kolaches were to die for. The bread is so soft and buttery. Wasn't a fan of the donuts but the breakfast food was worth it.

I like their food. The kolaches are more filling than others I've tried. It COULD use less bread though. And it'd be nice if they had plates instead of napkins to eat from. Their location is pretty genius considering it's right next to a car wash place that takes an hour for your car to get clean. Got nothin' else to do put to pick up a snack next door! My favorite car wash sits just across from this location so while I'm waiting for my ride to transform into a sparkly carriage...... I grab a bite here. They have a surprisingly diverse selection of donuts, kolaches and breakfast sandwiches and they offer various canned/bottled drinks and coffee. I like the basic sausage and cheese kolache - I keep it simple. Every time I was the ride, I'm in this spot. It's a mom and pop place and you can tell they take pride in their business. And they have a TV - so it's less crowded than the waiting room at the car wash. Winner for me! read more

Must preface by saying I've only tried 1 donut from here, the pumpkin cake. Only other item I've tried is boudain kolache (mild). After they increased their price for boudain kolache to $2.50 per item, I stopped buying from here; others sell very similar for less. I came in to try their pumpkin cake donut, after having an awesome one at another place near Shadow Creek. Golden's has too much glaze for my liking, size seems smaller, and the cake is different too. I still like the other place's pumpkin donut better. read more
