Chef is the absolute! Pepper steak was seasoned perfectly and steak was so tender. Hot and Sour soup is perfection! Have not ever ordered anything That wasn't prepared well. I'm a regular customer so I'm used to the assertive nature of the Chef's wife who runs the front. She is harmless but can be a bit off putting to those who don't know her personally. I read all of the reviews and was looking forward to a wonderful meal. My wife and I arrived at the restaurant at approximately 11:30 AM on Monday morning. The food came to us lukewarm at best. When we complained, the owner came out lifted my wife's plate felt the bottom of it and said well the bottom of the plate is hot. I said just because the bottom of the plate is hot does not mean the food is. She took my wife's plate rudely and had it microwaved. Even though my food was the same way I didn't feel like arguing with her. Upon paying she blamed her husband for not sending the food fast enough. I am glad that so many had a good experience. However, this was gonna be my first and it's definitely my last. read more

I decided to give this restaurant another try. The food was good although the portions were somewhat small. The reason I'm giving this one star is I hate to be a nickel and dimed to death And the owner not being forthcoming. She asked if I wanted fried rice or white rice I said fried rice. She didn't tell me that will be $1.99 extra. And then when I got my receipt I see one MISC for $1.50 what was that? And then I use my credit card which I often do and they charged me $.76 for an NCA fee. I brought a friend from Cartersville who ordered from the lunch menu what should I serve at night and they added to his bill also. This is the last time I will eat here. I left a four dollar tip for my food but never ever again will I step foot in this establishment. I recommend that you check your receipts every time you go there they're not honest! read more

This is a small-town Chinese restaurant. The menu is the same as any other American Chinese. The food is good but not great. We had the Pou-pou platter it was ok. My wife had the wonton soup and sesame chicken with eggs roll and fried riceand really liked it. I had eggs drop soup which was good. My main dish was pork lo mein with fried rice and egg roll. The pork lo mein was not good. The staff is nice and friendly. But as of right now they are under staffed. We will come back and try some other dishes before making a final decision. read more

Food Is So So - Don't Leave a Tip - The Owners Keep the Tip!! We've gone to Golden China several times and the food is just ok. The female owner is normally the one who answers the phone and checks you out. She's friendly but is very pushy and wants everyone to know how good her food is and that her husband is the cook and is a great cook. The food is just ok. We've tried different dishes, but just can't say that anything we've tried is great. There are better options for Chinese Food In Rome. My other main complaint is that the owners do not allow the servers to keep the tips. This is a HUGE issue for me and therefore, we will not return. Attn owners: - Super bad policy, as most people who leave a tip expect that the money goes to the server who has helped them and served them. read more

Service is always great. Food is always delicious. We love coming on Wednesdays because children eat free. Lol we always recommend to friends and family. Place is always clean and always busy during lunch. We did come a few mins before closing one time (because we forgot the close for a few hours after lunch) and they still served us with awesome service and great food. read more

No matter what you order, add an egg roll or two. DELICIOUS. This place is busy, but for good reason. My family got dinner to go, and everything was fresh, hot and tasty. This is good quality food, and lots of it. I had the beef and broccoli and an egg roll. The broccoli was fresh and crunchy, onions and water chestnuts added to the mix. The brown sauce was just right, and not too thick. But the egg roll... So good! I feel like I can't type the word "fresh" enough in this review. I hate when Chinese food is soggy! This is a favorite place to eat . The staff is attentive. The service is quick.Best of all, the food is good. I try to get different entrees, but the shrimp and vegetables is so good that i usually get it,although i have tried many other dishes here that were excellent also.
