Figured I'd give it another go... nope. Still ass. At this point, shut it down. Came it at 4:05ish on a Sunday. I was behind 2 people. No one took their order, so, I assumed at least the first person in line was waiting for their food. Nope. The first person in line asked if the 2nd person in line wanted to use the self order thing. He messed around on it for about 10 seconds and then backed off of it. Then the first person in line started messing with it. At no point did anyone behind the counter even attempt to take an order. The person behind me walked out and I followed promptly. read more

This establishment receives mobile order for delivery drivers to pick up and I completely understand some wait time, but when you're not acknowledged when you're standing at the counter waiting for a worker to acknowledge you to let them know you're there for a pick up and continues to walk past you. Then you're finally acknowledged by the cook in the back is horrible service. One worker making the food has his pants sagging to his knees with earphones in and the cord hanging in the way by food. Also, he goes outside and comes back in and don't wash his hands then starts making orders. Then look at you crazy when you ask how much longer after being there over 35 minutes tells you they have other people to take care of. Watch out for this establishment not good with customers or making sure sanitation is being done properly read more

Came from Florida for family visit, tried this place for the first time, food was good, staff attitude was terrible, cursing coming from everybody and getting upset the location was getting busy at 8pm read more

Service sucks! Let me say that I was there today around 3:00 and had to wait 45. for someone to say something to me. 45:00 minutes later someone took my order. That's not workmanship. They are there to do nothing and expect a pay check. That's not going to work. The staff playing in the back. They just lost my business ! If you want a job act like it. The manager needs training to train or give it to someone who cares. I'm going to share this on Facebook because something needs to be done! And fyi my grandson was so hungry so because of him I stayed by never again will we go to this establishment. I hope the CEO of Golden Chick gets this!!! read more

We tried it to see if it's better than Popeyes or KFC. NOT! Tried to order shrimp and Cole slaw. Did not have either. Settled for undercooked wings. Place is dirty and sticky. Cane's and KFC will remain at the top of our list! read more

This business (Golden Chick), needs a reboot! Three days ago, I went there around 5pm, and told they didn't have ANY food! The next day I went around 5:30 pm, and I was told I could only buy 2 whole wings at a time/per visit. I was told that I could buy the 3 piece mix (one wing, one drumstick and a thigh). I asked why, and was told that it's the new policy. I've had issues with the service at this particular food establishment several times. Yesterday, I went to Golden Chick on Ft. Hood Road, Killeen and had NO PROBLEM buying 3 wings! I have NEVER had a problem with the Ft. Hood Road restaurant. The owner/manager needs to be aware of what's going on at their establishment. read more

I have been coming to this Golden Chick location for years and have always had a great experience. Today I went through the drive thru and placed my orders and received the worst customer service ever. I ordered the roasted chicken dinner and asked for two roasted chicken breasts, side salad and a large sweet iced tea. The other order was a family mashed potatoes with the gravy on the side. My receipt even showed that I ordered two breasts. I drove all the way home to find out there was no container of gravy and I received a leg and a thigh, (which weren't even cooked all the way), instead of the chicken breasts that I ordered and a medium tea instead of a large tea. I tried calling them a couple of times and no one was answering the phone. I'm really disappointed with the service and the food! Hopefully the owners will see this review and talk to their employees that were working this evening. I'm pretty sure the girl handing me the bag of food knew the order wasn't right because she gave me a funny look when she was handing me the bag and I wondered why she had that look. read more

Harker Heights Tx is the nearest to me and they literally are the worse . Went there on a Sunday night .. about 15 minutes to closing .. I know .. late but they're open . But they literally said hold on a minute and about 5 minutes later I drive around to the window a lady is mopping the floor and her coworker is talking to her and I'm looking at them and peep my horn they didn't look at us . Then another guy comes out and looks at us and turned around . They could of just told us they were not going to serve us because it was 10 till closing but no they just wrote us off and the time before that I waited on cat fish for 15 minutes just to get almost cold catfish . So I've got to wait till I go to Austin to get good golden chic . It's a shame . read more

Came to this location at 9:40pm on Sunday and the staff was already closing. Told us to wait at the drive through and never came back on to take our order so we finally drove to the window in hopes to order or at least get an explanation or an apology that they closed early. They were already cleaning up and completely ignored us. Definitely unprofessional but I guess that's just what you get now-a-days. read more

* * Not good Food Service Ambiance I am very disappointed in how bad this location has gotten. I went last night around 9:45, an hour 15min before they close and the manager rudely told me they dont have any product up and that its cook to order. Cook to order when you have an hour and 15 minutes left before closing ??? If your going to cook to order why even stay open til 11 you should of just kept your hours closing at 10pm like the past 25 years. So I decide to wait and while ordering they tell me they are out of macaroni and mash potatoes the 2 products that you should never run out of anyways I still ordered and waited which normally takes about 7-10 minutes to batter and cook the tenders but last night it took about 30 min. I get my food and the tenders are super tiny, not hot and fresh, and they forgot my zing sauce. The people you have running this place has no business running it. The employees were just sitting down behind the counter as if they didnt have any customers. Get it together Golden Chick or bring back the old owner!!!!!!!!!!Very disappointing!!!!!! read more

Visted the establishment on November 14, 2022 at 8:34 PM and placed an order for fried wings with a 20 minute wait time. Not unusual to wait for fresh fried chicken. The customer service from the cashier was unsatisfactory and very unprofessional. While waiting for the order to complete which is now past 20 minutes the cashier ignores me at the window turning her head to look away from the window. Cashier continues texting on her phone and starts laughing as I honk the horn to get her attention. Cashier never apologizes for the long wait as she hands over the order. This particular establishment has an issue with giving the fried wings away while waiting in a designated area way past the promised time frame. My understanding the manager on site does not care if there are complaints about the staff. read more

Really sad because this has been my favorite place to get chicken forever but today it took like 25 or more minutes to get my food from the drive through and when it came out it was cold and there was hardly anything in the box. Really disappointed the picture is without me eating anything. It came like that (I took the gravy out cause it made things look like there was food in it)... read more

Sad to find how downhill this place have gotten :( we have gone here a couple times since my last review and have been so disappointed. Last time our tenders and fries were soggy, but we went there late, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Today we get our food and the tenders were the size of a French fry... literally SO THIN. On top of that, the cashier gal was NOT pleasant. I used to come here since high school and always used to love the food and it was always so fresh and a decent size meal, and the staff used to be friendly. Hopefully they can make some changes soon. read more

Drove to this location 50 minutes before they closed. Was told "we're closed right now" after I had been sitting there for almost 5 minutes. I said google has your hours posted until 11 and was told "well everything will take 20 minutes then"...so you close early and decide to lie about it. read more

Went through drive thru. Cashier was extremely rude. I ordered roasted chicken and got fried chicken. Food took forever to come out. Waited patiently and no one came to say sorry for the delay. Thought they went to kill the chicken. Will not go back. Don't recommend this place at all read more

First of all the girl with the blue wig at the window was rude as all outdoors. She was rushing us, didn't even greet us when we pulled up. Then they took almost 10 minutes to serve us and when we tried to get their attention they IGNORED US. Lol. Not mad but DISSAPOINTED. read more

This place was one of the best fast food restaurant while I was in this town. I have now went two times, the first time I got a 6 piece chicken strip with a side of ma n cheese as well as a roll. The chicken strips has a good crunchy coating and juicy meat. The Mac n cheese was hot and delicious. The rolls are buttery and soft. The second time I went I got a 2 piece fried chicken combo. It came with two thighs and we got a fruit salad as a side. I also got the spicy Golden tender sandwich and French fries. I wasn't to happy about it just being tenders on the sandwich but the bread was delicious as well as the meat. The French fries were hot and fresh, great crunch but still had potatoes in it. 8/10 recommend. This was definitely a great trip! read more

I got the four piece golden tenders with fries and a raspberry lemonade. The tenders were crispy and the gravy that came with it made it that much more tasty! Definitely will frequent this place more often! read more

They have quick service and are willing to try new things! New Cholula tenders are awesome.

Good food as always, however, customer service and employee attitude needs to be reevaluated. Horrible attitude, I don't know if it's because it's busy or not but it shouldn't be this way. read more

It's a home town favorite. I ate there about 50% of the time for lunch when I was in high school, and although there are Golden Chicks in Austin, it's just not the same. The tenders are the only way to go here. Get the Real Deal, spicy. And don't forget the pink lemonade! read more

Ha ha! The Golden Chick! I drove past this place for years and finally stopped there on my way out of town on my final trip to Killeen. We split some kind of combo with chicken tenders, a biscuit, and fried okra. The tenders were good--white meat, tender crispy coating, plenty of salt! The okra was fantastic. Bright green inside, crunchy breading. Could have gone for a second order. The roll was fine but nothing special. The people behind the counter were nice and seemed amused by helping a couple of newbies figure out the menu. It was very clean in the dining room. The Golden Chick! Say it! read more

Waited 8 minutes to place a order while the employees finished joking around and talking about a customer in the drive thru, I was the only one at the counter. Why have a phone if you're not going to ever answer!! I've called on numerous occasions and different day, and nothing.. not even a simple hello. Where is management at?? Obviously the managers are inadequate and ill trained for their job. Why not have a member of the staff answer the phone if he or she is unavailable? Seems simple enough right?? Ohh and let me not leave out the few times someone has answered a automatically hung up upon answering. How unprofessional!! I wonder what the franchise owners have to say? Can't run a successful fast food restaurant if y'all are not going answer the phones for your future/ current guests. It's okay Bushes chicken isn't to far and the food is much more tastier and they treats their guest a whole lot better. read more

Went through the drive thru for lunch today, ordered 2 catfish and shrimp combos. What a let down. Two very small pieces of fish per box. One box had 4 shrimp and 1 roll, the other had 2 shrimp, 2 rolls and for some reason about 5 tiny pieces of okra ( not requested), we ordered double fries for each combo. Usually the service and food is wonderful, not today. read more

Their food is always delicious, and the chicken is fresh and crispy. The fries are great, too. I'm not too crazy about the gravy on the mashed potatoes, though. They use white gravy instead of brown. The bun that comes with the meal is glazed with what tastes like brown sugar and butter (it could also be honey butter). The customer service is also good. read more
